Chapter 2 - Hello,silence (chapter 1)

Shan pov:

"Shan, my son, I want you to become an excellent pianist when you grow up." My mother said with a smile after telling me that. I was thrilled to become a pianist and visited my aunt every day to learn piano.

We were struggling financially, just my mother and I living in a small house. You might wonder where my father is; he left us when I was seven years old.

My mother always watched me play the piano, and it was a blessing from her. She loved me dearly, and I loved her just the same. We agreed on everything.

"Mama, why do you love piano so much?" I asked without hesitation, and she replied immediately.

"There are many reasons, my child. First, you're grandfather never allowed me to learn music instruments, but when you developed my passion, I will not stop you to became a popular pianist"

My mother held and kissed me on the forehead.

As I played the piano, my mother suddenly told me to hide in the cabinet. She was shouting while talking to someone, and I heard their conversation.

"What are you doing here?!" my mother asked.

"I have nowhere to go... I have no money," the other person replied.

Hearing those voices again.I recalled all the trauma,my mother and I faced since then. I covered my ears with earpods.

3rd person/Narrative pov:

Shan's mother shouted at his father, "Are you only coming back when you need us?! Why?! Are you gonna punch us again?!,where is your mistress?!"

Shan's father grabbed his mother's neck, his eyes blazing with anger. "Do you have new lover huh?!. Do you not want me anymore?!" he yelled.

Shan peeked around the corner, and his eyes widened in horror as he saw his father strangling his mother. Paralyzed with fear, he couldn't move or speak.

His father's grip tightened, and Shan's mother struggled to break free. Shan's eyes locked onto the terrifying scene, wondering how his father could be so cruel.

As Shan watched in terror, his father noticed him. "Shan, my child, don't you want to come with me? Do you want to be like your mother?" he sneered.

Shan's mother intervened, her voice trembling. "Shan, get away from here! Don't come here! Stay away!"

Shan's father snarled, brandishing a knife. "If I stab you, will you learn?!" He threatened Shan's mother, who desperately tried to escape his grasp. Suddenly Shan's father was about to come to him

Shan's legs trembled, and he tried to flee, but his fear rooted him in place. His mother grabbed his father's arm, pleading.

"Don't touch my child—"

Shan's eyes widened as he witnessed his father stab his mother. "If you hadn't do this to me, I wouldn't do this to you "he spat.

Shan's tears fell as he sees his mother struggling

Shan's cry echoed through the room. "Mother... don't leave me! Sorry... Mother.. mother!!!"

Shan woke up from deeply sleep..it was a dream again.

Shan pov:

I suddenly stood up from my bed and took sleeping pills from my cabinet. "It's happening again," I told myself.

I opened my phone and listened to piano tones through my headset. The sleeping pills had no effect; hearing songs could put me to sleep.

I want to play the piano, but it was nighttime, and my aunt was already asleep. I couldn't sleep all night, haunted by the dark past and traumatized by my father's senseless actions, including killing my mother.

"Shan! Wake up, you have school!" my aunt said.shit it's already morning?

I've been living with my aunt (my mother's sister) since I was 10, after my mother's death.

"Yes, I'm going downstairs," I replied, getting out of bed with no sleep, excited for my first day at a new school where I could play piano. My previous school didn't support musical lesson like piano, guitar and others.

So my aunt transfered me to another school that supports my passion.

"Good morning, Aunt!" I said.

She told me to eat quickly as I was running late. My aunt has been very kind to me since I was a child; she and my mother were my strongest supporters.

"Aunt, I'm off to school!" I called out.

'Be careful!" she replied.

I boarded the bus and told the driver where I was headed. I arrived at school in under 20 minutes.

Eager to find the piano room, I searched for a map near the school gate. "I don't get it; this map is useless!" I complained, feeling frustrated.

After wandering around the school, I couldn't find the piano room. "Should I ask for help?" I wondered.

Why am I so dump? for not thinking of it sooner, I looked for someone to ask. I spotted a boy reading a book near the court.

"Uhm... Excuse me, can I ask something?" I said, but he didn't seem to hear me.

"Excuse me? May I ask?" I repeated.

Was he deaf or pretending?

"EXCUSE ME?!" I raised my voice.

Finally, he looked up and said, "You're being loud."

I composed myself and asked, "May I ask something?"

He replied, "No questions allowed here; that's the school rule."

What kind of rule is that? No asking questions?!

I regretted transferring schools. Even asking a question are not allowed?! "You should have told me sooner! I wasted my time."

The boy didn't even look up from his book, seeming arrogant, as if he owned the school.

I wandered the halls, searching for the elusive piano room. Every door I passed led to classrooms, offices, or auditoriums, but no piano room. Frustration grew within me.

