Chapter 11 Dormitory

Back to my room, I lay down on the bed and thought about today.

To sum up my first day of school, I learned some basic swordsmanship moves and got a good workout. Thanks to my efforts, Aveline doesn't hold a grudge against me anymore. I feel so relieved.

Other than that, I also learned quite a bit about Elmanar's history. It wasn't very useful for my life, but it satisfied my curiosity. It was quite good.

After thinking about it for a while, I decided to leave the dormitory and practice a bit.

---

[Evening]

"Sigh, that was refreshing tho." I walked out of the bathroom, exhaling a satisfied sigh. The steam from the bathroom billowed out like a paradise.

Sit on the chair, drying my damp hair and making plans for the next day.

'Looks like I should move into the dorms'

Hollis' dormitory was a building built by the academy for both students and teachers. It was naturally divided into two different areas. The facilities of the teacher area were definitely more advanced than the student ones. However, the student dorms are also tiered, with each student assigned to a specific dorm based on their rank.

The student dormitory consisted of four buildings: Bronze - Silver - Gold - Diamond.

Students ranked 1000-501 will be assigned to the Bronze building. Those ranked 500-201 will be in the Silver building. For those ranked 200-21, they'll be in the Gold building. And finally, the Diamond building is reserved exclusively for the top 20 students each year.

Um, and I was assigned to the Bronze building. I was ranked 672.

It's true that the Bronze building doesn't have as good facilities as the other buildings, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Hollis would never treat its students poorly. The rooms there are still fully furnished and quite sturdy, definitely better than the room I'm currently renting. Plus, it's located on campus, which is very convenient for getting around.

As for the three higher-class buildings, the facilities will be gradually upgraded and more resources and tools will be added for students to practice. The dormitory is also one of the reasons why the competitive spirit of students in Hollis is so fierce and intense. Everyone wants to raise their rank to compete for resources. Well, of course, not including me. The Bronze building is enough for a background character like me.

Without a second thought, I got up and started packing my belongings. Tomorrow, I'm moving into the Hollis dormitory.

---

It is currently the morning of September 3rd, I am checking my luggage before starting to move into the dormitory.

Glancing at the sky outside the window, a dark sky.

"Well, it's still early, it's only 5am. There's still more than 3 hours until class starts. It should be enough for me to move into the dormitory." I thought and couldn't help but nod at my own calculations.

It was still very early, the sun hadn't risen yet. Normally, places like dormitories wouldn't open at this hour. But I knew Hollis was different. Their staff always took turns on duty, especially the dormitory, where the continent's top talents resided. It wasn't unusual for them to have people starting to move in this early in the morning.

"Okay, let's go." I said, opened the door and dragged my luggage out of the dormitory.

I had already contacted the landlord that I would be leaving this morning, so I didn't need to inform them anymore, I just needed to bring my things and leave.

On the way to the dormitory, I slowly dragged my suitcase and thought about random things. Memories from the first day I came to this world flashed through my mind. I couldn't help but close my eyes in emotion. The cold morning breeze brushed against my skin, making my mind clearer.

Opening my eyes with determination, I turned towards Hollis.

'New life in the dormitory, here I come!'

[In front of the gate of Area 8 - student dormitory]

It was already dawn, and I could see my surroundings somewhat clearly without relying on the street lights. Stopping in front of the gate of Area 8, I looked up at the buildings behind it.

"Wow, they're so big." I continued to exclaim as I saw the massive buildings before my eyes.

Even though I knew it would be huge, I was still impressed by the buildings that Hollis built.

"Okay. I didn't come here to look." I told myself with determination, regaining my composure.

I quickly dragged my luggage to the security room and showed my student ID card. I said that I was here to move in.

The security guard looked at me and my student ID for a moment and then nodded. He opened the gate and let me in.

I walked inside, nodded slightly to the security guard, and headed towards the Bronze building.

The Bronze building was very close to the dormitory gate, so it didn't take me long to find it. Standing in front of the building, I realized how big it was.

