George Stacey, besieged by a throng of reporters, immediately received an urgent report about the Manhattan Bridge.
His face changed dramatically as he pushed his way through the crowd, climbed into a nearby helicopter, and urged the pilot, "Quick! Get us to the Manhattan Bridge now—the lizard monster is there, and he's fighting Batman!"
"Batman?" one of the officers echoed incredulously. "How did he get involved?"
Despite their confusion, the officers quickly refocused, leaving a few to guard the Oscorp Building. The rest piled into police cars, slammed on the gas, and sped off toward the bridge.
Among them, Eddie and Phil exchanged looks.
Meanwhile, the Oscorp representative arrived at the chaotic scene. Sweating and visibly shaken, he tried to communicate with the remaining officers, only to be immediately surrounded by reporters and bombarded with questions.
"Sir, what do you think of the Lizard-man?"
"Is he a mutant created by an Oscorp research accident?"
"Where's Mr. Norman Osborn? Will he come to the scene tonight?"
The flood of questions quickly overwhelmed the representative. Seeing this, Eddie rolled his eyes, knowing that any answers would be standard PR excuses. He glanced at Phil and grinned.
"Phil, interested in sneaking into Oscorp with me?" he asked slyly.
Phil looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"
Moments later, Venom stretched out a tentacle to secure Phil, and the two climbed the walls of the Oscorp Building, slipping into the shadows and evading security.
Their goal was to capture footage of the fight between the Lizard and Spider-Man, aiming to score inside information for the Daily Bugle.
Eddie sighed to himself, wondering if Anton could find anyone else as committed to the paper.
Back on the Manhattan Bridge, Anton stood over the Lizard, whose arm and leg he had just broken. Although his expression was steely, he couldn't help but feel a pang of regret.
It wasn't that he wanted to be so brutal, but he had no choice. The Lizard possessed immense vitality and a rapid healing ability.
A broken limb was merely a setback, not a true injury, as he could regenerate his limbs quickly.
If Anton wanted to neutralize the Lizard permanently, he needed an antidote, just like in the original story.
This serum, however, could only be created by Dr. Curt Connors and Spider-Man, who had assisted Connors in perfecting the genetic modification experiment.
After a brief pause, Anton hoisted the Lizard up and leapt from the bridge, much to the crowd's shock. The Batmobile, now in flight mode, rose from beneath the bridge, heading toward Oscorp in the heart of Manhattan.
Spectators gasped in astonishment.
Inside the Batmobile, Anton felt the night air rushing around him as his cape billowed in the wind. He didn't bother with the theatrics, instead focusing on his memory of the original events.
The antidote wasn't complicated to make; he simply needed to assemble the components in a specific order. The sequence acted as a genetic "code," one known only to Connors and Peter Parker.
As Anton pondered this, the Batmobile soared past a police helicopter on its way from Oscorp. Both sides seemed momentarily frozen in mutual shock.
Inside the helicopter, George Stacey's eyes widened as he saw the Lizard, restrained and injured, aboard the Batmobile.
"Batman! Hand him over to us!" George shouted, his voice barely audible over the roaring winds and the helicopter's propellers.
"Sorry, can't do that right now," Anton responded, shrugging nonchalantly before urging the Batmobile forward.
He had no intention of being uncooperative, but he knew the police had no means of restraining the Lizard adequately. With the creature's regeneration abilities, it would only be a matter of time before he escaped custody.
To end the Lizard's rampage, Anton needed to reverse his transformation back to Connors. Only then would he be safe to hand over to the authorities. Otherwise, giving the Lizard to the police would only lead to further chaos.
As the Batmobile flew away, George gritted his teeth in frustration. Though he didn't fully understand Batman's plans, he sensed that the ordeal with the Lizard wasn't over yet.
"Turn around!" George ordered, pressing the communicator and instructing the helicopter pilot. "Inform all units heading to the bridge—Batman's taking the Lizard to Oscorp! We need to regroup there immediately!"
The officers in transit groaned, but they quickly spun their cars around and raced back toward Oscorp.
On the streets below, pedestrians craned their necks as the Batmobile zoomed across the skyline. Cheers erupted, with some yelling out in excitement. "Batman! Go, Batman! We love you!"
A mix of fans, mostly men but also some squealing girls, gawked at the sight of the high-tech vehicle slicing through the night.
The Batmobile, paired with Batman's mystique, had an undeniable allure. For a moment, onlookers were transported back to Batman's clash with the creature on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
Anton's popularity surged, with his "fan value" climbing at a speed ten times faster than usual.
Meanwhile, inside the Oscorp Building, Peter Parker was busy preparing the antidote, knowing that Connors would likely make another move soon.
Their previous fight had revealed Connors' grand ambition: he aimed to transform humanity into creatures like himself. Peter suspected New York would be Connors' first target before the infection spread like an unstoppable virus across the world.
Peter was unaware that his idol, Batman, had already subdued Connors. Focused on his work, he carefully measured and mixed components, steeling himself for the inevitable confrontation.
Suddenly, his spider-sense flared, and he turned sharply to see a tall, dark figure breaking through the window, a man with a camera standing close behind.
The figure was Venom, with Phil Urich trailing in his wake.
The three stared at each other, tension thickening the air. Finally, Phil broke the silence, raising his hand in a friendly wave.
"Uh, Spider-Man, you and Venom know each other, right? We're all friends here. Mind posing for a photo?"