I recalled the boy's words: "No questions allowed here; that's the school rule." I didn't want to break any rules, so I refrained from asking fellow students for help.

Time slipped away, unnoticed. My focus was on finding that piano room.

As I turned a corner, I studied the school map on the wall. Maybe I missed something. But the map only seemed to confuse me more.

I approached a window, gazing out at the courtyard. Why was this so difficult?

Suddenly, the school bell rang, signaling the start of classes.

Panic set in – I was late!

Rushing to find my first class, I realized I had no idea where it was either.

"Great start, Shan," I said to myself, frustrated.

I hurried through the corridors, hoping to stumble upon a familiar face or a classroom with my name on it.

But every door led to unfamiliar faces and subjects.

Desperate, I consulted the school map again. Maybe I could find the administration office and ask for help.

As I sprinted down the hallway, I collided with a teacher.

"Sorry, sir. I'm new here. I'm lost," I admitted.

He smiled kindly. "Welcome, Shan. You're late for my class. Let's hurry."

Relieved, I followed him.

I stepped on our room,I admitted I'm so nervous introduce my self

"Hi everyone! My name is Shan natachai, you can call me han as my nickname" I said with nervous.

I accidently glance to the boy who was sitting beside the window. He seems so familiar.

ohh!! The boy I asked for help earlier.

He so arrogant,he's glance pissed me off

During class, my mind wandered to the piano, imagining the melodies I would play.

But guilt crept in – "I still hadn't found the music room."

After the bell rang, signaling the end of class, I approached the teacher.

"Sir, may I ask something?" I ventured, hoping I wasn't breaking the rule.

He smiled. "Of course, Shan."

"Ohh,I can ask a question?" My teacher giggles "of course you can ask!" Did the boy I asked earlier lied to me?!..ugh I want to punch him

"Where is the music room?" I asked hesitantly.

"Third floor, west wing," he replied with a smile.I exhaled deeply, relieved.

As I left the classroom, thinking to assuming the "no questions" rule had caused my stress.

Determined to find the piano room, I rushed to the third floor.

Finally, I pushed open the door and stepped inside.

The sight of the piano took my breath away.

I had found my haven.

"Mhm..What song would I play.." I asked my self.

"Ahh!!" I played the song I really like that I could die for it.

Hearing the tones of this song feel me realived. You wonder that song I played? It's my own song I called it "Heaven"

As I turned a corner in the hallway, I collided with a familiar figure - Avikiel (I sees his name tags);the boy I had asked for directions earlier.

"Hello," I said, attempting to be friendly.

But Avikiel's expression remained icy. He didn't respond, didn't even acknowledge me.

The hallway fell silent, with students around us staring.

I felt a surge of embarrassment.

Why was he ignoring me? Ugh he so arrogant like he own the school

I took a deep breath, calming myself.

"Okay, no problem," I thought.

Avikiel continued walking, leaving me standing there.

I watched him go, trying to understand his behavior.

I rolled my eyes to him.

I shook my head, focusing on my own day.

As I walked away, I noticed the stares lingering on me.

Whispers began to circulate.

"Who's that guy?" someone asked.

"I don't know, but Avikiel totally shut him down."

I quickened my pace, uncomfortable with the attention.

Why did Avikiel's reaction bother me?

"I'm hungry,Where the canteen"

I'm finding the canteen but I couldn't because I was new here.

Later, someone approached me.

"Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, noticing my expression.

He seems kind. "I'm lost,Where is the canteen?" I asked

He answered "you don't remember me? I'm your classmate!" I smile awkward "Ahh y-your my classmate *smile*"

"Of for you question. The canteen is just there

You can come with me"

"Hey your just new here, but every student talking about you" I'm confused?

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You've been everyone topic....you know *he whispered* they we're talking about you on how you said Hi to Avikiel" I laughed

"What? That it?!" I laught quietly

"I'm so friendly earlier but he didn't reply? He thinks he own this school" I said... they've been talking about me about just for that? Haha this school is really

"Well you know Shan,he seems like he really own the school" I'm confused and ask this question "what do you mean?"

"Hays Shan..HE IS THE SON OF CHAIRMAN AVI CHEL WHO OWN THIS SCHOOL.."

What?!?! Did I just make my own trouble?

"I was just saying hi," I said.

My friend responded, "Yeah, but it's just weird saying hi to him"

While I ate, my friend whispered, "You're the first person to approach him. He usually only talks to his close friends."

"And you're a transferee, which makes it even worse."

I didn't care on what he said and continue to eat.

" You seems not worry" he said to me.

"Ugh I want to play piano" My friend gasped "Yeah you never care" I didn't response him.
