Chapter 87 - This Defies All Logic!

The three of them returned to Cloud City, and Nathan, along with his group, arrived in a grand procession.

At present, only about a hundred or so of the original residents of Cloud City remained. The rest had either starved to death, frozen, or, in some cases, tragically succumbed to zombie infection—either through accident or treachery.

Nathan, leading over a hundred people, joined the city and naturally became part of the corpse-cleaning team.

As always, there was no such thing as a free meal!

This was also a test for Nathan from Miles.

The zombie apocalypse would eventually pass, and as the number of zombies dwindled, it meant that food supplies would also grow scarcer.

Would Nathan, desperate for food, turn those remaining family members into zombies?

If that happened, Miles would no longer accept him—at least, not as a member of his group.

"My lord, you're back," Lisa greeted as soon as they entered.

She hurriedly ran to Miles' side, kneeling to help him remove his shoes before taking the protective gear he had just removed to clean it.

Miles reached out and caught her hand before she could leave, laughing. "From now on, just call me by my name. 'My lord' sounds too strange."

Lisa shook her head, timidly responding, "But you said before, a servant without a sense of hierarchy is like a grasshopper after the autumn harvest—one day, you'll throw them away..."

"I..."

Miles' face darkened.

"Are you hungry, my lord? I'll cook right away."

Lisa pulled free from his grasp and rushed to the kitchen, leaving Miles standing there, flustered.

What a mess!

It was all Nathan's fault, that damn troublemaker!

However, what he didn't see was that, as Lisa glanced back, a mischievous smile crept onto her face.

She knew her man's temperament too well. Throwing tantrums or crying would never work on him—he was a person who responded better to softness than harshness!

The more careful and considerate she acted, the more Miles would feel sorry for her, and the more guilt he'd feel.

Sure enough.

After a few moments, Miles muttered angrily, "Damn it, I'm going to kill that woman!"

He put his protective suit back on, grabbed a handgun from his space, and stormed out.

"Miles, where are you going?"

Ryan saw him carrying a gun and looking ready to kill, and hurriedly ran out of the storage room.

In the few months they had spent together, Ryan had rarely seen Miles angry. He was always calm and unflappable. What was going on today?

"It's none of your business, go back and rest," Miles waved his hand dismissively, heading straight for Villa C.

"Is it 021 or 022?"

A few minutes later, he was standing in front of a row of villas, all looking the same, thoroughly disoriented.

"Miles, sir? What brings you here in person?"

Just then, Nathan, freshly arrived with his group, walked out of one of the villas. Seeing Miles standing in the snow, he quickly approached, thinking he had come to check on them.

"What's going on...?"

Noticing the handgun in Miles' hand, Nathan was startled. "Is there a new wave of zombies?"

Surely, with Miles' capabilities, he wouldn't need a gun otherwise?

Miles shot him a venomous glare. "It's all because of the trouble you caused!"

"Me?"

Nathan looked around, bewildered. "What did I do?"

Miles didn't feel like wasting time with him. Irritated, he asked, "Where's Nicole?"

"Nicole?"

Nathan pointed to the first villa on the right. "She's right there. How could you forget your own home?"

"I swear..."

Miles almost shot him on the spot.

Grinding his teeth, he kicked the weak door of the villa open with a forceful shove.

Inside, Nicole, who had been sleeping, was instantly jolted awake.

She scrambled out of bed, clutching an iron rod for protection, and cautiously approached the window.

"Nicole, come out!"

Miles stormed into the yard.

His eyesight was sharp, even sharper now with his psychic abilities, and he immediately noticed the movement inside.

Looking for me?

Nicole stared at the young man outside with a mix of fear and confusion.

He was angry, holding a gun, and had a menacing aura.

Nicole jumped, but she knew she couldn't hide. With a deep breath, she opened the window, pretending to summon some courage.

"Who are you? Why are you barging into my house?"

Clutching the iron rod, Nicole fixed her gaze on Miles, warning him.

Who am I?

Don't you know who I am?

Miles chuckled bitterly, raising his gun at her and coldly retorting, "I'll be your worst nightmare!"

"You..."

Nicole was furious, then snapped, "Don't blame me for not warning you. My boyfriend is Miles. If you speak out of turn again, you'll die painfully!"

Everyone in Cloud City knew who Miles was.

Nicole had used this trick to intimidate several people over the past few days.

Just this morning, when she was outside gathering snow, Anthony and others had passed by, immediately nodding and greeting her before quickly running off.

Now, a lot of people knew that Nicole was Miles' girlfriend.

Miles grinned, his anger subsiding into mockery. "Your boyfriend is Miles?"

"Yes!"

Nicole shouted proudly, "You don't even know Miles? Are you even from this community?"

At that moment, Miles' face broke into a smile.

He decided to have some fun with this little celebrity.

Grinning, he replied, "So what if I am? What if I'm not?"

"My boyfriend is the leader of this community. Everyone listens to him. If you have any sense, you'll leave now, or he'll come back and kill you!"

Nicole grew more anxious as she noticed that the man in front of her didn't seem scared at all.

This is illogical!

She had heard about Miles' capabilities—he had killed people like Andrew, Tyler, and Sarah. How could he not be from Cloud City?

"Your boyfriend is the leader here?"

Miles chuckled as he looked at the somewhat cute yet fierce young woman before him.

"Of course!"

"Well, how fortunate—I'm the leader too. Why don't you call your boyfriend over, and I'll spar with him?"

"I..."

Nicole was at a loss for words.

She wanted to call Miles, but she didn't even know him personally.

"What's the matter? Is your boyfriend too scared to show his face?"

Miles smirked, saying, "Doesn't even dare to show up? How can he be the leader then?"

"He's not scared! He..."

Nicole huffed, "He just went out, but he'll be back soon!"

"Alright, I'll wait for him!"

Miles crossed his arms and sat on the steps, looking perfectly relaxed.

"You..."

Nicole didn't expect this man to be so difficult.

"Let me make this clear," Miles said, his voice dripping with amusement, "If your boyfriend doesn't show up today, I'm coming in. And when I do..."

He flashed a sinister grin, staring at Nicole's beautiful face. "I heard Miss Nicole has acted in many TV shows. I wonder, have you ever starred in any adult films, the uncensored kind?"

Nicole had never been so insulted.

She stomped her foot, fuming, "You bastard!"

Miles chuckled darkly. "You haven't seen anything yet, Miss Nicole. Just wait and see."
