Chapter 16
Page 1-
Erick was smirking at The Sea King as they stared at each other. "Do you know where you are? You must be some kind of Rookie or something?" The Sea King asks with a face of confusion. "Don't start talking now just because you're scared." Erick says with a sly smirk. The Sea King's face begins to scrunch up with anger as he reeled back the club in his hands and sprinted towards Erick with blistering speed. "YOU DAMN ROOKIE!!" He yells. Erick chuckles slightly as he dashes at The Sea King with Alt one on both of his arms. The two of them clash, causing the rocks beneath them to crack and dust to blow in all directions. Trick looked over at Jonah as he was holding his chin and deep in his thoughts.

"Got something on your mind?" Trick asks him curiously. "Other than this being a terrible idea… I'm a little worried." Jonah says with a straight face. "I have a feeling Erick is stronger than this guy." Trick says with a smirk. "That's not what I'm worried about. Erick knocked out a Sea giant with his bare hands and before eating a berry… his strength isn't the problem." Jonah says with worry in his voice. "Then what's wrong?" Trick asks with a confused face. "Erick just received his berry, we don't know if his body has fully adapted to it yet or if the berry has any drawbacks. It's just a little risky to be fighting so soon. " Jonah says as he takes his finger off of his chin and looks up at The clash between Erick and The Sea King. Trick's eyes widen as he thought about this fact and looked up at their clash.

Erick was smiling while they clashed but the Sea King was struggling to keep up with his strength. 'What's with his strength, it's so overwhelming!' The Sea King thought to himself with surprise. Erick wins the clash, pushing the Sea King back a few feet. "SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT KID!!" The Sea King yells as he reels back his club but this time a water like substance began to swirl around the edge of the club. "You're out if you're depth rookie." He says with a smirk as he swings his club at the ground, causing the cyclone on the edge of the club to sink into the earth. Erick's eyes widen as a hand made of water burst from the ground behind him and grabs him tightly. "ERICK!!" Jonah yells as Trick's eyes were widened with shock.

The Sea King stood up completely as the liquid hand held Erick above the ground. "Hey! What the hell is this?" Erick asks as he was struggling and trying to escape the hands grasp. "Don't even bother, that hand is made from the liquid we Sea Giants secrete from our skin and with the water berry I can control any liquid I touch." The Sea King says with a smirk. The Sea Giants behind him began cheering loudly as their King displayed his strength. "Did he say the water berry?" Trick says with a confused face. "I knew this was a stupid idea." Jonah says with an annoyed face. "That fist holding you is like if I were to bear hug you, that's how strong it is. Get it… because I'm super strong! KEKEKEKEKEKE" the Sea King exclaims with a boisterous smile.

"LET ME OUT OF HERE SO I CAN KICK YOUR ASS!!!" Erick yells as he was still trying to escape the hands grasp. "KEKEKEKEKEKEKE!!!" The Sea King laughs boisterously as he held his stomach. "I SAID… LET ME OUTTTT!!!" Erick yells as he burst out of the hand,causing it to dissolve on the ground. The Sea King's eyes widen with shock as the other Sea Giants began to whisper in disbelief. Erick had a face of anger and was breathing heavily as he pointed at The Sea King. "Were you laughing at me?" Erick asks him with a face of rage. The Sea King reels back his Club with a face of frustration. "Yeah… what about it?" He says as he begins to smirk. Erick's face changes from anger to a smirk.

Erick blitzes The Sea King who barely blocked the attack with his club. 'Did this kid get stronger or did I lose my strength?' The Sea King thinks to himself with worry. Erick reels back his other fist and punched the club again, continuing to lay punches onto the club, causing a small crack to open in it. Jonah looked intensely at Erick as he was punching and then at his arms. Jonah's eyes widen as he notices something. "Hey. Look at Erick's arms, don't you see that?" Jonah asks Trick as he squints his eyes. "Not really, what's going on?" Trick asks him with a curious tone. "The metal stuff on his arms… it's Decaying!" Jonah says with a shocked face.

