The night passed peacefully, and David made sure to call Ahmed to announce their departure.
He didn't want to waste any more time here; there were far better things to do than linger, chasing a culprit he already knew had been found.
"Uncle, are you really leaving it like this?" Jessica asked, concern evident in her voice as she and her sister surrounded David.
"I don't plan to leave it unresolved," David replied firmly, "but that would only make us fall into their scheme."
Such a scheme would succeed the moment he launched an investigation. If the intention was to frame someone, fake evidence would begin to surface almost immediately.
Those fabricated clues would lead him to convict the wrong person, and if that happened, he would become nothing more than a tool in the hands of the true mastermind.
