It was a windy day. The bright sky was clear of the clouds and the sun shone down with passion. Although the air of Queens was slightly dense and hard to breathe, the constant flow of wind made the air more bearable.
Ryan was strolling around the busy part of the city. He wore a white T-shirt followed by long grey shelves. He looked around the streets aimlessly. He wandered and thought about his plans.
To be honest, he was not an ambitious man. He didn't have a set goal or life he wanted. That is why he wanted nothing more than a stable lifestyle. But deep within his heart, Ryan knew that he was not built for that kind of life.
It was like fate calling him to go on an adventure.
Ryan stopped his steps and looked up at the blue sky. Under the endless sky, he was tiny and yet limitless. Then he checked on the Omnitrix.
Since last night, he had become more hesitant with this. Transforming into various aliens was a nice power but it broke its individual trace. People would not remember him as a single individual.
Of course, he could change that kind of view by revealing his identity.
I hope the Omnitrix symbol will be enough for people to realize that I am the same person as the next alien.
He turned on the Omnitrix and turned around a few times. The symbol landed on Heatblast and he paused. He sighed and closed the Omnitrix.
" Hey. Ryan."
Someone called out his name.
Ryan looked at the crowd, trying to find the familiar sound. His eyes landed on the duo walking waving at him from the other side of the street.
One was shorter and filled more than the other.
Ryan waved back at them and said, " Wait. I will come."
The duo was Peter and Ned. Ned set up a plan for the weekend. The plan was to buy the legos for him.
Ryan crossed the street successfully.
" What happened to your hands?" Peter asked.
Ryan smiled and shrugged off saying. " I fell off the stairs and landed with both my hands. Thankfully, there was no bone broken. So we are going to eat or start hunting for that star war set."
Ned and Peter exchanged their glances. They both said. " Eat."
Ned laughed. " We haven't eaten since morning. I ask Peter for help with a science project. The project eats up our time and we forget to eat."
Ryan nodded. " Then let's go. The sun is getting hotter. I am treating you guys."
" Thanks."
They all headed to the restaurant. On the way, they talked about stuff.
" What is the project? From Mrs.Leroy?" Ryan asked.
" Yes. It is a wind powered engine. A smaller one. Ned's plan was to reduce the noise from the engine and make it usable to the citizens."
Ned nodded. " But we found problems. First, we don't have enough materials to experiment. The school provides enough for one engine but not enough. We need more since we don't know what will go wrong?"
Peter sighed.
" So what will you do?" Ryan asked.
" I will write a request to the school." Ned said with a weakening tone. " The chance of getting picked on was low but with Peter's recommendation, I bet the school chose the project."
Ryan rubbed his chin and said, " You need materials right? And you guys probably don't have a lab either, excluding the school. How about coming to my house?"
" Why?"
" My dad is an electrical engineer. He worked for a somewhat big company and now he moved to government property because that company went bankrupt.
And my dad brought a lot of stuff from that company. You guys can use them."
Ned widened his eyes and said, " Seriously."
Ryan nodded. " Yeah but I need to ask for my dad's permission."
The hunt for Lego was successful. Although it drained Ryan's wallet a lot, he was satisfied. He had been wanting to decorate his room because his old stuff was left behind.
He arrived at the home and put down his Lego on the bed and entered the basement. His dad was an engineer at heart and filled with passion in the craft.
And he chose this house for the sole usage of the large basement and garage. He opened the light and looked around. He noted down and decided that Ned's project will be done in the garage.
The basement was filled with all kinds of work- related things. He didn't want to clean the basement for the project.
" All right. Time to test out my Omnitrix." He said hesitantly.
He already checked the clock and his house. There was no one in the house and his dad won't be home for about 2 hours.
Ryan opened the Omnitrix.
He looked around the aliens and frowned. There was not a lot to choose from.
Heatblast was not possible since it is a tight room and the materials around him were easy to catch on fire.
XlR8 had no use as well.
Jetray was even worse. Ryan was inclined to test out Feedback but draining the power from the house will bring unwanted attention onto him. Like SHIELD.
As for the other ten unfamiliar aliens, they carried a lot of uncertainty.
It will be great if I can test out in the forest or some remote place. Wait, I can go using XlR8 or Jetray.
I am stupid.
He smacked himself for not getting this idea sooner.
" Well. Whatever. I can test next week since tomorrow I have a project to make."
He shook his head and pressed the Omnitrix.
The familiar sensation of being morphed washed his being. In this split second, his skin turned into crystalized rocks.
" DiamondHead."
Ryan checked his body and nodded. He felt unbreakable.
He lifted his right hand and willed his hand into a blade. The hand turned into long blade. He swung around.
That is so cool.
He turned back and extended his hand to aim at the empty soda can near him. He closed one eye and aimed with the other. Then his hand shot out one crystal projectile.
It pierced the floor beside the empty can.
" Shit." Ryan cursed.
He closed his eye again and shot another. It missed as well but he understood it.
He fired another one. It pierced the empty can.
Seeing the mess he made, Ryan smiled. " That is so much fun.
