Chapter 231 - Chapter 231 Chasing Tony!

Through Green Arrow perspective, Anton saw Spider-Man saving Otto and was similarly unsurprised.

Spider-Man was inherently kind-hearted. Moreover, Otto, at his core, wasn't truly evil.

Now that he had shed his villainous reputation and become a superhero in the Avengers, he was even less of a threat.

Although the two sides were enemies, Spider-Man would never willingly take a life.

His goal was always to defeat his opponent to the best of his ability.

Saving lives was part of his mission as a superhero.

Shifting his gaze, Anton focused on the rooftop battle—specifically, the ongoing clash between the Turtles and Black Widow and Hawkeye.

This melee involved the largest number of combatants.

The Ninja Turtles, four in total, faced off against Black Widow and Hawkeye, making it six fighters split into two opposing factions.

The Turtles were feeling frustrated.

In terms of combat skills, they slightly outclassed Black Widow and Hawkeye.

Years of relentless ninja training, combined with their mutated physiques and natural shell-based defense, allowed them to press their opponents.

However, Black Widow and Hawkeye Extremis virus enhancements—granting them the ability to generate extreme heat and rapidly heal—turned them into unkillable pests.

The fight dragged on, far less decisive than the other battles across the rooftop.

"Hey, Wonder Woman already got Captain America on the verge of collapse.

Venom and Daredevil have taken care of their opponent, and even our youngest, Spider-Man, teamed up with Green Arrow to take down that octopus… Only Cyborg and we haven't finished our fights.

We need to pick up the pace—I refuse to be the last one standing!"

Michelangelo, riding his hoverboard, glanced at the other battles around the rooftop and gritted his teeth.

Losing to anyone else was tolerable, but losing to their junior, Spider-Man, stung his pride.

"You think I'm not trying?"

Donatello, busy fending off Hawkeye, grumbled. "If only Phil hadn't taken the freeze gun. That would've been perfect for handling these two nuisances."

"Hey, Donnie, do you have anything that could immobilize them?"

Leonardo brows furrowed deeply.

While they could suppress their opponents, the problem lay in their opponents' resilience—it was tough to end the fight.

"Nope!"

Donatello sighed. "We left in such a hurry I didn't bring anything useful."

"What about Venom?"

Raphael suddenly had a lightbulb moment. "He could turn into ropes and tie them up."

"No chance," Donatello replied.

"The symbiote is extremely vulnerable to heat, and those two can generate temperatures in the thousands. Venom wouldn't stand a chance."

"Damn it!"

Michelangelo cursed loudly, weaving circles above Black Widow and Hawkeye on his hoverboard, trying to keep them occupied but unable to come up with a solution.

Although the Justice League and Avengers were at war, both sides maintained an unspoken agreement.

A no-kill agreement.

If lives were taken, the conflict would escalate into a true war with no possibility of resolution.

Even after the battle ended, the wounds from such an act would leave permanent scars of hatred.

Thus, the Turtles never considered decapitating Black Widow or Hawkeye, even though they certainly had the chance to do so.

"Tsk."

Anton shook his head, realizing the Turtles couldn't effectively restrain Black Widow and Hawkeye. He reached for his grappling gun, switching it to "net" mode.

"Turtles, stand back!"

He raised his hand slightly, his deep voice echoing in the Turtles' ears.

The four Turtles instinctively retreated.

Batman had long established his authority within the Justice League.

Not only was he the founder of the League, but he had also solved the Turtles' biggest problem—helping them step out of the sewers and become New York beloved mascots, celebrated and adored by the public.

Their respect for Batman was extraordinary, second only to their mentor and father figure, Splinter.

Whoosh, whoosh!

As soon as Anton finished speaking, the Turtles cleared the battlefield.

Black Widow and Hawkeye tensed.

Before they could react, a massive net was cast down toward them.

Both were startled.

They tried to escape the net range, but the Turtles were quick to act.

