Chapter 55 - Submitted dominance

Days passed, even a week or two, and then, in a sudden evening, O5 Council was called, as from other universe, the O5 of other universe has arrived, asking for immediate help. As same as they did for before SCP-9743 did Reset the timeline with the use of the four pointed star after upgrading it by SCP-914.

After a big while to arrive, both Councils were in front each other. The explanation seemed catastrophic, a real deal to all humanity in their universe.

Cataclysm Across Universes – A Plea for Salvation

The tension within Site-01 was palpable as the O5 Council assembled, summoned by an unprecedented alert. The space around them seemed to hum with a strange, alien energy, as a shimmering, unstable portal tore through reality, its edges fracturing like shattered glass. From within stepped the alternate O5 Council—twelve figures cloaked in desperation, their uniforms marked with burns, tears, and stains of battles fought and lost. Their faces bore the heavy burden of a reality crumbling under their feet.

They wasted no time with pleasantries.

Alternate O5-1: "Our universe is falling—no, it is burning! The very fabric of our reality has been torn asunder! The Veil has not only fallen; it has disintegrated entirely!"

Their words struck like thunder, leaving the original O5 Council in stunned silence. The alternate O5-2 stepped forward, holding a twisted and charred remnant of a containment breach alert system, the screen cracked and emitting faint flickers of distorted light.

Alternate O5-2: "SCPs have overrun everything. Site by site, they breached containment until there was nothing left to hold them. Hundreds of them roam unchecked—SCP-096, SCP-682, SCP-106, even the dormant SCP-076 was somehow reactivated and now leads a coalition of anomalies in a rampage across continents! But it's worse… so much worse than just containment breaches."

The alternate O5-4, their voice trembling with rage and despair, slammed their hand on the table.

Alternate O5-4: "SCP-035… The damned mask. We thought we could use it—upgrade it to better understand and manipulate anomalies. We wanted a tool, but what we created was a monster. It possesses without need of a host now, bending minds en masse, its influence spreading like a virus. It has entire nations under its control—leaders, armies, civilians… it owns them all!"

Their hands shook as they gestured wildly.

Alternate O5-6: "And then there's SCP-682. It no longer regenerates—it evolves. Every attempt to kill it only makes it stronger. It has grown beyond its hate for humanity; now it despises existence itself. It consumes, it corrupts, and its mere presence destabilizes the laws of physics. Entire cities are left in ruin as it passes through, its toxic aura killing everything in its wake. We couldn't even contain its aura, let alone the creature itself!"

Alternate O5-8: "And SCP-001…"

They paused, as if the mere mention of the designation drained the air from the room.

Alternate O5-8: "We don't even know which SCP-001 it is anymore. It has transcended whatever it once was and now acts as the architect of our destruction. We believe it orchestrated the breaches, possibly manipulating SCP-035 and SCP-682 to act as its generals. It's no longer bound by containment or even the concept of reality. Its influence bleeds into time, rewriting events as it sees fit. It is… unstoppable."

The original O5 Council sat motionless, the enormity of the catastrophe rendering them speechless. Their counterparts from the other universe stood before them, hollowed by their losses, and yet, their desperation carried a spark of hope—or was it madness?

Alternate O5-3: "We came here because your universe still has a chance. Your Veil is intact, your anomalies are contained, your order still stands. Ours is gone—our planet is a graveyard, and humanity is a dying whisper. But if we can stop this disaster from consuming your universe, perhaps we can save something from the ashes of ours."

Alternate O5-5: "You may not believe us, but this threat will come for you. It will spread across realities, devouring all that exists. It is not a matter of if—it is a matter of when. Your time is running out."

The original O5 Council exchanged uneasy glances. The alternate Council's words painted a picture of utter annihilation, a chaos so profound it defied imagination.

O5-1 (Original): "So, what do you expect from us? If your universe has fallen so completely, what hope do we have of surviving? How can we prepare for an enemy that has already consumed everything you had to fight with?"

Alternate O5-7: "You have something we didn't. Time. Your SCPs are contained. Your Veil is secure. You have the chance to prepare, to fortify your defenses before the first cracks appear. You must adapt now, before it's too late!"

The original O5-2 leaned forward, their voice sharp.

O5-2 (Original): "And what of the anomalies in our custody? Do you propose we weaponize them? Release them? Sacrifice the stability we've maintained for the sake of fighting this nebulous threat?"

Alternate O5-4: "You won't have a choice! When this entity arrives, your containment procedures will be as useful as paper walls against a hurricane. You must use everything at your disposal—every SCP, every resource, every ounce of knowledge. This thing doesn't play by the rules of your reality. It will twist your anomalies into its weapons, just as it did with ours."

