Chapter 2 - Birth in the Mist

"Awaken, child of the dragon."

A voice, like the rustling of ancient leaves, penetrated Li Wei's consciousness, tearing him from the embrace of a nightmare. He opened his eyes and saw above him a face hidden in swirling green mist. Only the eyes, shining with gold, pierced the veil like two suns.

"Who are you?" Li Wei whispered, his voice hoarse from long silence.

"I am the guardian of this forest," the figure replied, her voice melodious as a babbling brook. "And I have come to awaken you."

Li Wei tried to sit up, but his body wouldn't obey. He felt weak, as if after a long illness. Looking around, he realized that he was lying on soft grass, surrounded by ancient trees whose branches intertwined, forming a green dome above him. The air was filled with the scent of flowers and damp earth.

"Where am I?" he asked.

"You are in the forest of Avalon," the guardian replied. "In a place where worlds meet."

Li Wei frowned. Avalon… This name was familiar to him from ancient legends that his grandmother used to tell him. Legends of a magical island hidden in the mist, where powerful fairies and wizards lived.

"But how did I get here?" he asked.

"Fate brought you here, child of the dragon," the guardian replied. "You are the chosen one. You have a long way to go and a great mission to fulfill."

"What mission?" Li Wei asked, feeling anxiety rising in his chest.

"You will learn about it later," the guardian replied. "Now you need to regain your strength. Rest, child of the dragon. Avalon will take care of you."

The mist around her thickened, and the guardian's figure dissolved into it like a ghost. Li Wei was left alone, surrounded by the silence of the ancient forest. He closed his eyes, trying to make sense of what was happening. He remembered the battle with the gods, the fall into the void… But how did he end up in Avalon? And what mission was he to fulfill?

Questions swarmed in his head, but there were no answers. Only the rustling of leaves and the singing of birds broke the silence. Li Wei felt fatigue overcome him, and he plunged into a sleep filled with strange dreams and vague premonitions.
