Kael's POV:
"She's dead," I said, looking up at Astrid.
She looked pale, almost terrified even as she stared at the child. Walking over to them, I stared at him, he looked peaceful, as though nothing had happened. In his eyes was wisdom, like he knew and understood.
I was a little surprised, to be honest, but not as much as Astrid. She looked like she needed a minute to process what had happened, and I couldn't blame her, really. The encounter with a Namarie left most shaken and even dead. I mean, I should be dead right now, but thanks to this child, I wasn't.
"He's more powerful than I thought," I said, trying to cut the tension in the air.
"I knew he was connected to the prophecy, but this? This is.. a little terrifying if I'm being honest," she said, her voice a little shaky.