"Oh yeah I see it now, do you think it's a side effect of his berry power?" Trick asks with a worried face. "I don't know yet but it doesn't seem to be good." Jonah says with a straight face. "Is that my cue?" Trick says with a smirk. "Well, technically you're the Vice Captain." Jonah says with a smirk. Trick unsheathes both of his swords with a wide grin on his face. "I guess you're right." He says. Erick was still punching at The Sea King but he hadn't cracked the club any further. 'Now it feels like he's gotten weaker… it's probably got something to do with that metal on his arms cracking, he must be tiring out.' The Sea King thinks to himself with a smile. 'Crap! Why are my punches losing steam, I don't feel tired at all!' Erick thinks to himself with a shocked face.

"Getting tired? KEKEKEKEKEKE!!!" The Sea Giant yells as he lifts his club, causing Erick's punch to hit him right in the gut but nothing happened. Erick looked at his arms and saw that Alt one had completely decayed from his arms, causing his eyes to widen slightly as he looked back up at The Sea King, who was smiling widely. He then reels back his club and then swings it at Erick. As soon as the club was about to make contact with Erick it clashed into something, causing The Sea Kings eyes to widen slightly. Trick stood between Erick and The Sea King as he blocked the attack. "Oh hey Trick!" Erick says with an ecstatic smile. "WHY THE HELL ARE YOU HERE!!! THIS IS A ONE ON ONE FIGHT!!!" The Sea King yells as he sees Trick. "Yeah he's right, why are you here? This is a one on one fight!" Erick exclaims. "You idiot I'm here to help you!" Trick yells back at him in frustration.

"Oh yeah, my berry is acting all weird for some reason, I can't believe you noticed." Erick says with a smile. "I didn't… Jonah figured it out." Trick says back to him. "YOU DAMN CHEATERS!!!" The Sea King yells as he lifts is club and a cyclone of water forms on the end of it. "NOL, KILL THIS FOOL!!" The Sea King yells causing Nol to dash into the fight with his axe and clash with Trick, pushing both of them away from Erick and The Sea King. "Is that how you act when your captain is faced with defeat or was this a special occasion?" Nol asks with a straight face. "That was my call not his, as vice captain… I need to keep my captain safe." Trick says with a straight face as well.

"For someone so small you have plenty of strength, I guess you're a berry user, right?" Nol asks him with a smirk. "Don't worry… you're about to find out." Trick says with a sly grin. The two of them then clutch their weapons as they smile at each other and then clash with their weapons. Trick jumps back slightly after the clash as he then puts

Trick says with a smirk, causing Nol's eyes to widen slightly as fire began to engulf Trick's left arm. The fire then begins to crawl onto his sword, engulfing it within his flames. Nol was shocked but quickly began to smile as he saw this. "It's been over five years since I've had a good fight." Nol says to Trick as he reels back his axe. Sparks fly as they clashed and both combatants had wide smiles on their faces.

"Glad to see Nol having some fun again." The Sea King says with a smile. "I wouldn't say all that… Trick is gonna finish him pretty quickly so i guess I better hurry up." Erick says as he looks up at The Sea King with a smile, who smirks at him widely. 'Thanks to Jonah and Trick I know that I can't push the enhance berry much further but if I can control it then I can use what little juice I have left.' Erick thinks to himself. The Sea King slams his club into the ground and as the cyclone hit the ground the water sunk into it once again. "That move is so lame-" Erick was cut off as he saw The Sea King sprinting toward him with his club in his hand. "Welcome to your graveyard boy!" He yells with a villainous smile on his face just as dozens of liquid hands burst from the ground, all seemingly focused on Erick. "Did you think I was some pushover? Like my son? I AM THE KING OF THE SEA!!" He yells boisterously and while boasting a wide grin.

Four of the hands dash at Erick as he was looking at The Sea King but right as they were about to hit him they bursted, causing the sea king to stop moving and make a face of confusion. Jonah steps out from behind Erick with his Aetherstone knuckles on his fists. "I'll take care of the hands, you just beat that ugly thing." Jonah says as he looks at Erick. "HEY WHO YOU CALLIN UGLY YOU SPIKEY HAIRED FREAK!!" The Sea King yells at Jonah offended by his statement. "Thanks Jonah, I'll make it up to you." Erick says with a smile. "Yeah, I know you will." Jonah says with a smirk as he then punches one of the water hands trying to hit him. They both nod at each other and then sprint toward their targets.

