And so, the song selection had ended.
Rayen still couldn't shake off his mind how it took a turn like this.
"Do you guys trust me?" Yeo Haru asked the whole group after winning the game.
'No.'
Rayen really wanted to say that, but his teammates, aside him and Liam, looked at Yeo Haru with eyes of fervor. Since he's the one with the highest rank out of everyone, he was automatically placed in the pedestal as the leader.
Also, because this person really does know how to look at talents—well, because Rayen thought he was recognized by this person as a good singer, he might be trustworthy at least.
But Rayen shouldn't have.
"We've decided." Yeo Haru turned to Yeon Miwol who had been waiting for a while. "Resurrect Me! Definitely, Resurrect Me! Our group will rise from the dead!"
Rayen wanted to curse out this camera hogger! That song was so damn high!
Yeon Miwol seemed to also want to beat up the guy after not listening to her last warning of not adding more work for the staff members. The Overseer should really ought to reactivate the show's live beep censoring just for this guy.
'Sigh...'
And now, they're stuck. How do they even sing this song?!
"Yeo Haru, ah, Yeo Haru," Rayen called for the source of the problem in exhaustion. "Now, try to reach that note!"
Right now, they're on their practice room one day after the filming.
This practice room they're in was also the dance studio at the second floor, but the only group here was them. Just like the waiting room before, they could use the room at the same time with the other groups without being in the same space.
"No, give me a break, Brother! You do it. This is why I chose you to be our vocalist!"
Once again, Rayen was stumped with his praise.
'Alright, I forgive you.'
"But why did you choose this song?"
Thinking about it, Rayen should've asked him this from the get-go. Maybe this wouldn't have happened. Most of their members aren't that good with singing. Only him and Yeo Haru could even reach the high notes of this song. He wasn't sure about Liam, though.
"Actually, Brother..." Yeo Haru tried to reason out with Rayen. "Not just because I think the song title was a reflection of us, but we can also arrange the song to our advantages."
"How?"
Holding the lyric sheet, he signed for Rayen to come closer. When Rayen leaned in, Yeo Haru immediately covered his mouth with the sheet.
"You and I can shine in this song," he whispered. "You take the hard vocal parts and show off yourself. The chorus was a headbanger, so we can arrange for a dance break there. I am good at dancing, you might not be aware of that."
'That...'
"What about the others?" Rayen couldn't help but ask.
"I don't know about them. But that's why we're here to determine our parts."
After saying that, Yeo Haru clapped to get the other member's attention. Most of them hadn't been paying about the two's conversation earlier because they were having trouble with the song and practicing alone.
All heads turned towards them.
"Now that we're teammates, I hope you wouldn't mind it..." Yeo Haru started.
Most of the members frowned from his words, not understanding the need for it. What wouldn't they mind?
"Can you tell me all your stats?"
"....."
Silently gulping, Rayen also didn't know what to say. He could boast about his singing stat because he knew that he had an exceptional grade, but if Yeo Haru saw his dance stat, would his praises turn into disdain?
He even praised him for his backflip before! What if this guy knew that it was just a fluke?
"But the system's under maintenance," one of the members said, trying to avoid the question.
Rayen approvingly stared at this person but frowned a second later. He seemed to have seen this person before, but he's also certain he hadn't met him before.
'Oh, nevermind.'
Dismissing his thoughts, Rayen focused on the situation right now.
"It's okay, you just have to tell us."
Yeo Haru looked at everyone, but none seemed to be too enthusiastic with his suggestion.
"How do we decide for our parts if you don't show me your stats?"
No one still spoke. Yeo Haru just gave up on convincing them this way. This was why he didn't want to pick low rankers. Instead of trying to show off their stats, they would try to hide everything!
"Why don't you tell us yours first before asking everyone?" Liam who had been silently observing everyone finally spoke.
Yeo Haru blinked. "Oh right, sorry. Then I—"
Ding!
Just then, all of their phones rang at the same time. Yeo Haru stopped speaking and looked at their phones quietly laying at the corner of the room. They placed it there as they might drop it when they try to dance.
Scrambling towards their phones, all the members grabbed theirs and looked intently at the notification on their lockscreens.
[Idol:Revive
Update is here! Check the updated system patch now.]
As they read the message, the speakers also screeched before somebody spoke.
It was Plotter.
"To help you guys on deciding your parts, I quickly finished the system update. Please check the new features~"
Yeo Haru had an elated emotion. Now, no one could say that they wouldn't need to show their stats. Plotter himself said they should use it to decide their parts.
Rayen looked at the joyful Yeo Haru and sighed inwardly, afraid that he might lose this guy's respect after this meeting. Bitterly clicking on the app icon, he was greeted by the dancing Plotter animation.
On its head, a white text bubble was hovering.
"Welcome, Participant Rayen! Propagator System 2.0 is now online! Nice to see you again!"
'No, it's not nice to see you.'
Rayen just wanted to close the app again.
Meanwhile, after finishing his greeting, Mini Plotter stood straight at the center of the screen with a radiant smile on his face.
"Hehe, did you miss me?"