The room fell into heavy silence, the weight of the alternate O5 Council's warnings pressing down like a physical force. The original O5 Council knew the stakes were higher than they had ever faced, and the time for calculated containment was over.

O5-1 (Original): "We will deliberate on your warnings. If this threat is as imminent as you claim, then we must act swiftly. But know this—our universe will not fall as easily as yours. Whatever comes, we will stand against it. And for you, I will give you the only help I think we can give you."

O5-1 (original) does then a call, and almost instantly, A'malther's portal opens, and A'malther appears from it, while the portal closes behind him, and then, A'malther does a reverence, bowing towards O5-1 (original).

A'malther: "Greetings. What is the need for you to my assistance?"

O5-1 (Original): "A'malther, other universe requires your aid."

A'malther: "I do see... I do understand... Let me wear appropriately for the situation. I will be back in a short moment."

A'malther then opened a portal and left, but after around 10 minutes, A'malther came back, but now, he was wearing the SCP uniform.

A'malther: "Now, as the situation is required, I will do for this situation be under you as needed."

Quickly after, A'malther followed the O5 Council of the other universe to their universe, through the same SCP the original Council used to bring SCP-105 from other universe.

Inform of Interaction with A'malther – O5 Council's Evaluation Summary of the Event:

The sudden arrival of the alternate O5 Council from a collapsing parallel universe sent shockwaves through Site-01. Their harrowing account of their universe's destruction painted a vivid picture of chaos—anomalies uncontained, SCP-035 leading armies, SCP-682 evolving into a reality-destroying entity, and an SCP-001 orchestrating it all as a godlike architect of annihilation. In desperation, they sought assistance from the original universe's O5 Council, claiming this universe still had time to prevent such a calamity.

After deliberation, O5-1 (Original) summoned A'malther, acknowledging his unmatched capabilities and influence. A'malther appeared promptly through his portal, displaying his usual reverence and composure, despite the grim context. Once briefed, A'malther demonstrated his understanding of the gravity of the situation and departed briefly, returning dressed in his SCP uniform—a symbolic gesture of his willingness to serve under the O5 Council's command for this emergency.

In a display of authority and assurance, A'malther followed the alternate O5 Council back to their universe, prepared to confront the destruction and chaos firsthand.

Research Team Observations:

A'malther's Adaptability:

His decision to don the SCP uniform demonstrates his ability to adopt a role of servitude and collaboration when the situation calls for it, despite his self-proclaimed divinity. This adaptability reinforces the belief that A'malther values strategy and optics as much as raw power.

Confidence in Handling the Situation:

A'malther's calm demeanor and readiness to act suggest an unshakable confidence. However, this also raises questions about his perception of risk—does he fully grasp the scale of the threat, or does he simply believe himself invincible?

Symbolic Alignment:

The act of bowing to O5-1 and his willingness to "be under you as needed" reflect a level of respect and acknowledgment of the O5 Council's authority. However, this gesture might also serve to secure their trust, potentially as a means to assert greater influence later.

Timely Response and Planning:

A'malther's brief preparation period (10 minutes) indicates that he may have been formulating a plan or equipping himself for the alternate universe's unique challenges. His swift return suggests he either possesses vast resources in his voidful domain or prioritizes decisive action.

Comments from the Original O5 Council:

O5-1: "A'malther's response was precisely what we needed—a decisive force willing to act without hesitation. However, his confidence in wearing the SCP uniform suggests a duality: submission to our structure, yet a subtle reminder of his growing identity within the Foundation. We must remain vigilant."

O5-2: "The symbolic gesture of wearing the uniform cannot be overlooked. While it aligns him with our cause, it also grants him a sense of legitimacy in the eyes of our personnel. This could complicate matters if his influence grows unchecked."

O5-3: "His willingness to assist is commendable, but let us not forget that A'malther operates on his own terms. Even when he 'serves,' he does so with a long-term strategy in mind. We must ensure he does not become the very threat we seek to prevent."

O5-4: "The alternate O5 Council's account highlights the catastrophic potential of SCP-035, SCP-682, and other anomalies. A'malther's involvement is a double-edged sword—his power could neutralize this threat, or exacerbate it should he deem their universe unworthy of salvation."

O5-5: "If A'malther succeeds, it may embolden him further. We must prepare contingencies for his return, particularly if he returns stronger or with entities from the alternate universe under his command."

O5-6: "His reverence to O5-1 was a calculated move. He seeks to solidify his position within our framework while continuing to operate autonomously. We must ensure this alliance remains beneficial and does not evolve into dependence."

Conclusion:

A'malther's involvement in the alternate universe's crisis marks a critical turning point. While his power is indispensable, the O5 Council recognizes the risks of empowering a being with divine aspirations. They will closely monitor his actions in the alternate universe and prepare for any unintended consequences upon his return.
