One day in the middle of the day a grand event is about to unfold. It starts with one child pointing to the sky saying to their mother "Mommy, Mommy look! A meteor shower!"
Making the mother look up absolutely horrified at this happing in the middle of the day and how close they are to them. A person could make out a much more detailed shape then what they should have. Then it happened one landed in the middle of the street crushing a parked car. Making a man drop to his knees shaking in fury as he clenches his fist. "MY DEPOSIT!"
This crash was followed by several others throughout the day causing mass panic. People praying thinking it was Armageddon and others looting immediately only to be shot down a few seconds later by store owners.
But this isn't where our story begins, it begins an hour later with a boy walking from a corner store next to his apartments. The boys was around fifteen, had black hair, brown skin, a soul patch, and was wearing casual clothes. Nothing more than shoes, black cargo pants and a purple shirt. "Man, of course the damn store is closed. Walking my ass over here for nothing." This is will, your typical introverted teenager with nothing to do. Feeling slightly annoyed will feels an overwhelming urge to look up. His eyes widen as he takes in the sight. "What the hell?! Why are they so close?! Why in the daytime?! Since when did this happen in Texas!?" Will says holding his head with both of his arms. Several people driving and walking on the street stopped and had similar reactions. Then several police cars pull into the area and an officer steps out with a megaphone. "There is an ongoing meteor shower that is much to close! Please seek shelter and get out of the open immediately! Those walking will be driven to spots less likely to be hit!" The officer puts the megaphone away and starts escorting people.
Will sighs in relief, at least now there was some kind of answe for what to do. "Wait my family lives in the second floor!" Will thinks to himself panicked pulling out his phone. Then his phone screen immediately displays a public announcement before he could call anyone. As the police start getting closer he feels the urge again and his eyes land on a purple meteor and his eyes follow it until it crashes out of sight. Will looks around seeing the police are still focused on the people in front of him as he shakes. "Why do I feel the urge to go to that meteor? This is stupid I might get crushed or arrested or something!" A few seconds pass and will sighs.
"Fuck it we ball" Will looks around one more time and starts slowly walking away from the crowd. Then going into a full sprint down the street. "This is stupid, this is stupid, this is so damn dumb." Will thinks as he sees a shadow on the ground then looks back seeing a meteor heading straight at him. Will junps to the side barley getting out of the way in time, but shredding some of his pants in the process. "Dad's gonna kill me." Will says groaning knowing his dad just bought his pants yesterday. He then gets back up and starts running again.
A few minutes later he hears sirens and looks around and hides behind a dumpster. Several government vehicles pass by making Will feel like following this urge was an even more stupid idea. "Oh fuck me, there's all kinds of government people around here... really hope they didn't notice me." Will sighs surprise he hasn't started feeling any regret. On most accounts Will wasn't lazy, he did work out with calisthenics and studied once in a while. But he was nowhere near as active as he is now. "How do I even know which direction to go? Why does this feel right
*Sigh* this better be worth it" Will comes from behind the dumpster and feels the urge again much more stronger than last time. " He runs in the direction for a few minutes and stops once her reaches a park. Seeing a smoldering crater and the purple meteor. He looks at it amazed, despite all the possible trouble he was in for doing this. It was still extremely fascinating to see something like this up close. "Whoah that's cool." He circles the meteor that's surprisingly small only five feet in diameter. The meteor emits a low hum almost like a calling as Will reached out and touches it. Covering his eyes as a bright purple light shines out. Unknown to Will the light shines into him pulling the meteor in all it's mass into his body, making his veins glow purple before fading. Leaving a large rock and a small box that's six inches tall and wide. As Will stands there shocked after the light dies down and the two items in it's place, he picked them up. "The hell landed in the park?" Before he could think about it more a crowd approaches the now empty crater. They were people who had taken pictures of it and was bringing family from their spots to investigate. Now all that was there where those items. The crowd starts mumbling in confusion.
"Where did it go? It can't pick out legs and walk away." A man with his dog says holding a can of beer. "Ayo anybody seeing this shit? This bitch was just right here!" Another teenager says to his group of friends. "These are confusing times...but what is not confusing is the Lord's will! Come joint in prayer for-" will stopped listening to the crowds conversations deciding he needed to grab the items and run. And that's exactly what he did. "Aye! He's running with that stuff! Come back and tell us what you know!" A random mother says as the crowd shifts their attention to the retreating form of Will down the street. Seconds later some got in their cars and we're about to pursue for answers to this odd situation. When government vehicles burst into the scene filling out the park with scientists and police
"I need everyone to report what they say in the area! Please remain calm and-"
"Yo fuck twelve! This is just some conspiracy!" Says a man hidden in the crowd. Everyone around him starts getting rialed up agreeing with him.
"Yeah what y'all hiding from us?!"
"Y'all workin with that boy ain't ya!"
"The hell is my food stamps!?"
"I swear if I wasn't pregnant I would beat a bitch for pulling this shit!"
"Wait where did the boy go!?"
"That punk!"
The crowd goes silent now realizing they've lost sight of the one who seemingly knew anything about the meteor and essentially wasted time. The police however remain calm (surprisingly) even though one was about to reach for his gun then was stopped by a older officer shaking his head and mouthing "Be better than that." The cpolice then start interrogating the crowd and scientists start to investigate. The sky now clear as normal, the meteor shower seemingly stopped a while ago.
