Chapter 2 - Charging Ten Million!

To gather the six million as quickly as possible and to secure the villa, Ella exchanged a few words and set out to raise funds. Miles watched her leave with a cold, satisfied smile.

"Just wait! Those who wronged me back then won't escape!"

Miles, raised in an orphanage, worked his way up from nothing to his current success. Though he's not a billionaire, he's an accomplished elite. In his past life, the Ice Age arrived too suddenly, leaving him unprepared and ending in tragedy.

Now, Miles is determined to be ready.

He calculates his assets: liquid funds amount to over three million, enough for daily expenses in ordinary times. However, after the apocalypse, global resources will deplete rapidly and become non-renewable. By then, money will be worthless—three hundred million, even three billion, would be useless.

Money, to him, is just a number.

Now, his priority is to convert his cash into supplies—anything he can amass before the Ice Age dawns, a new era emerging. Even if recovery comes, it will likely take decades. No one can predict what will unfold post-freeze.

After deliberating, Miles drives to the city center, to Weidu Trade, a high-end mall featuring global luxury brands.

As he enters, a staff member with a scanner approaches. "Sir, may I see your membership card?"

At Weidu Trade, money alone isn't enough; a membership card is needed, recharged with a set amount. Thanks to Ella's love for shopping, Miles has the card. After scanning, the staff says, "Apologies, sir, your balance is under one thousand. We recommend recharging to enhance your shopping experience."

Without hesitation, Miles hands his card over.

"How much would you like to recharge, sir?"

"Ten..." Just as he starts, his phone beeps, showing a transfer notice: six million from Ella's father, who mortgaged their home to assist him.

Miles chuckles. Women!

Turning to the staff, he says, "Ten million."

The staff, stunned, confirms, "Ten million?"

Nearby shoppers stare, astonished—charging ten million into a supermarket card isn't common, even among the wealthiest elites.

The manager arrives, verifying the amount. Miles confirms, "Yes, ten million."

Ecstatic, the manager quickly processes the payment, fearing Miles might change his mind. Soon, a notification on Miles's phone shows the charge.

Unfazed, Miles proceeds into the store, shadowed by curious onlookers eager to see if he's serious.

He summons a staff member. "Your diamond members receive home delivery service, correct?"

"Yes, sir. As our esteemed customer, all your purchases will be delivered by our professional team."

Nodding, Miles heads to the food section. "I want everything on these shelves, packed and delivered."

Realizing the logistical challenge, he muses. His villa can't accommodate such a vast inventory, especially with perishable goods. If only he had an enormous cold storage.

A thought interrupts him, accompanied by a vision of vast white space—a boundless storage area in his mind. A voice echoes: "Store."

Testing this newfound ability, he finds an item missing from the nearby shelf. His mind can store objects?

Keeping calm, he dismisses the staff, who mutters about his eccentric shopping. Miles, however, is immersed in the marvel of his discovery.
