The next day, Team Resurrect Me's sponsors gathered inside the dance studio.
Sophie greeted Yuzuka, Miles and Grandma as she sat down in her seat. Noticing the dark circles under Sophie's eyes, Yuzuka initiated a conversation.
"What happened to you, Sophie?" she asked, worried.
With a sigh, Sophie slumped into her seat.
"I'm beat! Trying to launch Rayen's commercial and the product at the same time as the first episode took everything out of me. I couldn't even sleep!"
Yuzuka patted the weary Sophie on the back.
"It's okay, it's okay. All your hard work has paid off!"
Sophie sighed for the second time after receiving comfort from the overly kind Yuzuka, but noticing something, she couldn't help but ask, "Is Harjun not here yet?"
Yuzuka shook her head in response.
"That guy!"
"Maybe, he'll come around soon. You know him."
As the two of them spoke to each other, a sponsor of another Seed grabbed their attention by standing in front of them.
A large shadow loomed over Yuzuka and Sophie, darkening their surroundings. They both lifted their heads to see who was the one blocking the light and saw Ms. Lewis.
Ms. Lewis was one of Liam's sponsors. She was a slightly larger woman who also ran a company business as a side job, just like Sophie.
Yes, their business were only side jobs.
As Entities, their true job was to guide people's souls from straying off their fates.
Yuzuka and Ms. Lewis were both Scribes, and they were under Plotter's department. Ms. Lewis currently lived in England, while Yuzuka, born in Japan in this lifetime, was assigned to Japan's jurisdiction. She also had some fame there as a voice actor and streamer.
On the other hand, Sophie was under the Director, and her true role was as a Binder. A Binder's duty is to connect a life page that Scribes record from fate's trajectory onto a person's Life Book.
The three of them had been friends since their previous lives, after a certain incident occured which altered the trajectory of two people's fate.
There was also another person involved in that accident. It was Sophie's friend who loved buffalo wings. That person wasn't here because the Seed she was supporting was from another group.
That incident was hell. Thankfully, it ended well.
However, the current situation was quite contradictory. They were supposed to be guiding people from straying off their fates, but now, by sponsoring a Seed, they were somewhat defying it.
With shining eyes, Ms. Lewis talked about Cracktusss and its commercial.
"How did you come up with that idea? I should've suggested that for our Seed too."
From Yuzuka's left side, Miles's ears pricked up after hearing Ms. Lewis's words.
"Hey, that's my idea!"
Yuzuka quickly consoled the young man in order to stop him from blabbering nonsense.
"Okay, okay, that's yours. No one's stealing it. You did great."
Looking smugly from Yuzuka's praise, Miles settled on his seat.
At the same time, Harjun also arrived. This person was miraculously on time, so Sophie did not say a word of complaint.
After Harjun, another well-known celebrity followed him. With his blonde mohawk standing up nicely, he casually walked to his reserved seat. He was Yeo Haru's lead sponsor — Drake.
Behind him was an entourage of young boys, all from the same age group. They were also Yeo Haru's sponsors.
These young Entities stationed in South Korea formed a 9-member idol group with their own agency. Their group's name was Immortals. Currently, they held the title of being the kings of their generation of idol groups.
Since Yeo Haru's audition hadn't aired yet, the existence of this idol group as one of Flower Garden's sponsors was still unknown to the public. If it had, it wouldn't be Rayen making a ruckus on the Internet right now, but Yeo Haru.
Moments later, a middle-aged man with long, jet black hair walked in from the door wearing sunglasses. This man gazed around the whole room and his lips lifted up into a wide smile after spotting Sophie among the crowd.
"Sophie, my girl. You were so excellent at creating a masterpiece comedy!"
The man strode toward Sophie with wide-open arms.
"Get away from me, Madrigal!" Sophie panicked seeing the man's overly friendly gesture and pointed at Miles beside Yuzuka. "It wasn't me! It was Miles's idea."
Upon hearing his name and noticing Madrigal about to change his target to embrace, Miles immediately stood up from his seat and hid behind Grandma.
"Don't touch me, weird man!" Miles hissed like a cat at Madrigal.
Madrigal pouted his lips and removed his sunglasses, revealing his stormy blue eyes which were brimming with tears.
"You're so mean."
"Go away!"
Yuzuka patted the crying man on his back.
Calming down, Madrigal wiped away his tears and smiled at Yuzuka. "Yuzuka-chan is still so kind."
Only smiling back, Yuzuka finished comforting him.
"I didn't know you're also from this team," Sophie said with a wry smile.
If she knew, she probably wouldn't have attended today's interim evaluation so she wouldn't meet this comedy-enthusiast director.
Madrigal finally gave up on hugging Miles and responded to Sophie. "My boy, Binh is on this team."
"Oh..."
'What luck...'
Madrigal went to his seat with a long face and waited for the sponsors also supporting Binh.
One by one, more sponsors from Team Resurrect Me entered the room. Sophie recognized another one and locked gazes with her.
"Ms. Sophie!" The beautiful and petite woman waved toward Sophie and company. "We're from the same team?"
"Yeah," Sophie also nodded cheerfully.
This woman was a model for Vallenci, Pia Welch.
"Who's your kid?" Pia asked.
"What have you been doing these days? My kid's trending all over the internet."
These two young women were talking about their kids as though they were elders of their own family. But in truth, none of them were in a relationship.
"Eh? What?" Pia blinked. "I was out of the radar for a while because of my mom. I haven't touched any electronics in a week!"
"Well, I released a new product line and made him the star of its commercial."
"Wow!" Letting out a thumbs up, Pia exclaimed, "As expected of CEO Sophie! What a good PR strategy! What product line? Is it a new men's wear or women's?"
"No, it's cactus chips," Sophie replied.
Pia only smiled with nothing to say.
Vallenci's new product line wasn't a luxury item or clothes?
Because Pia had been silent for a while, Sophie figured it was her turn to ask.
"What about you? Who're you supporting?"
Pia just scratched her chin. "Well, I found someone with good looks."
"Who?"
"His name's Minho."
Meanwhile, in a certain room, Minho sneezed while fixing his hair and looking at himself in the mirror.
After the last sponsor, whom Sophie didn't recognize, entered the room, Team Resurrect Me members also came in.
Plotter, who was sitting in the staff members' reserved spot beside the expressionless Director, wore his usual playful grin. He looked just like a regular kid, but Rayen knew this kid was really planning something in his head.
"Let's start the interim evaluation," the Director announced.
