When Harlow arrived at Layla's apartment, she stepped out of the car and made her way inside. Layla, fresh out of the shower, was tying her hair into a loose bun when a knock came at the door. She hurried over, pulling it open to see her best friend standing there with an expression that screamed exhaustion.
"You're here so early," Layla said, glancing at the clock. Realizing it was already 6 p.m., her lips formed a small "O." "Or maybe I'm just late in noticing the time."
Harlow sighed as she stepped inside. "I really need a place to cool off for the evening. If I go back to the villa in this mood, I might actually kill someone."
Layla's brow furrowed with concern. "The meeting didn't go well?" she asked, leading Harlow further into the apartment.
