Chapter 142 - Chapter 142: Return with Spoils

While battling, Feng Mo opened a communication line with Ai Er.

"Ai Er, dispatch ten T3 transport ships from the Storm Star System immediately!"

Z227 was littered with insectoid corpses—a rich resource Feng Mo wasn't about to waste. The Beast Roar Prime Star still had two powerful entities waiting to consume these corpses, and he didn't want to leave empty-handed.

Suddenly, he made a small miscalculation and was swallowed whole by a twenty-meter-long insectoid. However, a split second later, a black laser shot out from his T4 Black Star armor, piercing through the insectoid and continuing through over a hundred more before dissipating.

This was the power of the upgraded T4 Black Star armor. His arm cannon could now vary energy output, allowing Feng Mo to regulate his attacks. The previous shot had used less than one percent of his armor's energy. If he had unleashed its full capacity, the cannon would rival the main gun of the Hurricane. The Black Star armor, crafted from dark matter alloy and powered by dark energy crystals, was indeed a force to be reckoned with.

Moving through the swarm like a whirlwind, Feng Mo slashed down insectoids of all sizes in one strike. The shape-shifting memory metal of his armor morphed into various cold weapons, complementing his Level-3 gene-enhanced strength, piercing the insectoid tide.

Looking back, he saw the path he had carved—a green, blood-soaked channel, bordered by a swarm now much thinner. Deciding to go all out, he soared into the air, forming a pale blue energy sphere in his hand, crackling with electromagnetic energy.

"Electromagnetic Railgun Blast!"

This technique, derived from his arm cannon, concentrated his armor's energy, charging and releasing it in a powerful blast.

"Boom!"

The blue beam struck the center of the insectoid horde, triggering an explosion that leveled the area within a kilometer. The ground itself sank several meters. The blast consumed seventy percent of the armor's stored energy.

Aboard the Hurricane, cadets and instructors watched in awe as the blue beam descended, causing a massive explosion. They marveled at the strength of the T4 Black Star armor.

"Wow, he's incredible!" Gu Yanyan exclaimed, eyes wide with amazement.

After finishing his display, Feng Mo activated his thrusters and returned to the Hurricane's control room, where he asked Han Peipei, "Has Mello sent word yet? When can we start the second bombardment?"

Han Peipei glanced at Mello's message. "Mello says they need at least forty more minutes."

"Good. Inform Mello that in forty minutes, the Hurricane and Mastodon will join the T4 Scorpions for a full assault on the mother ships outside the planet. Also, patch me through to the Federation fleet commander."

"Yes, sir!" Han Peipei promptly connected to the Federation commander. Once connected, Feng Mo got straight to the point:

"To which empire and fleet do you belong? What's your rank?"

The rapid questions seemed to catch the other commander off guard, but he quickly responded.

"Reporting to you, Duke Feng Mo. The Black Knight Fleet, under the Meteor Empire's T4 division. Colonel Cheng Xianqing reporting!"

Cheng Xianqing saluted sharply. He held deep respect for this young Duke, the Federation's youngest starship designer, and the lord of two star systems.

The Meteor Empire was one of the northern Federation's four major empires, commanding three star systems—one large and two medium-sized, a force about ten times larger than Feng Mo's holdings. Yet, Feng Mo owned his star systems personally, while these belonged to an empire. Feng Mo's position now carried weight comparable to a councilor, and he could easily trade his territories for such a role in the Yunshan Empire.

"Four ships from the Storm Fleet are resupplying at the Northern Sky Gate. They'll return in forty minutes. In the meantime, I need you to launch a full assault on the mother ships surrounding Z227. The Hurricane and Mastodon will assist. Understood?"

With a crisp salute and raised voice, Cheng Xianqing replied, "Black Knight Fleet receives orders! Cheng Xianqing reporting for duty!"

Feng Mo ended the call and issued his own orders:

"Deploy all drones from Mastodon to eliminate all insectoids on Z227's surface. Hurricane, prepare to engage the mother ships!"

The Hurricane, a quasi-T5 ship, faced a swarm of over three thousand mother ships surrounding Z227, mostly T2 and T1 classes with few T3s remaining after the Scorpions and Black Knight Fleet's bombardment.

Emerging from the atmosphere, Feng Mo saw the dense river of mother ships—like an endless stream, with the Hurricane resembling a lone boat on its surface.

"Alert! Mother ship swarm detected ahead. Radar scan complete: 134 T3-class, 1,340 T2-class, and 1,970 T1-class mother ships."

The swarm loomed like an interstellar beast. But the Hurricane, fearless, was prepared to vanquish it. The massive swarm opened its maw, and the Hurricane dove straight into the heart of the insectoid fleet.

In an instant, the radar was flooded with mother ship signals. Calmly, Feng Mo issued his combat orders:

"Charge all primary and secondary cannons. Activate auto-targeting; prioritize T3 mother ships—fire on sight. Initiate close-range rapid-fire cannons, targeting T2 mother ships."

A single T3 mother ship could pose a greater threat to the Hurricane's shields than a hundred T1 mother ships. Therefore, the high-priority targets were the strongest threats.

The Hurricane boasted 150 close-range rapid-fire cannons, creating a bullet screen that enveloped the ship. Any mother ships that approached were shredded by this wall of fire. In the crowded formation, a single projectile often pierced through multiple T1 mother ships.

At the same time, sixteen secondary cannons locked onto a cluster of mother ships and unleashed a barrage.
