Kael's eyes widened in shock at Martyn's weapon.
You didn't need to be an expert to feel the immense amount of mana it contained, but that wasn't all.
*Cold, it's so cold!*
These were Kael's thoughts as he was enveloped by a freezing sensation, surely from the runes embedded in the weapon.
But now wasn't the time to worry about that—he was surrounded by enemies.
"You're so greedy. Even with a weapon like that, you want more," Kael said with a smile.
"I guess I'm just like you," Martyn replied.
After a brief exchange, both charged towards their enemies.
"Kkkiuuuu!"
The black knights didn't hesitate and immediately went on the offensive.
There were many of them, but they were no match for a weapon like the one Martyn held. He swung his mace multiple times, knocking down every enemy in his path.

"Damn… it's still so heavy, it's hard to…" Martyn panted, catching his breath.
Although his *Hammer of Fenrir* was incredibly powerful, it had a major drawback: its weight. He could barely hold it for long.

But his complaints disappeared entirely with the system message.
Martyn's lips curved into a grin as he continued smashing his enemies. It was just a matter of time before he completed his trial.
On the other side, Kael used his claws to decapitate his enemies with ease.
The black knights noticed the overwhelming difference in power and started to regroup, trying to form a better formation.
Martyn noticed this right away and came up with a brilliant idea.
"If I had fought an enemy like the Kaldvargr, I couldn't do this," the boy thought as he made a huge leap.
"Hey, help me!" Martyn called out for Kael's cooperation, and Kael immediately understood the plan.
"Awesome, this will finish them off instantly!" the albino said excitedly as he slipped behind Martyn to kick him.
Thanks to this, Martyn was propelled downwards at great speed as he prepared his attack.
"Floor N6…" Martyn exclaimed, and his mace began to glow blue. A moment later, the swing of his attack came down.
*Bam!*
"Completed," Martyn said, watching the results of his powerful strike.
The black knights tried to defend themselves.
But they were unsuccessful.
As soon as the mace hit the ground, a massive blast of ice shot out, covering the entire room.
[Congratulations]
[You've defeated several enemies at once]

Martyn was both surprised and satisfied. The power of the runes was incredible—he hadn't had much time to use them in his previous fight.
[Congratulations, you've defeated all enemies on this floor]
[Floors remaining]
[2/7]
"Well, we've finished this floor," Martyn said, pointing to the door.
"This was easy too, next time let's make it something tougher."
Kael's confidence knew no bounds, but he wasn't wrong; they had defeated many knights without trouble.
As if remembering something important, Kael's face turned serious as he glanced at Martyn's mace.
"I didn't know you had something like that in your inventory. It must be a high-level item. My inventory bag couldn't hold something like that."
Martyn couldn't help but feel a bit of satisfaction from Kael's words. Unlike other hunters, Martyn had an infinite inventory.
"I guess I'm lucky. We should rest; what do you think? Also, there's something I want to do."
Martyn suggested this while looking at the Specter Essence in his hands. Maybe he could make a rune with it.
[Specter Essence X2]
"Alright, alright, but there's a problem…" Kael placed his right hand on his stomach, rubbing it a few times before speaking:
"I'm hungry."
"Now that you mention it, you're right... we didn't bring any food," Martyn admitted, realizing his mistake.
"It doesn't seem like there's much food around here, but it wouldn't hurt to look. I'll be right back."
Trying to improve the situation, Kael transformed his legs and ran off to look for food.
Wow, that ability is really useful," Martyn muttered as he watched the boy go off in search of food.
"Well, since we're alone, I think it's time to finish this mission."
With everything in his favor, Martyn sat on the ground and quickly activated his ability:
[Activating Class]
[Class: Beginner Nordic Blacksmith activated] - [Volundr]
"Alright, unlike placing runes on a weapon, when it comes to creating one, I can do it anywhere."
With this in mind, Martyn grabbed a nearby stone and began infusing it with mana.
He then opened his inventory and searched for what he needed
[Specter Essence X2]
"Alright, first, this rune won't be elemental, but it could have a unique ability."
Thanks to his *Volundr* ability, Martyn had the knowledge to know what he was doing.
He began thinking until the focus of his mind reached the answer.
"A simple +1 defense boost should be easy to make."
He exclaimed with a smile. If he focused on a more complicated rune, it might not work.
Starting the process, Martyn began drawing with the Specter Essence on the stone.
The essence felt similar to paint—quite viscous with a smooth texture.
The smell wasn't the best; it smelled like dead rats mixed with rotten cheese.
But Martyn didn't mind. He was an impure; if he came with prejudices, he'd just be a show-off here.
"Alright, all drawn. Time to act." Ready for the big moment, Martyn began charging mana into his fingers.
[The pattern of the rune is etched in your mind]
[Touch the selected object]
Slowly and precisely, Martyn brought his fingers to the drawing, which began to glow with a bright blue light.
Each line he'd drawn shone as the mana flowed through it.
After a few seconds, the drawing stopped glowing, leaving Martyn with a disappointed expression.
"Damn, really? I thought this time…"
But before the boy could finish his sentence, the drawing emitted an even brighter glow than before, and the mana could be felt flowing through it.
[Congratulations]
[You've created a defensive rune]

[You are requested in Valhalla to receive your reward]
"YES!" Martyn clenched his fist euphorically. He had done it—he'd created a rune and completed his mission.
"It looks like I have to go to Valhalla today. I'm already looking forward to sleep."
"Hey, I brought food!"
Luck continued to smile on Martyn, who heard his companion's shout. Apparently, Kael had found something to eat.
"What, really? What did you get?" Martyn turned to happily see his companion.
But his happy expression turned into one of disgust as he saw the food Kael had brought. After getting closer, Kael spoke:
"As you can see, I brought six rats I found—three for me and three for you. We'll make a fire with the rocks and cook them."
Kael said this proudly, while Martyn just stared at the food with distaste.