The Sea King was initially surprised by this but quickly composed himself as he reeled back his club with a smirk on his face. At the end of the club appeared a cyclone once again but this time it wrapped itself around the club, then quickly solidifies into an ice like stone substance. The Sea King's smile began to grow as Erick got closer and closer to him. "I wanna see if you can get me there kid!" He says boisterously as his smile was still growing. Erick activated Alt one onto his right fist as he sprinted toward The Sea King but his entire arm was covered now and his right arm began smoking slightly. "If I'm gonna burn out anyway, then I'll make it hurt." Erick says as his face grows with intensity. The Sea King chuckled slightly as he heard Erick say this. "One last attack huh? Fine then… LETS DO IT!!!" He yells with intensity as the water hands begin to fly back into the club, causing it to grow even larger in size. "IRON… FISTTTTT!!!!" Erick yells as his arm began to burn red hot and started smoking profusely.

Jonah lands about ten feet from Erick as he watched what was happening in front of him. Trick and Nol were clashing but they both stopped to look at the ensuing clash. As Erick and The Sea King both clash a massive shock wave was sent through the island causing everyone to shield their eyes from all of the dust. Even when everyone could see the middle of the clash again, there was only a large cloud of smoke, covering both of the fighters from everyone around. Jonah's face tightened with worry and as he began to yell out Erick's name he saw the cloud of dust begin to disappear. As everyone began to see the outcome of the clash they all had surprised faces except for Jonah and Trick, who were smiling profusely.

The Sea King had missed Erick and as his club was deep into the ground, Erick's right fist was plunged into his stomach, with Alt one completely gone and only leaving smoke coming from his arms. The Sea Kings eyes were rolled into the back of his head as he fell to his knees and then onto his back. All of the other Sea Giants began whispering profusely as their King laid on the ground. 'How did I miss? No, I didn't miss him… the sheer amount of power he produced completely knocked my attack away. I'll be damned, good round Rookie.' The Sea king says to himself as he lay there. Jonah and Trick ran up to Erick with smiles on their faces. "You just keep surprising me huh kid?" Trick says with a wide smile. "Now that's my captain!" Jonah says as he scruffs the top of Erick's head.

"Thanks to you guys I learned a little bit more about my berry." Erick says with a smile. "Oh yeah, like what?" Jonah asks with a curious face. Erick puts his arm up, showing that it was burnt in some places and was still smoking. "I can use a lot more of my enhance ability in one arm than two!" Erick says with an ecstatic smile, causing Trick and Jonah to reel back in disgust. "That looks terrible." They both say with low faces, causing Erick to chuckle slightly. "Hey look." Trick says with a straight face, causing Erick to turn around and see the the female Sea Giant walking toward them. "As per Sea Giant Custom what will be the punishment of Elbor? She says with a straight tone. "Who is Elbor?" Erick asks with a confused face. "Our former Sea King" she says as she looks at the man Erick was just fighting as he was now sitting on his but and looking at the ground.

"So just because I beat him he won't be Sea King anymore?" Erick asks as his face begins to grow with anger. "That has been the rules of our kingdom for as long as we have lived, once the current Sea King loses a battle another must take his place." She says to Erick. "Well that's a load of crap!" Erick exclaims to her, causing Jonah and Trick to smile and Elbor looked at him with wide eyes. "If I would've known that then I would've just let the guy win, I didn't do this to take anything away from anyone!" Erick yells at the woman. "If you will not decide a punishment then the elders will." The woman says calmly. Erick breathes out softly and then looks at her calmly. "Okay then… my punishment is… ten more years as The Sea King." Erick says with a smile, causing everyone's eyes to widen besides his crew. "Then I'll kick your butt even harder next time." Erick says with a chuckle as Elbor looked at him with eyes of pure shock. 'Who… is this Pathfinder?' Elbor thinks to himself with surprise.