Each Turtle grabbed a corner of the net, flipping it like an overturned bowl to trap Black Widow and Hawkeye at its center.

Twisting and pulling, they wrapped the two tightly from all sides.

"Natasha, burn this net completely!"

Hawkeye growled, his entire body turning crimson. Even his previously normal face now radiated a molten, magma-like glow, as if he might explode like a human bomb at any moment.

"Got it!"

Black Widow nodded, her body mimicking Hawkeye transformation.

Intense heat erupted.

The two pushed their abilities to their limits, their bodies glowing red as if they'd become miniature suns.

"This is bad! Donnie, what if they burn through the net?"

Donatello looked alarmed.

"Hmph."

Anton stepped forward slowly, eyeing the two struggling figures. He smirked.

"Even if they burn themselves to ashes, they can't damage this net."

Inherited from Bruce Wayne arsenal, Anton had full confidence in the durability of the net.

And sure enough…

Despite Black Widow and Hawkeye best efforts, the net only glowed red-hot under the heat.

The rooftop beneath their feet began to melt, but the net remained intact.

"Damn it!"

Black Widow and Hawkeye expressions turned grim.

The net completely wrapped around them, forcing them back-to-back, their arms and legs curled up as the Turtles combined strength tightened the restraint. They were utterly trapped, rendered helpless prisoners.

"Keep an eye on them," Anton commanded.

Anton gave a brief command and tilted his head slightly to look skyward.

What remained noteworthy now was the intense battle still ongoing between Cyborg and Iron Man.

As for Wonder Woman versus Captain America, was the outcome even in question?

In the sky.

Tony flew erratically, dodging Cyborg relentless attacks.

Meanwhile, every part of his armor activated its weapon systems. His shoulder-mounted Sidewinder missiles, one of his trump cards, locked onto their target.

Boom!

Boom!

Yet, his trump cards were utterly ineffective against Cyborg.

The energy shield before Cyborg completely nullified Tony attacks, leaving him no openings.

"Damn it…"

Tony mind flashed back to the alien invasion in New York a few months ago.

The alien commander, Lang warship had external defenses that gave him the same feeling as Cyborg energy shield now.

It was as if he had returned to that moment of helplessness, forced to watch others save the city and turn the tide.

The worst part was, back then, he'd nearly fallen to his death!

If Eddie hadn't caught him…

Thinking of Eddie, a flicker of guilt crossed Tony face beneath his mask, quickly replaced by steely determination.

He believed he'd made the right choice.

Having decided, he refused to regret his actions.

Boom!!

Suddenly, an energy blast streaked through the air like lightning, striking Tony shoulder at a sharp angle.

Crack!

The Sidewinder missile launcher on his shoulder was destroyed.

In other words, Tony had just lost one of his major weapons.

But Tony quickly stabilized his flight and accelerated, pushing his suit energy systems to their limits. His speed skyrocketed as he continued flying over Washington.

Whoosh!

He skimmed just above the road, brushing past vehicles at breakneck speed.

Drivers looked on in horror, their expressions frozen in shock. Mere moments later, a silver figure streaked past in pursuit of the red blur, closing the gap.

"What the…?"

One driver was utterly dumbfounded.

He quickly turned on his car radio, where a breaking news broadcast was already in full swing.

"At 2:12 PM today, a fierce battle erupted in downtown Washington. The combatants? The Justice League and the Avengers…"

"Yes, you heard that right—those two superhero teams!"

"The cause of the conflict remains unclear, but based on live reports, it confirmed that both teams are fully engaged.

Additionally, Doctor Octopus and Captain America from the Avengers have already been defeated. Crossbones, Black Widow, and Hawkeye have also gone silent, likely having fallen as well…"

"Cyborg and Iron Man are battling across Washington. The fight remains undecided, but Iron Man is clearly on the defensive, being relentlessly pursued by Cyborg…"

Hearing this flurry of updates, the driver inhaled sharply, contributing his share to global warming.
