Kaiju stored the Bloodthorn on his inventory, but it didn't mean he didn't stay vigilant. He reminded Snow to stay aware of their surroundings, as the beast has more sensitive senses than humans. While he was at it, Kaiju was staring at his status, wanting to keep updated. After all, the change of his status seemed to happen faster than he could track.
However, a minute after, he was distracted by the noise of a monkey, and glancing at Snow, staring at a particular direction with a straight face, he knew who it was. He was glad Little Gorilla was back, but he was dismayed Snow was the only one who benefitted on their journey, when, in fact, it was Little Gorilla who discovered the fruit.
Furthermore, the reason he stayed Little Gorilla on their back, aside from not wanting him to be affected in case of peril, he wanted Little Gorilla to make sure their path of escape was certain. Little Gorilla was aware of his role, Kaiju didn't need to remind him of that.
Now that Little Gorilla sensed his master and fellow pet leaving the domain of the danger he sensed, and making sure there were no hazards on his surroundings, he moved through the branches towards his master.
When he arrived he was a bit surprised by his master's distressing mood. He felt his heart pang a little. After all, almost a week being his side, he witnessed the emotionless Kaiju most of the time. He admired it the most. Now, he assumed that Kaiju must have failed to snatch a fruit. Nevertheless, he never blamed his master, he must blame himself.
He was ready to punish himself, but he must comfort his master first. He walked like a four-legged beast towards his master, uttering a melancholic noise, wanting to comfort his master. Kaiju grasped what Little Gorilla wanted to convey as he smiled in response.
"It's not that. We did obtain a treasure a little, but I think only Snow will be benefitted."
Kaiju then recalled that the Overlord beast stated he would give a fruit to Snow that would aid her. Since Snow was a beast, and so was Little Gorilla, the fruit must be enticing to Little Gorilla, too. He did not want any conflict to spark between Snow and Little Gorilla due to greed. It has always been what he feared the most.
Thus, Kaiju explained what occurred, not leaving any details or mixed falsehood since he did not possess such a character. Little Gorilla listened attentively, even sitting on Kaiju's shoulder. His three crimson eyes darted everywhere, listening while checking the surroundings. When Kaiju was finished, he was astonished.
After all, who would have thought his master would encounter an Overlord beast? To battle a corrupted rank at that! If it was him, he would have been dead long ago. Little Gorilla was correct on his quick conclusion. If it was not because the serpent was a poison attribute beast, the Ring of Venomous Resilience, and Snow's interference, Kaiju would not have been able to win.
There was Bloodthorn, too!
There were many factors that led to Kaiju's win. Despite his massive advantage, the difference in rank was evident. Furthermore, his battle experience after a week of fighting a savage rank monster has an immense assistance during the duel.
Little Gorilla could not help but cast an admiring stare at his master. Kaiju perceived it, but since he did not want to tilt his head upward to meet Little Gorilla's intense gaze, he did not want to bother about it. At least, he heaved a sigh of relief, knowing Little Gorilla couldn't be bothered by the fruit the Overlord beast granted.
Monkeys were known for their devious nature. It would be nice if Little Gorilla kept it to others, not to them.
As Kaiju was contemplating about the future, the Gacha System's voice reverberated again in his mind.
{The Gacha System has finished calculating the rewards the host would receive after winning a duel against a Corrupted rank beast.
Congratulations! Due to the difference in rank and winning by luck, the Gacha System plundered 10 Luck Points!
You have been rewarded with 100 Luck Points!
100 Luck Points are being multiplied 10x…
Congratulations! You have been rewarded with 1000 Luck Points!}
Kaiju's eyes widened, finding it difficult to believe the massive amount of Luck Points he received. It was staggering, no doubt. However, he suddenly recalled Gacha System announcing he would have to spend 1000 Luck Points on opening the inventory system…
He had a bad feeling.
{The Gacha System has detected that the host has accumulated 1000 Luck Points!
The store's feature cost to open is 1000 Luck Points!
Does the host want to spend 1000 Luck Points to open the store?
Yes/No}
Kaiju cursed under his breath. He was about to rejoice but it turned out, the hard-earned Luck Points would be expended just to open a feature. Why couldn't he open it for free?
"The Gacha System is so stingy!"
{...}
Snow and Little Gorilla were startled by their master's sudden growl. He even mentioned a name they did not know. They cast a worried glance at their master, to which the latter responded with a smile and fell into contemplation.
Kaiju shook his head helplessly and answered yes to the system.
{1000 Luck Points are being deducted to open the store.
Congratulations! The store has been opened.
If the host desires to look at the store, please order it subconsciously.}
Kaiju growled. He knew that even with the bonus Luck Points Gacha System has, it would not be enough to buy what contains the store.
He ordered the Gacha System to open the store and was taken aback by the countless items appearing. It even reached the point an item was so small, as though he needed a microscope.
Kaiju suddenly received information the store was categorized and by selecting some aspects of an item it possessed he fancied, the store would quickly organize it.
