Chapter 1 - Resurrection

Ding...

A near silent twinkling sound popped out of nowhere followed by a dim burst of light that erupted from the ground, rain poured with intensity on the soil on top of where the sound had come from.

A tiny black crystal was deeply planted on the ground where the sound had come from, after a few moments later the crystal showed a few cracks that slowly grew until the crystal started emanating light, after a short while the crystal bursted with a blinding light, easily piercing the ground.

In a few seconds, the light and the gem had slowly disappeared leaving behind a human-like being laying on the ground with a confused expression.

The human's sky blue eyes glowed a beautiful blue color as he looked around his surroundings while breathing heavily. The powerful shower of rain poured on his deep black hair, flowing down to his youthful face and his chiseled naked figure.

Once he regained his composure, he stood on his feet and realized that he was on the edge of a cliff.

He was in a mountainous region with a sparse population, but looking from a far distance, a dozen skyscrapers could be spotted, tall buildings that pierced through the sky, probably over a few kilometers tall.

'I should start making my way to that place, I can figure out the things that happened while I've been gone.' But before he could start his travel, covering his bare figure was his first priority, after all he didn't want to flash someone by accident.

Before he could take any kind of action, the ground he was standing on abruptly shook, destabalizing the ground beneath him.

The rain shower had caused the soil beneath to give in and collapse, causing a landslide and dragging the boy with it.

"F*ck!"

He cursed loudly as he started falling to his doom rather quickly. He had just resurrected and now he was going to die once again.

'No! I can't die yet!'

A grim expression appeared on his face as his mind went into overdrive, while he thought of any possible way to save himself from this predicament.

He pointed his hands to the ground trying to cast a type of spell yet to no avail, he shook his head in denial of the situation before trying to flap his arms like a bird, but none of his actions had any effect.

"Help!"

He yelled at the top of his lungs hoping to attract any kind of attention but from where he is located, nobody is bound to hear his shouts for help.

In a few seconds he hesitantly accepted his fate, his eyes were closed, his body became relaxed, the boy had now accepted the fact that he will reach his doom in a few seconds, hopefully it would be quick and painless, he thought.

But before he could land in a not so fantastic manner, the agony that was surging through his heart had caused him to faint. The pain of not being in control of the situation, the feeling of being powerless, a familiar pain that he had grown used to, a not so pleasant feeling.

The kind of pain that he had wished to flush out from the depths of his heart and soul, to be able to control and deny fate itself, to defy what was suppose to be, but what can he do in this situation? Nothing.

[Creation Of The First Core Finished]

[Acquisition Of The 'Void Crown' Finished]

Deep inside his soul, a pitch black crystal hovered above a sea of crystal blue water. A black sphere spawned right beside it out of nowhere and started pouring a blue mist called mana onto the boy's body hardening it. As the boy fell on the ground his body had miraculously absorbed the blow taking no injuries.

But the soil that had also come crashing down followed suit as it burried the unconscious boy beneath it.

...

After the storm had passed.

Bzzzt. Bzzzt.

"Scanning the perimeter."

A large drone appeared near where the boy was buried before, it initiated a scanning process searching for anyone in need of a rescue. After a quick scan, it had spotted a body buried underneath a pile of soil that had eroded and fallen off the nearby cliff.

The drone was no ordinary scanning device, it was further equipped with the technology to do complex orders such as saving a person that's burried underneath the ground.

Two tentacle like arms stretched from the side of the drone as it flew closer to the ground, with a strong force it started to stretch its arms to reach the boy and grabbed him by the hand.

Now that it had contacted its target, it started to pull the boy off the ground, luckily due to the moisture from the rain, the soil that buried the boy was extremely soft and the drone had no trouble pulling the boy out without any major complications.

Once the boy's body was retrieved, it started scanning for any medical injuries that the boy may have acquired, but surprisingly the boy was in perfect shape as if he had not just fallen from a cliff and buried by soil for around an hour.

The drone quickly sent out reports to the headquarters and started heading its way back while carrying the boy.

***

Inside the medical headquarters of the city of 'Peony'.

Two military officers and two doctors stood inside a lightly lit and spacious room, they surrounded a medical bed where the boy that the drone had rescued was now laying in.

The boy was now wearing a comfortable hospital gown.

"What do you mean this boy doesn't exist?!"

An officer exclaimed staring back and forth from the boy and the other officer with a confused expression.

"There is no record of this boy's existence, none and I mean it's like he popped out of nowhere, his only matching DNA is from a deceased person that has died a decade ago."

"Do we have any information of the deceased person?"

"...No..."

"What's his race?"

"... Human?..."

There were too many mysteries about the boy.

Though the boy was of a different race, his race was like an exact copy of humans, the only difference is that his race was more attuned to the element of void and time. Two very powerful elements that can shake worlds, in addition to that, his race had especially strong and unique souls.

At the same time the device that the officers had used could only be considered low to medium tier identification devices, so the most they could assess were the physical body, its structure and appearance. The device could not detect that the boy had a nearly undetectable flow of black-colored mana flowing through his veins.

The other officer then tapped on his wrist and a transparent screen suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

On the screen was a phrase that read, 'No records of this person has been found.'

Such a circumstance had not been seen in over decades, once someone was born, that person's data is immediately recorded and added to the data center controlled by the government.

Throughout someone's life, major events such as where they graduated, their job and the achievements they have garnered is gathered and stored as data for the government.

The two officers looked at the boy with bothered expressions as they contemplated on how to handle this situation.
