LUNA'S POV:
"I am so excited. Finally, after 10 fuckin' years, I am finally reunited with my best friend. We're gonna have so much fun, first we'll...", I listened as my best friend chattered on and on. Honestly speaking, I wish I could share that same intensity of enthusiasm as her, bit I can't. I still have psychological images from this place.
"Uncle Sam, could you please hurry up? We need to get there fast. We can't let Ray get there first", Lovey kept pressing on making Uncle Sam, my driver, chuckle heartily.
And yes, my best friend's name is Lovey, Lovelyn Harrison actually, I've called her Lovey since childhood and don't ask me why.
Actually, Lovey is my life, my everything. She's one of the reasons why I haven't ended my life yet.
One of the reasons why, I made my self stronger.
And one of the reasons why I'm not going to give up on life.
I don't really have many friend. All the people who normally befriended me always did it for either my money, status ,or something else. And they'd always try to bully Lovey when I wasn't around. And me being the hot-headed person I am, I'd get angry and beat them up.
"Hello, earth to Luny. Are u even listening to me", Lovey said pulling me back to reality.
"Huh? Sorry, I just zoned out a bit. What were we saying again", I apologetically said to her.
"We? I have been the only one talking throughout this ride. Are you sure you're okay, Luny?",oh no she getting worried again.
"Yes,why?", was the only thing that I could say.
"We're here, kids", Uncle Sam chuckled.
"Look we here, let's hurry and pick a room", I jolted out of the door, wanting to end this conversation even before it began. But after taking a few steps into the house I found myself stuck in one place, unable to move again.
AUTHOR'S POV:
She couldn't take another step. Luna just stood there looking at her old house. The house where her sweet childhood began. The house which was filled with sweet memories had now turned into her nightmare. Everything here had now turned bitter.
She could've allowed her dad by another house but she chose not to. Not because they didn't have money, of course not, they were filthy rich. Its just that she wanted to face her fears.
"Hey Luny, are you okay", Lovelyn said pulling her hand softly.
"I'm fine Lovey, relax", Luna said trying to reassure Lovelyn, more like convince herself.
"Are you sure you can do this?".
"Yes, of course. But it looks like Ray has already been here. But he hasn't quite chosen a room yet", Luna said trying to loosen up the atmosphere a bit.
With that Lovelyn bolted up the stairs in a quest to find a big and nice enough room for her best friend leaving Luna in her own thoughts.
Luna knew somehow she had to face fears in this house, she had to overcome it. She had come this far just to make herself stronger than ever. All of this she did to protect the people she loved. To protect herself, her dad ,Ray and mostly Lovey.
"AHHHH!!!...", her thoughts are interrupted by a piercing scream from upstairs.
LUNA'S POV:
"Fuck! Who the hell is screaming like that. Are they trying to...Oh My Fuck, Lovey", I grab my brother's cricket bat that he left behind and bolt up the stairs.
On reaching where the screaming was coming from, I see Lovey standing at the door of one of the rooms. She was just standing there with her mouth open.
Seriously, she almost gave me heart attack.
"What the hell Lovey. You literally scared the living daylight out of me. Why were...",I get to the door and I'm unable to finish my sentence. The door to that room was left open and what was in that room was simply a sight to behold. This was the house's master bedroom.
The room was painted white with grey curtains and furnitures. A big king-size bed, a grey study table with white shelves, a walk-in closet, a white and grey coloured dressing table and a bathroom. The carpet in the room was grey and furry, giving that soft and comfortable feeling when walking on it barefooted. And what caught my eye was a particularly stunning white guitar standing at center of the room. That was my mom's favourite and it used to be red.
With tears in my eyes, I got closer and saw a note stuck on it. It said,
'If you can't change the past,
Just renew it,
Just how this red guitar was able to become white,
You can also get rid of the red in your life,
And make it as spotless as snow,
Just one more push'
- Sincerely, R.M.
And that was all it took for me to burst into tears of joy.
'This brother of mine', I couldn't help but chuckle.
Just then my dad's call came in.
