Chereads / Gacha Player: My Luck is Multiplied 10x / Chapter 19 - Snow’s Mantra

Chapter 19 - Snow’s Mantra

Kaiju found out that all the items in the store cost Luck Points. Even their rank was also equivalent to the amount of Luck Points he had to expend to buy tickets of different ranks. In other words, if he wanted to categorize the item to common ranks, the item's cost ranged from 1 Luck Points to 100 Luck Points.

He was curious to what item cost 1 Luck Point and distressingly discovered it was pretty much useless.

However, if he thought about it, it was entirely not. Just that, his heart pang a little to know that to obtain five nails, he had to spend 1 Luck Point. Furthermore, a hammer cost 5 Luck Points, a blueprint cost 10 Luck Points, 3 woods for 1 Luck Point – although they were valuable materials for constructing a shelter, it would still be costly, nonetheless.

Furthermore, he had to obtain a skill, Basic Shelter Creation, to construct a shelter. It cost 60 Luck Points to buy… He didn't want to spend anymore Luck Points. After all, luck usually occurs by accident.

To summarize, the category went like this: Auxiliary: 1 - 30, Skills: 31 - 80, Artifact: 80 - 100, but this was based on the Common rank category. Though, the sequence was pretty much the same. Common (1-100), Rare (100-1000), Epic (1000-10000), Legendary (10000-100000)

He tried to glimpse through the items on the Legendary section, but they were all marked as questions and shrouded by darkness. It didn't need him to spend so much effort grasping it.

However, he still asked the Gacha System a question.

"How can I unlock the Legendary section, Gacha System? It also appears it is even the same in the Epic section."

{To unlock the Legendary and Epic section, the host must obtain rewards of the same quality through draws. Once successful, it'll automatically unlock.}

Kaiju nodded, feeling a bit pity. It seemed he had to remain performing Common and Rare draws as Epic and Legendary were far from his reach. After all, the reward was not about quality, but its ability that could help him.

What was the point of gifting him a diamond when he could not fully utilize it? It would be better for others to give him copper or iron as he could craft something from it.

Kaiju soon forgot about the store, closing it as it quickly vanished in front of his eyes. Nevertheless, his perception of the Gacha System drastically changed. He had to spend his Luck Points with extreme meticulousness or the regret might kill him someday.

Hence, stealing a glance at his current Luck Points – a measly 150 Luck Points – he decided not to spend it. Who knows? There might be something in the store that would provide him great assistance later.

Suddenly, he recalled he spotted a cloth on the common rank section. Although costly, he might benefit from it due to the cold weather. However, scrutinizing his current clothes, despite reeking with sweats, filled with grimes and tears, he knew he could still use it. It would be a waste to change it quickly when it still had uses for him.

He sighed.

He stared at Snow to comfort himself, rubbing her head to his content while Snow excitedly rubbed her cheeks on her master's palm. It lessened Kaiju's worry somewhat.

Out of nowhere, he suddenly recalled the event transpired even before he was thrown to the Trial.

He could not help but ask inwardly.

'What I was staying alive for? Just a week ago, I've already decided to die.'

He glanced at Snow and felt the presence of Little Gorilla. Distracted, he was startled by Snow's hiss.

Snow's instinct kicked in as soon as she sensed a menacing presence bolting towards them. The aura exuded by the other party was pretty much the same by the serpent her master killed. Even when her master elucidated the events to Little Gorilla, astonishing her even, she still raised her guard up.

Who knows? The Overlord beast might have changed his mind later on and decided to harm her master?

To a great extent, she wanted to prevent the horror from occurring. Yes, she must protect her master at all cost. She recently committed a motto to her heart and mind.

'If you want to harm my master… Over my dead body!'

It was a mantra that automatically reminded her every time she sensed danger. In the end, what always reassured her, calmed her agitation, was her master's touch. His pat, his rub… it was soothing as it always eased her worries.

Right now, he was basically rubbing her cheeks, patting her head, while saying, "It's alright, Snow. The Overlord beast just contacted me that he sent his subordinate to send the gift he had for you. He also… Damn, he's speaking too much. What's wrong with him?"

Snow cared more about her master's tone, seemingly so comfortable to hear. She cared less about the information; though, of course, it assured her that the intimidating presence didn't seem to inflict any harm to them at all.

Only that, she was confused why it was radiating killing intent, making her assume it wanted to harm her master.

"Anyway, he just wanted to make peace with you, Snow. Don't worry about my safety. With you, I know I'm safe."

Those were golden words for Snow. Her body quivered and her heart raced. Her master's comment was unexpected, throwing her off. She glanced at her master, but the latter seemed to be staring, with eyes sparkling, at the incoming unknown snake.

It displeased her somewhat.

"It's finally here, Snow!" Kaiju couldn't help but exclaim excitedly.

After all, he couldn't help but wonder what the fruit was.

When the snake finally revealed its appearance, Kaiju was taken aback. After all, the serpent's appearance was pretty much the same with the serpent he battled earlier. His heart raced, as a result.

"What do you expect, kid? I have fifteen more of them. Even so, they aren't even my strongest soldier yet. That's why…"

Kaiju forcibly stopped listening to the Overlord beast's yapping. His saliva and oxygen were obviously abundant. Instead, Kaiju placed his entire attention on the fruit. Through his skill, Edible Plant Identification Skill, he managed to obtain the information about the fruit.
