Sitting alone in our personal chambers, staring out the window at the beautiful, breathtaking view of the moonlit gardens below, I couldn't help but let my mind wander about the events of the past few weeks.
I was an alpha, the first female alpha of one of the most powerful and oldest wolf packs. I was also Tristan's Luna, his mate and partner in every sense of the word but lately, things had been feeling a little… I don't know, off.
Something wasn't right between Tristan and I. He'd been very distant and a little cold recently. I mean, I understand that he was preoccupied with the weight that comes with his responsibilities as alpha and the Lycan king, and also with the Thorne situation and getting our son back, but I couldn't help feeling something was off.
He was different, unlike the Tristan I know, my Tristan.
