When this is over I'll slit her throat. "You. Where is the stitching?" I asked the woman, obviously a Mage, she lightly pressed down on my side, "there..." she replied "...and my name is Violet Edwards, not 'You'" she retorted, "Fine. Thank you, Violet." I responded, irritation creeping into my voice. "Can you use Fire Magic, Violet?" "Yes, why?" I grabbed her hand and said, "cauterise it." "I'm not going to-" I interrupted her, "either you do it or I do" She looked at me quizzically, she knew what it meant, if I did it, because of my resistance to my own Magic, it would mainly just be painful rather than useful. She took off her belt and shoved it in my mouth. I thought it would hurt more, much more, I barely even flinched, I had to check that Violet was still cauterising. Once she finished she turned to leave but then turned back "You need rest, don't move, please" It was only now I could get a good look at her, despite being a Mage she didn't have many signs of Mage Morph, she was a young Mage, really young, early twenties at the latest. Brunette hair, she was pretty too, then again that could be because of Magic. She seems to be trying to show off her beauty, with a tight belt around the waist.
The next day I was up and about, I had enough rest. Walking around I was able to discern that we were still in Midnas, now in one of the noblemans' houses, everyone had gathered in the main hall, a good chance to know who was here and if Tyler was able to get out and get help. Judging that Violet is here, I assume help is here or on the way using portal spells, they are multiple-use spells that can be cast three times a week but can only transport one person. Old portal-creating devices made in the Dominion were able to create and sustain a portal able to be used infinite times by any number of people. They certainly won't walk for over seven months, so they'd have to use portals to get here quickly enough to help. Before I went down to the hall, I donned my armour, strapping my sword to my hip and the daggers wherever I could fit them. Walking down the stairs I was able to see and hear everyone here, the only additions we had were Tyler, Ryan and Violet. Damn. I thought as I descended, Rina was near the middle, looking somewhat apprehensive, biting her nails. Callum looked over, seeing me he gestured to me to join the conversation, "What is it?" I asked, anger rising into my mannerisms, Rina stood in the corner, staring at the floor. She was wearing her gambeson. Callum turned to me in a hushed tone "The Duke has sent an ultimatum to us alongside Miss Edwards 'Save my daughter before my arrival or face summary execution following her rescue'. He's on his way here now, an army of Palace Guardsmen at his back, all mounted. They'll be here in a week at the latest, provided the portal puts them where they wish it to." Callum said to me, "so we have less than a week to find her, go through a potential army of cultists and save her before the Duke appearance? We're well and truly fucked." I observed, "I wouldn't say it in such an expletive way but yes, we are doomed" Callum responded, only now I could get a good look at him without heavy armour covering him, a dark-skinned young man, quite a few scars adorning what I could see of his skin. A grand contrast to the head of the Vice-Captain that was at the feet of Ryan, the Vice-Captain was old, incredibly so, ninety's at the latest and seemed to be a pure-blooded Snowlander, the Captain on the other hand, was a Scorchlander."You should be resting," said a familiar voice over my shoulder, I turned, "Violet" I nodded to her, "Yes, yes, hello- Now get to bed and rest-" "Brother, Finally..."
