Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Let the Battle Begin

"Everyone, share your thoughts on Viscount Feng Mo's terms," said Chen Changqing, seated at the head of the table, addressing the assembly.

The room remained silent; they knew the final decision rested with the family head, so any input felt unnecessary. It was best to let Chen Changqing decide.

"Alright, since no one has objections, Ziqing will represent the Chen Family in agreeing to this deal. This is a rare opportunity. Dark matter, dark energy, and memory metal are challenging to acquire but not unattainable. Providing them annually to Viscount Feng Mo won't harm the Chen Family significantly," Chen Changqing declared.

"As always, the family's development is our priority. Daughter, inform Viscount Feng Mo that we accept his terms and will commit to gathering these materials."

"Understood, Family Head," replied Chen Muling, leaving the private room. Guided by Little Y, the robot, she returned to the office, approaching Feng Mo's desk.

"Viscount, the Chen Family agrees to your conditions and will dedicate efforts to collect those resources, delivering them each January," Chen Muling announced.

"Excellent, glad to be working together. Ai Er, see our guests out," Feng Mo said, standing to shake Chen Muling's hand with a smile.

"Happy to work together, Viscount. We'll take our leave now," Chen Muling replied, then left with Ai Er.

Feng Mo leaned back in his chair with a sigh of relief. The materials issue was resolved; now it was time to deal with the Stormstar System. The final confrontation was drawing near.

Over the next seven days, the Bisi Tribe, supported by three T3 fleets, relentlessly pursued the Elven forces. They succeeded in driving the Elves off P459, a strategic resource-rich planet. Both sides suffered casualties, with the Elves hit hardest. The Bisi Tribe sustained lighter losses, bolstered by their allies. But the T4-class warship Feng Mo anticipated had yet to appear.

March 23, Year 7492, Federation Calendar.

The Elven Tribe officially declared allegiance to Viscount Feng Mo. At the same time, the Stormbringer Fleet set out for P459.

Feng Mo had a strategy: "This must be the first and last battle—a decisive engagement." Before setting off, he had a secretive half-hour video meeting with Chu Yunshan.

On the bridge of the Stormbringer:

"According to the Yunshan Trading Network's intelligence, the Bisi Alliance Fleet comprises 1,374 ships: 1,100 T2-class vessels and 274 T3-class ships," Leika reported to Feng Mo and the Elven Queen. The Queen had insisted on observing this pivotal battle from the Stormbringer.

"With our two T3 Punisher-class missile ships, their T2-class ships aren't a concern. The real threat is that elusive T4 destroyer. Without knowing its specs, we're at risk. Even the Stormbringer would struggle under its main battery's fire," Feng Mo noted.

To prepare, Feng Mo had stocked both T3 Punishers with a full complement of missiles. The financial burden was immense, and without the 30 million star coins he secured from the Xueying Bai Family, he would have gone bankrupt. Dividends from his company were quarterly, and most previous profits had funded starship construction.

The two T3 Punishers, their ammunition, and ten T3 transport ships had collectively cost nearly 6 million star coins—a true financial drain.

At P459, the Bisi Tribe had established a T3 planetary defense system, also supplied by the Xueying Bai Family. A massive fleet of over a thousand ships surrounded the planet. The most imposing was a 1.3-kilometer-long, rust-brown T4-class destroyer, showing signs of age but still formidable.

In P459's starport, a cloaked figure watched the massive fleet from a holoscreen, eyes burning with hatred. Feng Mo, I've come for revenge!

The new Bisi King, meanwhile, wore a troubled expression. Under their agreement, the Bisi Tribe had to cover all supply costs for the fleet, including repairs and provisions for nearly 300,000 crew members. The expenses of maintaining over a thousand ships were bleeding him dry.

In a virtual meeting, the four fleet commanders gathered. The Bisi King, aware of his puppet status, wisely stayed silent, nodding when spoken to and agreeing to everything.

Apart from the Bisi King, three other commanders were present. The first was a scholarly young man in a moon-white robe and golden glasses, notable for his lack of ear shells. This was Liang Guan, a notorious commander in Chaos Starsea's adventuring circles, infamous for his ruthless tactics.

Despite his refined appearance, Liang Guan was a killer. He had been trained as an operative by the Bai Family from a young age, handling covert operations for them.

To Liang Guan's left sat Sarah, a 2.3-meter-tall bear-like half-beast woman. Her massive hands and black-brown fur made her a fearsome sight. During the Federation's war with the Beastmen, the half-beast population suffered greatly, making Sarah's feat of leading a T3 fleet impressive.

The last figure was a scrawny, shifty human known only as Moushu. Despite his unimposing appearance, he was a brilliant strategist, skilled in ambushes and deception.

"We all know Liang Guan's loyalty and who he represents. If we take the Stormstar System, the main family will only claim 20% of the profits, leaving the rest for us to split," Liang Guan declared.

"The potential profits are enormous. The Stormbringer Fleet is formidable, but we have the upper hand, especially with our T4 destroyer. We must seize this opportunity," he continued.

When the Stormbringer Fleet arrived at P459, they found over a thousand enemy ships in a crescent formation, ready for battle. The formation was a classic trap, designed to encircle and crush them.

Breaking through would be tough. Any attack on the enemy's front would trigger a pincer maneuver, and hitting the rear would have the same result.

Feng Mo sat in his captain's chair, watching the holographic display. The only ship he truly feared was the T4 destroyer, which now revealed itself under the Stormbringer's radar scan.

"Leika, run a database search using the Imperial system to identify that T4 destroyer's model and armament. Notify Ai Er to prepare for battle," Feng Mo commanded.

Ai Er wasn't on the Stormbringer but aboard the T3 Sealion-class carri

er, the day's secret weapon that would soon shock their enemies.
