At that moment, the Spark mission panel displayed a new update, prompting Feng Mo to check immediately. As always, the Spark system didn't disappoint.
[Temporary Mission: Conquer the Lihuang Sub-Starfield and eradicate the New Humanity Church. Reward: 100,000 points, T6 Lushu-Class Interstellar Carrier Design Blueprint.]
Simultaneously, a previous temporary mission had been marked as completed.
[Temporary Mission: The New Humanity Church, still fixated on something within the Beast Roar System, has sent fleets multiple times despite being defeated. Please ensure none of them return. (Completed) Reward: 10,000 points, T6 Langniao-Class Interstellar Destroyer Design Blueprint.]
Feng Mo claimed his reward.
[Reward claimed successfully: 10,000 points, T6 Langniao-Class Interstellar Destroyer Design Blueprint x1]
As usual, Feng Mo reviewed the specifications of this new ship.
T6 Langniao-Class Interstellar Destroyer:
Armor Strength: 8,300 units
Hull Dimensions: 5.6 km x 1.2 km x 1.1 km
Speed: 570 knots
Warp Engine: Level 6
Dark Energy Matrix Shield: Level 6, 100%
Weaponry: T6 Clustered Planetary Annihilation Cannons x2, T6 Planetary Annihilation Cannons x4, T6 Neutron Auxiliary Cannons x8, T6 Dark Energy Missile Launch Tubes x10, Shipborne Missiles x100
As Feng Mo scanned the specifications, he gasped slightly. Most features were standard until he saw the T6 Dark Energy Missiles—a new type of missile boasting more than five times the power of standard T6 interstellar missiles.
Each Langniao-Class destroyer could carry a hundred of these missiles, though it had only ten launch tubes. Feng Mo could easily imagine a single Dark Energy Missile tearing a quasi-T6 starship to shreds, its shields utterly useless.
Intrigued by this weapon, Feng Mo wondered if the launchers on the recently built T6 Jiaolong ships could support it. If they could, building a large batch of these missiles would make it possible to wipe out an entire enemy fleet in one strike.
This led him to brainstorm with Alisa, wondering whether they could retrofit a T5 Pegasus-class for this purpose. Alisa shared a similar vision, and they began a heated debate over which ship model to modify.
Feng Mo favored a retrofit of a T5 Pegasus-class interstellar missile ship, imagining the thrill of launching a thousand T6 Dark Energy Missiles at once. Alisa, however, suggested modifying a T6 Jiaolong. In the end, neither plan went forward, as both were deterred by the staggering construction costs. A hundred T6 Dark Energy Missiles cost as much as a single T5 Sword Dragon ship.
The cost of mass-producing such missiles would be astronomical. Feng Mo concluded that this firepower wasn't feasible for the current Storm Empire—at least not until he conquered the entire Lihuang Sub-Starfield.
With that realization, Feng Mo snapped back to his mission. His territories within the Federation were already vast, but his economy was constrained by the lack of accumulated resources. Expanding his domain could address that.
Resolving to tackle the Lihuang Sub-Starfield, Feng Mo was determined to eradicate the New Humanity Church once and for all. That faction, brainwashed and fanatical, was like a swarm of pests, always finding ways to disrupt.
After finalizing plans with Alisa, they directed the fleet of starship engineers to begin construction of the T6 Langniao-Class Destroyers. Feng Mo also used 10,000 points to redeem the T5 Beryllium Copper-Class Interstellar Mech.
T5 Beryllium Copper-Class Interstellar Mech:
Armor Strength: 1,000 units
Mech Height: 99 m
Mech Speed: 200 knots
Engine: T5 Dark Energy Engine
Weapons: T5 Neutron Cannon x2, T5 Dark Energy Laser Gun x1, T5 Micro Interstellar Missiles x100, T5 Particle Blade x2
This new T5 mech surpassed the T4 model in both performance and weaponry. Feng Mo ordered the construction of five hundred units, enough to outfit the Storm Fleet. Other fleets would have to wait until the Storm Fleet's upgrades were completed. In total, six fleets would need three thousand interstellar mechs.
Time flew by. Over the next year, while the Federation's surface remained calm, Alisa's powerful show of defiance against the Federation had sent shockwaves through the upper ranks. The Federation leaders now clearly understood the strength of the Storm Alliance. With Alisa keeping watch, Feng Mo could focus fully on the new weapons and the T6 Langniao-Class Destroyer, delving into their capabilities and overseeing production.
Due to the novelty of the technology, it took considerable time to master. Constructing the T6 Langniao-Class ships alone consumed over a year and three months, but finally, five of them were completed.
During this period, the Starship Construction Division also upgraded all fleets under Feng Mo's command to T5 starships. Now, the Storm Fleet was a mixed fleet of T6 and T5 ships, while the other five fleets were composed of T5 and T4 ships, with an average fleet size of two thousand vessels. T5 ships made up roughly 20%, with each fleet equipped with specialized ships, including an interstellar missile ship, two stealth bombers, and an interstellar annihilation ship.
While the other fleets couldn't match the specialized arsenal of the Storm Fleet, the resource consumption of these upgrades was enormous. Fortunately, after absorbing three major empires, the Storm Empire could support such a large fleet. Without these additional territories, it would have been impossible to build so many T5 starships, let alone T6 vessels, which cost five times as much.
Previously, the Western Zone's three empires had only seven T5 fleets combined, with very few specialized starships. Their territories could barely sustain those fleets.
Now, the Storm Empire's territory could support six T5 fleets with numerous specialized ships, though it was barely enough. At this point, currency had become meaningless to Feng Mo; resources were the true need. The three empires he had absorbed contained less than ten T5 resource planets in total, with very few T6-grade raw materials.
Feng Mo was left with no choice but to exchange resources with the Federation. Initially, they agreed to trade, but after the Storm Alliance was formed, the Federation began limiting supplies.
Fortunately, Feng Mo had gathered all the T6 materials from the Storm Alliance's four empires. However, the construction of Zhuyan, the five T6 Langniao-class ships, and the ten T6 Jiaolong ships had nearly exhausted his T6 materials.
It wasn't that Feng Mo didn't want to build more; he simply didn't have the resources. The Federation itself had only two T6 resource planets, which were heavily protected, and had stockpiled large amounts of T6 materials over the years. Reports claimed those two planets alone could supply the Federation for another thousand years, a resource Feng Mo couldn't help but covet.
