Chereads / Wish: Into the world of Percy Jackson / Chapter 12 - The scary Thalia

Chapter 12 - The scary Thalia

[Lysandros Evermore, Camp Half-Blood]

And so, the game started. Thalia flipped the coin and, together with our referee Grover, they looked at what laid underneath. Thalia then looked back at me with a confident smile and said - "It's tails!"

And I had a feeling it was the truth. So I said - "True!" - and by the way she clicked her tongue, it seems I was right!

Next was my turn. I picked the coin from her hand, tossed it into the air, then grabbed and put it down on top of my left hand. Took a look, letting Grover check the result, it was tails once more.

I smirked and said - "It's tails!" - looking at her with a gaze that said 'I already won!'.

She, never even bothering to think about it, said - "True!".

Guess this won't be as easy as I had hoped it to be. With a sigh I give her the coin. We go back and forth a couple of times, and I started to suspect something was wrong. I am a really good actor, if I may say so myself, but she seemed to be reading me like an open book.

Or maybe she isn't reading me. The very next time, when she hands me the coin, I take my time to check for any inconsistencies, even using some detection magic in the process, and soon found what I had been looking for.

I smirk and say - "What a surprise! This coin has such an unique magnetic field! You sure did get creative there Thalia..." - I teased her, not mad in the slightest, as we had some kind of hidden agreement that using our skills and abilities was permited.

"Tsk! You found out!" - She seemed a bit disgrunted, but said nothing more.

Casting a quick spell to eliminate all magnetic fields around the coin, I flip it through the air, then take it into my hands and, with Grover, take a look.

"It's heads!" - I said.

"Cap!" - She answered.

I show her the coin. - "Nope, it was really heads!" - The match had ended with my victory. Abbiding to our bet, Thalia swore by the Styx to allow me to ask anything.

"I'm quite curious, what would you have asked if you had managed to win?" - I asked her, not really expecting an answer. To my surprise she did say what she would have asked.

Smirking, she said - "Nothing much, I would just like to have been the one wearing the pants in our relationship, so you would have had to follow along on whatever I proposed!" - Sending a chilling shiver down my spine. Luckily I have won as, while I am not the dominant party in our relationship, I wasn't submissive either, we had been equal so far, so this request, in my books, would have been just a tad bit better than mine.

Sighing, she finally asked - "So, what is it that you want?" - And after taking a deep breath, I responded.

"I want you to let me make a harem!" - I said, feeling the air around me grow colder by the second.

"First, had you won, you would also make a ridiculous request, you can't even try to deny it as you already admited. Second, have tou taken a look at how stupidly high my stamina is, even for a demigod? I can last twice as long as you when we train together and spar, and my stamina increases shows no signs of stopping, it's even increasing by the day! There is also the fact that I want to have a really big family, so that would also be of great help to it!" - I started explaining my case, so that she would not react too harshly. Just the fact she is yet to throw some lightning at me, was already a testament of my explanation working, I guess.

"I can get the first reason, as you are just being petty, and even the third reason, but what the hell is wrong with the second one?" - She snarled back at me.

"Oh.. if I have too much stamina you might not make it when we do get intimate in the future..." - I said in a small voice, just enough for her to hear. And hear she did, as I watched her ears turn into a bright shade of red, as she imagined the scene.

*cough!* *cough!*

She faked a fit of coughing to regain her composure, before finally saying - "Fine! You can have a harem, but only of those I approve! So..." - Before she even finished speaking, I interrupted.

"Deal!" - Seeing my eagerness seemed to have irked her even more in the wrong way, as she dealt me a heavy blow to the top of my head, almost making me drop onto the ground, as I rubbed the place where I had been hit using both my hands. Shit! I should have been more patient!

Giving me a really gentle and sweet smile, she managed to utter the most terrifying words I would have ever heard in all of my two lifes - "Now that you are a harem man, just so you know, if you ever neglect me... I. Am. Taking. That. Cute. Little. Thing. In. Between. Your. Legs. And. Feeding. It. To. The. Pigs!" - She said all of this while slowly approaching me, and even grabbing me by the collar of my camp shirt - "Did I make myself clear?"

With a face as blue as a smurf, and my back drenched in cold sweat, I started nodding like a chick eating grains on the ground, as if afraid she would suddenly change her mind and beat the shit out of me.

Seemingly satisfied with my answer, she let go of me, and started walking off to somewhere, but then stopped mid-way through, as if remembering something.

"And don't overdo it, least I have a change of heart... byee!" - Yup she is 100% a demon...

Remember me never to cross her ever again, oh my divine memory... I don't think I can make it out alive from such an encounter.

Looking around, I notice Grover had long run off somewhere. I can't really blame him though, as Thalia was making some really scary faces. As I was about to go to some empty fields nearby the forest, someone called out to me.

I take a look and notice it was a young boy around my age, with dark skin and cropped black hair, standing at the same height as me, which was honestly quite impressive, as I am quite tall for my age. He was wearing the orange camp half-blood shirt, like most people around.

If I'm not wrong, I have seen him in the Hephaestus table during meal time, so it should be safe to guess he was a child from the god of blacksmiths. He was signaling me to wait, as he walked in my direction.

"Hey! Are you Lysandros Evermore?" - He asked.

"Yeah! What about you?" - I said, nodding with my head.

"Nice to meet you! My name is Charles, Charles Beckendorf! The activities director asked me to call you back, as there will soon be an announcement of sorts."

Oh! So this is a young version of Charles Beckendorf! Cool! Maybe I should try to meet some other kids from the original series! I guess this is also part of the charm of this world... to meet some loved characters from the books! His future was also quite bleak... Let's change that! His death had left a bad taste in my mouth!

But first - "An announcement? Any idea on what this is all about?" - I asked a little curious.

"I'm not too sure, but people were speculating about a new camp director being chosen, others stated it should just be Chiron being promoted. It could also be something about those Tents you were building. There is no consensus." - He answered while shaking his head, as we were walking, on our way back towards the patio of the main building, where everyone was gathering to hear the said announcement.

"By the way, do you know why the seat of director has been empty for so long?" - I asked, trying to have a conversation with Charles.

"Not really, I only know that it has been empty for almost one and a half centuries." - He said.

"You mean around the time of the civil war? Is there any relationship between them? That is also quite some time..." - I said, thinking that the last director must have died during the last war between the roman and greek camps.

"Maybe? I mean, the second world war was also caused by a conflict between demigods. So I guess they should be somewhat related..." - Beckendorf shrugged.

Author's Notes:

How are you all doing? I hope you are all doing fine!

First I would like to thank you all for the support, we just reached 600 collections, and are just a bit short from 100k views! There are also the more than 100 powerstones, I really can't thank you guys enough for that!

I also ask of you to have some patience with me, as I am still stumbling my way around on how to write things out. (Have some mercy on this poor little author, will you?)

I hope you all have had fun with the chapters so far. I also hope you guys could pardon me for the way I used to introduce the harem concept to the story, as I just could not think of a good way to make a satisfatory introduction of it in a world with a modern concept such as this one. So I just decided to get over it soon enough, so I could start some more fun parts if the story.

I think that's it for now!

Peace out!
