"Mother, please don't be so harsh on him. Lanis is only doing it to make me jealous. He didn't mean to harm you or anyone." Claudia said sweetly. Those dark eyes turned to look at her. The warmth they once held for her was long gone and now replaced by a cold distant gaze.
It almost felt as if the man in the room, wasn't the same person she had known all these years.
Neither she nor anyone in the room understood why Alanis just changed his heart against Claudia all of a sudden. It's not possible to just call out of love for someone unless you're being manipulated.
But how can Alanis be manipulated? There has to be an explanation for this.
"Alanis," Claudia called with tear-filled eyes as she walked close to him. She wanted to confirm something. She needed to understand something.
Did Alanis not love her anymore?
Was he now into Harlow?
"What is it you don't like about me anymore, is it my hair?" Claudia asked desperately.