Well, that's right, this building is where the most students are. At least this building must have a capacity of 1,500 people. 500 people per school year.

I quickly entered the building, met the caretaker of the Bronze building and showed my ID. After being approved, I headed straight to my room.

"Let's see, room A205..." I muttered while looking at the map provided on my BracePhone.

After a while of searching, I was now standing in front of my room door. I unlocked the room with my student card and walked inside.

Entering, what caught my eye was a narrow passageway with a built-in wardrobe on the right and a bathroom door on the left. Going deeper inside, I saw a simple bed with a white mattress, a large table with a small bookshelf opposite. Nestled in the corner was a small refrigerator. There was also a large glass door with curtains and behind it was a balcony. The room was not too large but fully furnished. It even had an air conditioning system.

"Damn. Like a hotel room..." I couldn't help but exclaim once again.

I knew that Hollis wouldn't treat its students badly, so the facilities of the Bronze building wouldn't be bad. But I thought it would only be a little better than my previous room, I didn't expect it to be this much.

"Ha... You get what you pay for." I couldn't help but twitch the corners of my lips and let out a sigh.

It was true that the tuition fees were ridiculously high. But compared to what students achieved at Hollis, those tuition fees were really not as expensive as one would think. It was truly worthy of being the continent's top talent training facility.

"If the Bronze building is like this, what must the other buildings be like?"

I couldn't help but think curiously. . A small sense of longing grew inside me. I wanted to be there too.

"No, no, don't think like that. That place doesn't belong to me. I should be content with what I have if I don't want to get into trouble." I slapped my cheek and tried to calm down.

"Ha..." I took a deep breath and quickly started unpacking my suitcase into my new room. I had to hurry to make it to class on time.

---

After a bit of a struggle, I finally got all my things organized. Looking around my room, I smiled contentedly.

"Hmmm, there's still an hour and a half left until class." I looked at the time and muttered.

Looks like I should take a walk around the academy while I wait.

...

'What a big school...'

As I walked, I looked around with a curious gaze. I kept walking aimlessly until I stopped at Area 3, the training area.

"If I remember correctly, Area 3 has a free practice area."

That thought flashed through my mind, I was a bit curious. Without hesitating for too long, I headed towards that area and strode forward. After all, there was still a while until class started.

...

I was walking down the hallway of the free practice area, which was divided into many rooms for students to freely practice their skills. As I walked and observed, I suddenly heard some clear sounds like the sound of metal colliding with each other. Curiosity urged me to walk towards the source of the sound.

I stopped in front of a room at the end of the hallway, the sound was coming from here.

I slowly poked my head in. A tall, toned back with half of his upper body exposed caught my eye.

He had a skin full of vitality. Firm muscles and a well-proportioned body, his clenched fists continuously attacking the mannequin, his back looked extremely majestic like a solid mountain. His long black hair was tied up high with a long white cloth. He wore a pair of long black pants with the waist tightly wrapped with cloth. He looked like a warrior from a Chinese novel.

"Ugh...don't tell me". My face distorted as I finally recognized the person in front of me.

"Who's there?!". Suddenly he turned around, our eyes met.

His piercing black eyes bore into me, sending a chill down my spine. It was as if a venomous serpent were locked in my gaze.

I just stood there, not knowing how to handle this situation.

"I asked, who are you?". His eyes were like arrows piercing through me, extremely sharp. It made me a little scared.

"I...I'm a student of class 1-A. I just happened to pass by here. I didn't mean to peek at your practice". I answered him with a slightly trembling voice. I hoped he would forgive me.

Staring at me for a while, it seemed like he realized I was telling the truth, so he waved his hand to chase me away. I thanked him and quickly left that place. I'm not stupid enough to make a bad impression on him, if he pins me down, I'll die. No joke.

'But I admit he's really handsome. Not inferior to Briar at all'. I'm afraid, but I admit what's right.

Who is he? One of the main characters in Karen's group - Zheng Kai.
