Deep in thought, Ezra continued towards the school gate when he heard his name.
"My dear Ezra! You're finally here."
Ezra turned around to look, and saw that it was his classmate, Arella. She was smiling brightly with her eyes narrowed.
-Fvck! She saw me!-
"Arella, I've told you multiple times not to call me dear! Just Ezra is fine!"
The smile on Arella's chubby face didn't fade in the least as she answered.
"Alright, Dear Ezra!"
Usually speaking, to have a female classmate who adores you when you'd just transcended to another world was something to be happy about, especially when Ezra was someone without much talent. But this lady here was over 180cm tall, and her weight was also over 180!¹
Not only that, this lady's body wasn't full of fat! You could see the defined shape of her muscles when she flexed them!
Ezra decided to act like how he would before his transcending, ignoring this Ironlady.
Iron Lady was the nickname their classmates gave Arella. Ezra felt that it was incredibly fitting.
"Why are you ignoring me, Dear Ezra? I feel so hurt."
Loud thumping sounds rang out the moment Arella acted coyly and stamped her feet, everyone around feeling the earth vibrating.
Ezra couldn't think straight after that as his eyes twitched violently. He felt the weird looks people around them were giving him, as if they were saying, 'You have a very unique taste!'
Although Ezra was ignoring her, Arella wouldn't be discouraged from just that. She had a powerful aura around her, pushing away anyone between them and walking up to him, asking worriedly, "Dear Ezra, I heard that you got beaten up by James after class yesterday. Don't worry; I'll make him pay when we reach school later. I'll definitely beat him up until he faints!"
Arella sounded rather confident. It seemed as if she had no qualms about finding trouble with James, who was known as a genius.
This girl indeed had the capacity to do so. She showed incredible talent at the young age of sixteen during the Talent testing that everyone was impressed. Her father was so happy that he bought her a silver-grade Monster. She was no weaker than James, no matter if it was physically or their linked beasts.
Hearing her words, Ezra's face twitched.
'Why do I feel like I'm the little girl who was wronged and is being protected by her tall and mighty boyfriend?'
Ezra shuddered all over, and goosebumps rose on his skin. He couldn't help but look sideways at Arella and replied, "Uhm Arella. Don't bother yourself, I will settle the score myself. Will you please not interfere?"
Arella immediately showed a wronged expression and stamped her feet again, causing the ground to tremble around her. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she held them back and said, "Dear Ezra, why have you become so distant?"
Ezra immediately turned and speed up his movements, blending in with the crowds as he vanished from Arella's sight.
Arella was caught by surprise. She let out a coy humph and stamped her feet, before hurriedly giving chase. However, the crowds of students at the gates were too much, making her lose Ezra in the crowded gate.
"Awwn, how sad! He didn't wait for me!" Arella complained coyly as she stamped her feet continuously. Dust clouds rose all around her, as if a huge beast was kicking up a fuss.
Ezra wiped off his sweat as he was squeezed in a crowd and entered the gate. He let out a heavy sigh, looking rather traumatized.
By the school gate were rows of parked school buses. Each bus was black and red in color with a sturdy metal ring secured around the chassis.
The metal ring even had sharp spikes surrounding it. The exterior of each bus was triple-plated with metal boards, each the thickness of a thumb.
The wheels of the bus were made with special materials that was obtained from monsters skin.
Wheels made from them were tougher and more resilient, even withstanding gunshots from small caliber rounds.
Ezra could not help but look at the buses a few more times. "I guess any beast below level three shouldn't pose a threat to these buses."
A few seconds later, Ezra finally closed in on his lecture hall.
Suddenly, a tall teenager appeared before Ezra with a playful smile. He sized him up from head to toe, exclaiming him.
"What a great sight. Ezra, it's great that you're fine! It seems like I've gained total control over my beast's body and you didn't die from my attacks. Otherwise, the past year's training would have been in vain!"
As he spoke, a two meters tall giant Panther slowly cat-walked out from behind him. Its malevolent eyes locked in on Ezra as an overwhelming filling of pressure erupted from its body, enveloping Ezra in the process.
This young man was none other than James, who had blocked Ezra yesterday after school and used his linked-beast to knock him out.
Speaking of which, the root of their enmity was really stupid; Ezra happened to only speak with their class beauty, Celeste for a few seconds. James, who had been pursuing her to no avail, noticed this, and had started finding trouble with him since then.
Ezra trembled slightly, thinking to himself, Seriously? Does this kid actually dare to link with his beast to beat me up again before the class hall?
He couldn't help but look at the Twin-tailed Panther behind James, when he suddenly froze on the spot.
