"Die." Akiya said and jumped at Dessy who forgot all about his injuries and held Emily (the little girl) and jumped off the bed. Akiya landed on the bed without destroying it. Dessy put the girl down as Akiya jumped towards him again. This time with a katana in his hand. One appeared in Dessy's hand and he used it to block Akiya's attack.
"HOW DARE YOU TOUCH MY SISTER."
"I ALREADY TOLD I DIDN'T, I SWEAR."
"LIAR." They stood like that for a while with Akiya pressing his katana forward and Dessy using his katana to push Akiya's katana back. Emily got angry and moved between them and pushed her brother back.
"That's enough big brother."
"B- but Emily-"
"Is that how you thank someone who risked his life to save your sister?"
"Not to mention it's your fault I got strangled up in that mess."
"Gaaargh."
"Humph." She groaned and walked over to Dessy and held his hand.
"E..mi..ly." Akiya chocked on the letters with shock written all over his face.
Emily pulled Dessy to the bed and made him lie down. Akiya was looking at them the whole time with anger boiling in his eyes but couldn't do anything. He didn't want to make his dearest Emily mad at him.
Emily walked over to the door after making Dessy lie down.
"Don't try anything funny while I'm gone." She said to her brother before she walked out.
"Tch." Akiya took a chair from beside the bed and sent it to the wall away from Dessy and sat on it with his arms crossed and an irritated expression on his face.
A nurse opened the door and peeked through.
"Is everything alright? I heard a commotion so I thought I'd check to see what was going on."
"Oh it's nothing serious." Dessy answered scratching the back of his head nervously. "Really, it's nothing."
"Ookay." The nurse said not sounding so convinced and left.
Emily came back a few seconds after. She walked over to Dessy and sat on a chair beside him.
"My mom made you this to thank you for saving me."
"Really? You shouldn't ha..." He stopped when a heavenly smell hit him.
Emily took out three bowls. One containing ramen, the other containing three maki rolls and the other containing tempura.
"It looks so good." Dessy thought as
Emily took out chopsticks.
"Here." Emily said and scooped some ramen. "I'll feed you." She said.
"Umm, you don't have to I can feed myself. My hands are perfectly..." He trailed off as it seemed like Emily was about to burst into tears.
"But if you insist." He said and ate it. Emily brightened up. "It is good."
Emily was happy to hear that. "Really? I helped out too."
"Seriously? You're so good at cooking huh? Then your future husband will be so lucky." He said as they both laughed.
"By the way, I didn't notice that Akiya was your brother. I mean, you both have red hair and..... You do look alike."
"Yeah. We took after our grandfather."
"Really? My parents said I took after my grandmother. Hehehe, what a coincidence." The little girl giggled.
Akiya who was watching the whole thing looked more irritated. And the fact that Dessy mentioned "your future husband" pissed him off even more. And yet he couldn't do anything about it. Akiya got more and more pissed watching as Emily fed Dessy and they kept chatting.
"I see you two are having a good time." Akiya finally managed to speak up through his annoyance.
"Yeah." Emily nodded at him with a big smile. Seeing her smile like that cooled Akiya down a bit and a small smile even graced on his lips.
"He's a really good person." She added. "Since eating delicious foods makes him happy and he said I can cook I'll marry him when I grow up so I can cook lots of delicious foods for him." Akiya almost exploded hearing her. He felt like squeezing the life out of Dessy
"Oh really?" Dessy felt awkward but was delighted to hear it from her. Although he knew it was never going to happen.
Besides, she was just a kid and didn't know what she was talking about. She'd fall for someone else before she'd even realise it. "Then I'll be waiting." Dessy said and the little girl's smile widened. Akiya on the other hand got more angry and started heading the wall.
"What are you doing big brother, are you crazy?" Akiya didn't say anything and did it until he was bleeding.
Emily packed up everything into the basket and went to her brother.
"Stop it you idiot." She said and grabbed his hand but he didn't resist. As a matter of fact, he wanted to get his sister out of there.
"I'll be going Dessy. I have to let them check on my brother before we leave. I hope we meet again soon."
"Yeah." Dessy said before they left.
For the rest of the morning Dessy just laid there until till his parents came to pick him up.
"You can come for the papers next week." The doctor told him before they left. The doctor adjusted his glasses watching as they drove away.
"Strange." He thought and furrowed his brows. "I definitely detected a rubidstone but.... I also detected something else. Something... Dark. I wonder what it could be." He said and went back inside.
Dessy started training immediately after he fully recovered. There wasn't much to begin with so for the first few days, he focused on training his body. He also remembered to go for his doctor's approval papers the following week and kept on training his body for a month. Emily made sure to give him Akiya's contact number so he called and asked if he could help him train using his power.
"Huh? But how'd you get my number?" Akiya asked over the phone.
"Umm, Emily gave it to me before you guys left me at the hospital."
"I see. Well, I could use some help so I guess it'd be cool if we trained together."
"Really? Thanks Akiya."
"Don't mention it. That's what friends are for. Although, we're more like rivals."
They chose an area in a forest to train. They started training there the following day. Emily sometimes went to watch them train during the weekend.
They were able to Master their powers within two weeks. They used another two weeks to learn new moves.
They had less than two months to prepare. They stopped training for two weeks to prepare for other stuff.
They then continued training for the rest of the weeks until....... Until it was time for school.
