Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

The angel, who had been standing still, finally moved its wings at Nigun's command. Clad in full armor, it held a massive mace in one hand and a shield in the other, its feet hidden beneath a long skirt. The Angel of Surveillance was stronger than an Archangel, but it hadn't attacked until now because its main role was defense. As long as it stayed still, it could shield its allies with its powerful protective aura, but moving would weaken that effect. Even so, Nigun had no choice but to try.

The angel flew in front of Momonga, swinging its mace in quick strikes. Momonga raised his left hand, protected by a metal glove, blocking the blows effortlessly. Suddenly, he muttered, "Hellfire." A tiny black flame appeared on the angel's body. It looked harmless, almost funny to those watching. But in an instant, the flame spread, consuming the entire angel silently and completely. When it was over, it was as if nothing had happened.

"What?! Only one move?" Nigun and the others were in shock, their disbelief growing into fear. The Angel of Surveillance was the strongest of its kind, with unmatched defense. Nigun's special power further boosted his summoned creatures, making his angels even harder to defeat. No one had ever beaten this angel with a single strike—not even the strongest members of the Black Festival.

Nigun, panicked and desperate, yelled, "Who are you?! Ainz Ooal Gown? No one should be able to destroy a high-level angel like that!"

Momonga calmly spread his hands. "Why do you think it's impossible? Is it because you don't understand? Or is this just how the world is?"

The priests around Nigun started to panic. "Captain… what should we do now?" someone asked, fear thick in his voice.

"Just protect me!" Nigun ordered, gripping a crystal. He was going to summon the highest-level angel he could. This angel had once destroyed a demon that nearly overtook the continent two centuries ago. It took unimaginable resources to summon this angel, but Nigun was certain it would work.

Momonga looked at the crystal, thoughtful. "A magic crystal? Judging by its glow, that angel must be Seraph-level… maybe even Highest Seraph." He considered this carefully.

Meanwhile, Nigun shattered the crystal, and a blinding light filled the air. He was ecstatic, as though he had summoned a legend. "Behold, the highest-ranking angel! The Archangel of Majesty!" The crowd cheered in relief, certain this would be enough to defeat Momonga.

Momonga, unimpressed, commented with a sigh, "That's it? This is your strongest weapon?"

Genji, watching from nearby, couldn't help but snicker. "A ceremony this flashy, and that's the best it can do? They must've spent a fortune on these effects."

"Are you scared yet?" Nigun shouted at Momonga, still full of hope. "This angel is worth using against you, even if it's overkill."

But Momonga just shook his head, looking bored. "It's… disappointing."

Nigun couldn't believe it. "What?! Are you mocking the highest-ranking angel?" He was sure Momonga was bluffing, so he ordered, "Launch 'Extreme Holy Strike'!"

This was a seventh-level magic attack, a power almost impossible to cast without elaborate rituals. Yet, as the beam struck, Momonga barely flinched, feeling only a slight sting. "Ha! Is that it?" he mocked as the light faded, leaving him untouched.

Furious and confused, Nigun ordered another strike. But this time, Momonga didn't let him finish. "My turn… feel the despair: 'Black Hole.'" A tiny dark dot appeared on the Archangel's body, expanding into a black void that swallowed it entirely, wiping it out in an instant.

Nigun, now frantic, shouted, "Who… who are you? You can't be Ainz Ooal Gown. No one is this powerful!"

At that moment, Genji came over, saying, "You should be grateful. Someone tried to use magic to watch you, but I took care of it."

Nigun was taken aback, realizing that even his own Theocracy had been spying on him. But it didn't matter anymore.

Momonga looked at him calmly. "This game… is over."
