Jay was still riding high from his encounter with Amelia, but his night took an unexpected turn when he got a new ride request on Drivio. He was on his way home, but he figured one last ride wouldn't hurt, especially since the rewards tended to roll in after encounters with particularly challenging passengers.
The destination popped up: Starlight Hotel. He accepted the ride and pulled over, waiting until a man in a designer suit—complete with an arrogant expression—yanked open the door and climbed in without a word.
"About time," the man sneered, clearly annoyed by the nonexistent delay. He settled in, eyeing the interior of Jay's Aston Martin with a mix of disdain and envy. "Is this really your car or have you robbed it?" He asked rudely.
Jay replied that this is most certainly his car and didn't robbed it.
Jay clenched his jaw but didn't respond, hoping this ride would end as quickly and smoothly as possible. Unfortunately, the man kept finding faults in everything: the seat wasn't comfortable enough, the music wasn't to his liking, and the route, though perfectly efficient, apparently wasn't up to his standards.
When they finally arrived at the grand entrance of the Starlight Hotel, Jay took a deep breath, preparing for a swift goodbye. But the man didn't get out. Instead, he remained seated, scrolling through his phone as though Jay were his personal chauffeur.
"Are you planning on leaving?" Jay asked calmly, giving the man a look in the rearview mirror.
The man finally glanced up, scowling. "Obviously, I'm not done yet. You'll wait until I'm ready. I'm a VIP at this hotel, and they know how to treat their guests properly."
Jay smirked. He was getting tired of dealing with rude passengers, and this guy seemed like he needed a reality check. Jay got out of the car, walked around to the entrance, and signaled to one of the hotel staff, who quickly got the attention of the manager.
The manager, Mr. Fischer, approached them with his usual efficiency. "Sir, is everything alright?"
Jay nodded, then gestured towards the man in his car. "This gentleman claims he's a VIP and insists on lingering, but he doesn't quite seem to understand the hotel's code of conduct.
Mr. Fischer's eyes narrowed as he took in the situation. Without another word, he walked over, opened the car door, and firmly instructed the man to exit. "Sir, I'll have to ask you to leave. The hotel prioritizes guests who respect our staff and policies."
The man sputtered in disbelief, finally stepping out. "You—you can't be serious! Do you know who I am?" he blustered.
"Yes, I know who you are," the manager replied coolly, his tone mirroring the rude man's attitude. "But this gentleman here is the owner of the restaurant, and he has no intention of allowing anyone who disrespects our staff or policies to stay."
The man's face went pale, eyes widening in disbelief as he stammered, "He...he's the owner?!"
He looked from the manager to Jay, struggling to process what he'd just heard. His shock quickly morphed into frustration, and he refused to budge, his stubborn pride refusing to let him admit defeat.
Seeing the situation escalate, Jay calmly signaled for a security guard. But as the man grew more aggressive, even the guard struggled to handle him. Jay clenched his jaw, realizing the disturbance was spiraling out of control, and, without hesitation, he called the police. Voices raised, tension thickened, and just as things were on the verge of turning physical, the unmistakable sound of sirens pierced the air, bringing a sudden, uneasy stillness over the scene.
After solving the situation jay thought To himself that the hotel needed a more professional security service .
Moments later, his Drivio app notified him of yet another one-star review, and he barely held back a chuckle. He knew by now what was coming next.
System Update!
Congratulations, Jay!
Due to your patience and integrity in handling another challenging customer, you have been rewarded with ownership of a private security company.
Reward :100% shares of Iron Fortress Security company.
Worth : 10,000,000$
Jay's heart raced as he stared at the notification, hardly believing it. Just a few moments ago, he'd been hoping for better security to protect his hotel. Now, he didn't just get security guards—he owned the entire security company.
He let out a deep breath, a smile slowly spreading across his face. Somehow, the system always seemed to know exactly what he needed, right when he needed it. The excitement and relief mixed together, making him feel like anything was possible.
Jay felt a thrill at the new reward but quickly brushed off the details—he could look into the company more closely later. Excited to see what this new addition entailed, he dialed the number provided in the system's notification to get in touch with the Iron Fortress team.
A moment later, a calm voice answered, "Iron Fortress Security. This is Mr. Grant, head of operations."
"Hello, Mr. Grant. This is Jay, the new owner," Jay introduced himself. "I'd like to arrange for a few of your personnel to provide security at my villa and at the Starlight Hotel."
"Of course, Mr. Jay," Mr. Grant replied smoothly. "We'll have them on-site by the end of the evening. And as the new owner, I thought you might like to know about some of our clients."
Jay raised an eyebrow. "Go on."
"We currently handle security for several of the city's most influential figures, including Senator Price, the media mogul Ellen Hargrove, and the tech entrepreneur Marcus Hill."
Jay whistled, impressed. These were powerful names, and knowing that Iron Fortress was trusted by the city's elite only cemented his decision to integrate their services with his growing assets.
"Thank you, Mr. Grant. I'll be looking forward to seeing them soon," Jay said, already feeling the weight of his new responsibility—but with it, the satisfaction of knowing he had the means to back it up.
After the call, he leaned back, thinking over the night's developments. With a new security team, the Starlight Hotel and his villa would be safer than ever, and as he grew more accustomed to this new life, he realized he was more than ready for whatever came next.
