I mean don't get me wrong there was no man in the world who wouldn't love being in a party filled with three beautiful women but that's also where the issue lied. Sometimes I wished to have someone of the same gender to speak to but also because it felt awkward since all three of the women were potential marriage partners.

Ella was already my fiancé after we had exchanged rings the day before we left on our journey. Nessa had already offered to become my wife many times and even the elf queen agreed with her proposal, It was hard not to have feelings for such a beautiful and delicate girl and perhaps it was only a matter of time before I accepted.

The Duchess on the other hand was more of a political tool, She and first joined the party because the king wanted someone of nobility to be in the Hero's party. The king himself had even offered The duchess as my wife many years ago which was a offer any man would have accepted in a instant, She wasn't called the unconquerable duchess because of her fighting skills but because she was in her forties and still not married.

"What are you thinking about so seriously" Ella asked beside me waking me up from my own thoughts.

"Nothing just how I met all of you" I said with a small smile which prompted Ella to raise an eyebrow.

"Reminiscing after a battle?" She asked and I couldn't help but look over at her as our eyes held each others gazes.

'Beautiful' Her soft silky hair blowing into her face occasionally and her swaying chest was enough to make my heart flutter.

"I remember when I meeting you as well!" Nessa interrupted our moment as she leaned over latching onto my arm.

"Yes I was lucky to meet you" I said stiffly trying to ignore the soft bosom pressing against me before I felt someone grab me.

'Seriously' Ella was holding my sleeve with her fingers while staring forward although it was obvious she wasn't happy about Nessa holding me.

"Young love" I thought I could hear the Duchess speak but perhaps I was just hallucinating.

The walk was long yet peaceful and it took around a hour before we would finally see the gates of the city of Rans. It was a medium sized city with large wooden walls that surround it from every angle, Surrounded by mountains filled with beasts on most sides Ran's was very popular amongst adventurers and mercenary's.

"Ticket" The guards bored voice at the gate sounded out but before I could respond he looked up and froze.

"H~hero!" His eyes went wide before he looked to my sides and flinched even harder.

"D~duchess and the white knight!" I could only wait for him to calm down as his gaze went past Nessa with a look of disgust.

'Even if slavery is abolished people still need time to change' that's what I could only hope as I got the guards attention.

"Here" I held out a token but he quickly waved his hands and moved to the side.

"T~there's no need hero please go" The man said with smile but I ignored it and walked past him with Ella and the duchess following me while Nessa clung to my arm.

"You want to head back to the inn first or report the situation to the guild?" I asked as we walked down the crowded street.

The people around us went wide eyed as soon as they glanced in our direction and quickly got out of the way. It was something I still disliked although I had grown used to over the years, Being treated like a Hero was very uncomfortable for someone like me from a common background.

"I'll report to the guild since I have some business to attend to" The Duchess said turning toward us with a small smile.

"Please get some rest Hero you've been working to hard lately" She said simply before disappearing into the crowed going toward the center of the city.

"Let's go I do want to rest" I said waking forward as Ella and nessa held onto me from both sides.

"Welcome back h~hero!" I was greeted to a shaky voice as we walked inside the Inn we were staying at.

"Thank you" I looked forward and my gaze landed on an older man who had his hands clasped together.

He was much shorter then me to the point when I first met him I considered if he had the blood of the lost dwarf race in his veins. His hair was already growing grey and he had wrinkles covering his face, The only peculiar thing about him was the nervous expression her wore as he stood in front of us.
