Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

"Ala Ala... I didn't expect you to know me."

Clementine slowly emerged from the darkness, each step she took accompanied by the sound of metal bars clashing.

He had been waiting for Nfirea Bareare's arrival but had yet to see him. And because of that man's plan, the old woman couldn't do anything. It was frustrating.

But unexpectedly, he had run into a Mithril-level adventurer here.

Though he couldn't fight freely, at least he could hold his ground for a while.

"I'm so bored... But... it's great that someone is here."

Clementine turned her gaze toward Leticiel, her smile widening with increasing madness.

"This guy is really beautiful."

Leticiel's hands had been moving anxiously for some time. Standing beside Genji, she could feel the strong, oppressive aura of death.

"Leticiel, don't do anything for now," Genji quietly warned her.

"As you command, Master Genji," Leticiel replied.

But what was this guy supposed to do? He was a knife enthusiast and a psychopath.

Without hesitation, Clementine addressed the unfamiliar man standing in front of her.

"...May I ask your name? I've never seen anyone like you before. You're the only one who knows my name. Isn't that unfair?"

Clementine gave a wry smile, but the sound of her grin was unsettling.

"Although I didn't want to tell you, it doesn't mean anything to you anyway," Genji replied coldly, meeting her gaze.

Clementine became even more intrigued. But after all, he was just a small Mithril-level adventurer.

She had entered the realm of heroes. According to the information from Fenghua and the others, there were only five people in the kingdom capable of properly fighting her:

Gazef Stronoff, Brain Unglaus, Gagaran from the Blue Rose, Luxenberg Abelion from the Scarlet Dewdrops, and the retired Vesture Kloff Di Laufen (Gazef's master).

Even if they used all their strength, they might not be able to defeat her—magic props from the country aside.

But she still didn't take others' words seriously.

"My name is 'Genji,' and the one next to me is Leticiel. Remember this for the rest of your life."

"Oh? I've never heard of you... But since you're also a 'Mithril-level' adventurer, you must be strong," Clementine said, her eyes fixed on the nameplate on his chest.

Inadvertently, Clementine lifted her windbreaker, revealing metal plates with the names of countless adventurers: copper, iron, silver, gold, platinum, mithril, and even orichalcum.

Each plate was a grim testament to the adventurers she had killed.

"It looks like we need to add a 'Mithril Grade' sign," Clementine's voice grew more frenzied, her tone dismissive. She didn't take the two men before her seriously.

"Forget it. I'll have a simple fight with her first, then find a reason to leave. But I can't crush them too much. After all, this guy is meant to boost the popularity of Momonga and the others. I'll just hold back a bit."

"Leticiel, just stand aside and watch."

"As you command, Master Genji," Leticiel responded, her tone obedient.

Clementine was taken aback. Did this guy just underestimate her? He was just a small 'Mithril-level' adventurer.

She couldn't help but laugh.

"You should all come at me together, since you're all going to... die."

"No, you're wrong. I'm enough on my own."

"If you're too confident, you might lose your life," Clementine warned.

After thinking briefly, Genji unsheathed a long sword from his waist. He steadied himself, focusing on the overly excited psychopath in front of him.

Genji couldn't help but feel bewildered.

Clementine, notorious for her cruel ways, drew her weapons: four piercing daggers, called short spikes, and a meteor hammer. Only one of the daggers was in hand for now.

Genji took a glance and prepared for the fight. For someone as weak as Clementine, he wouldn't use any significant strength. Otherwise, it would be like tearing through paper.

Fortunately, he had removed most of his equipment.

Clementine moved swiftly, and with her expert martial arts skills, she launched a rapid strike at Genji.

Despite lacking equipment, Genji's reflexes were still sharp. He was able to react smoothly—there was no issue.

"Bang!"

The sound of metal clashing echoed throughout the alley.

Clementine was momentarily taken aback, adjusting her posture as if preparing for a leap.

"No Fall Fortress?"

Was that martial arts?

Genji noticed a faint glow surrounding her, confirming she was indeed using martial arts. The immense strength behind her strike collided with his long sword, a weapon many times stronger than ordinary ones.

Surviving with standard weapons against her strength would be difficult.

However, for Genji, any weapon he wielded could be considered divine, or even stronger.

Clementine, blocked once again, stared at Genji's sword in confusion.

At the very least, she could confirm it wasn't an ordinary weapon. And this man was far from being just another "Mithril-level" adventurer.
