6.0 Recruits
(Change persona to Cethus)
I was wearing a long coat and a hood that covered my face. I entered one of the buildings with my documents. I approached the woman standing at the cash register. I gave her a piece of paper with filled-in information. I left the blanks that I didn't know how to fill in. The woman accepted my sheet.
She looked at it askance as she read the information it contained.
"Excu..." She began, but didn't finish the sentence because someone else approached her and grabbed her by the arm.
The person whispered something to the woman.
"I-I understand..." She answered the person.
I received a star-shaped pin from the woman standing behind the counter. I pinned the pin to my uniform and left the building.
I began to wander along the Sonill market. The woman also told me where to go.
How on earth did they accept these papers? I don't know if they just don't care who they accept, or if they're blind. I filled in two of the fifteen gaps on the document.
After a while of walking I reached the point. I was on the far outskirts of the city. The border of the capital, with the forest of the Beast. This is where one of the knights' headquarters was located, the one in front of me is for novices.
I didn't know what to do with myself, it was the only idea I had to kill the boredom. I lied to Lytia then, telling her that I didn't have time to explain anything to her. It was my excuse, because I didn't feel like talking to her.I entered the tent marked "entrance". I showed them my badge and they automatically let me through.
"Hey you weakling, quickly go change and join the ranks, everyone is waiting for you!" A muscular man shouted at me from a distance.
I did as he ordered me and joined the ranks. There were other novices like me standing here. There is one significant difference between me and them. I laughed quietly when I thought about it.
"Don't laugh when we're standing on guard! Not only are you late, but you're not listening to my orders!" The same man said then.
I stopped laughing.I've only been here 5 minutes and this fat guy already has a problem with me. Why is everyone staring at me? I'll ignore it.
"Everyone probably knows why they're here!" The muscular man shouted, walking with his hands folded along the line.
As for the differences between the recruits and me..."The training will be intense and we'll start tomorrow morning."...Unlike them, I can use a sword very well..."Any lateness to training is taken into account, 2 lateness and you're out."
...This is going to be great fun.
I wasn't listening to what the man was saying.
I wanted to laugh at the thought of how funny it would be, but I immediately covered my mouth with my hand. I got scared because when I did that the man was walking past me. I looked like I saw a big spider.
The man stood in front of me and stared at me in silence. I didn't know what to do so I kept my hand over my mouth, with a terrified expression. The fat man bowed to be at my height and looked straight into my eyes.
"I see we already have the first willing who wants to fly out." He said firmly.
I've made quite a reputation for myself, for my first day.
I dropped my hand. The man walked away from me and stood in the middle in front of everyone.
"Your group consists of 20 people."
"There is one thing that distinguishes your group from the others so far.""From what I managed to find out, there are 2 people here with type AB, which is a record for the last 10 years."
What AB? Does he mean blood type?
I could feel the surprise of the others around me. I guess this really is something incredible.
"Usually there is no one with type AB, 3 years ago there was one person, and now two people in one group."
"Back to the topic, the rank depends on you, as you advance you will receive stars as follows."
* - Recruit
** - Knight
*** - Soldier
****-Warrior
****** - Royal Knight
"To be a full-fledged knight you need to have at least 2 stars, and the highest rank is a King's Knight, there are seven of them in all of Limervan.""I also know that some of you are here only because of the right to use weapons. The government has specially made the same course for knights and those on the right, because there are defects in the ranks. They probably think that some of you will change your mind and join us."
After the speech, everyone went in the designated direction. He told everyone to go to the tents. Personally, I didn't feel like sitting with some losers, so I went to my goal. I turned off my presence with my ability and marched around the facility.
I haven't lived among people for a long time. I remember those times when I did whatever I wanted on other planets. If I don't do anything, this freedom may end soon.
I remembered the fight with Rapb and the injury he inflicted on me.
Unfortunately, not everything ends happily.
(The perspective of the people in the tent.)
The guys inside one of the tents were getting to know each other and showing off their weapons. One said he had type AB, to which everyone didn't believe him. One person sat to the side and wondered what he was doing here at all, he didn't talk to anyone, and the others to him.
A lieutenant entered the tent. Everyone suddenly stood at attention, except for one person.
"Which one of you is some Sefyus, or however you pronounce that hieroglyph?" He shouted.
Silence and no one answers the question.
The man gets angry and walks away."Do we even have someone like that in the tent? " Someone asked.
The person sitting on the side made a sour face, it was Nave. He got here by accident, because he used a weapon in a public place. At that moment, the knights gave him two options, either he would go here or he would stay in the dungeons. He himself wondered what he was doing here. The current problem was that Nave did not manage to hear the name, spoken by the man. He remembered the situation with that girl. He had something that he was looking for at all costs. Now he is not able to find it because he is sitting here and wasting time.
(Fidelia's perspective)
20 minutes ago.Fidelia sat down at the table with coffee and took the papers in her hands. She was interested in this month's recruits, because of 2 people with the AB type.A muscular man sat down next to Fidelia, he was supposed to train the group that Fidelia was interested in.
"I hope I'm not interrupting."
"Since when are you interested in recruits? I thought knights like you didn't have time for such nonsense."
"That's not nonsense." She denied." These are people who will represent our continent on the border with Ephezone."
"Are you already thinking about war? They're just recruits. Back to the topic, which one caught your attention?""Hmph, 2 people with the AB type is something incredible, when it comes to your second question. Regarding the first one, I've seen soldiers not knowing who they're putting in the dungeons." "What do you mean?""I saw how they confused an innocent girl with a possessed creature.""We should change the subject. If it's about the person I'm interested in..."Fidelia flipped through the papers in her hands, looking for a specific person."Fenris, I'm interested in him." She announced.
She pointed to the document containing information about him."He's still a student, true. He goes to the Eriau Academy, that's why I have such expectations for him. I also heard that he's the school president, he's probably a great student and can do a lot.""Right, I was interested in him too.""I heard that they reduced the amount of data needed to become a knight due to the small number of applicants.""Hm? I heard something like that too..." He said, but suddenly he saw the document that Fidelia was holding.
The document was completely blank. There were only two pieces of information on it."Can you explain to me what this means? " She asked firmly, sending shivers down the man's spine.
He reacted immediately. He took the cards with the data about the person in question.
"There is not a single piece of information about what family he comes from, where he lives, or what he looks like."
"Se.... Sefyus...? Fourteen years old." The man read the data as if it were written in another language.
"Not only do we know nothing about him, he is some kind of child! He should be going to school. If we send him to the front line, he will lose his whole life ahead of him."
"I apologize for the trouble, I will try to resolve this misunderstanding." He replied.
