Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: “A Second Chance at Life”

3rd POV

A young man in his early twenties walked along the crowded city streets, his mind consumed by a heavy mix of frustration and regret.

Only moments earlier, he'd been dismissed from yet another interview. The reason was painfully familiar: a failed degree and no real job skills to speak of.

His family and friends had always told him he had potential—if only he'd apply himself. But distractions, endless web novels, anime, and late nights online, had kept him far from reality.

The weight of their disappointment seemed to linger around him, unspoken but unmistakable.

Lost in his thoughts, he hardly noticed the cyclist swerving toward him until it was too late. The bike clipped his side, sending him stumbling directly into the path of an oncoming truck.

As the blinding headlights bore down on him, time seemed to slow, and flashes of his life played before his eyes: his parents, his sister, their hopeful faces, the dreams he'd let slip away. I let them down. And then—everything went black.

MC POV

I opened my eyes—or at least I thought I did. All I saw was an endless expanse of white, like I was standing on a blank canvas.

In front of me stood a smooth, featureless figure, yet somehow I felt its gaze, watching me intently.

"Welcome," said a voice, calm and resonant, coming from everywhere and nowhere at once.

"Who… are you?" I managed, my voice unsteady, a shiver running through me.

"Let's just say I'm someone who gives second chances," the figure replied with an almost kind detachment. "How would you describe your life?"

I sighed, feeling the regret heavy in my chest. "Honestly? I wasted it. I had every chance to make something of myself… and I just didn't."

The figure considered this, silent for a moment. Then it spoke. "What if I offered you a chance to go back—to live your life over again?"

I blinked, startled. "A second chance… to fix everything?"

"Yes, but there's one condition," it replied. "I'll grant you a single wish to help you along the way. Choose wisely."

I thought about all the things I had failed at—the skills I had never pursued, the discipline I'd never developed. "If I could have a system," I said slowly, "one that lets me grow stronger with every skill I master, something that levels up as I level up… maybe I could make something of myself this time."

The figure gave a faint nod. "Granted. Go back, live wisely, and remember—this chance is a gift."

The blankness around me began to swirl, pulling me backward, faster and faster, until finally—I opened my eyes once more, blinking at the familiar surroundings of my old bedroom.

I recognized the clutter of my teenage years, the same bed, the same posters on the walls. Sunlight streamed through the window, and a wave of nostalgia hit me. I had gone back. I had a lifetime ahead of me to do things right.

God POV

God chuckled, watching the young man suspended in the blankness of eternity. "Well," he mused with a glint of amusement, "this one should keep me entertained for at least a century." Reclining in his divine seat, he watched as the young man began to stir, now bound to relive his life, a second chance to rewrite his fate.
