I slowly opened my eyes. My vision was unclear, but I could tell I wasn't in white space anymore. This meant that I was back in the world I had been sent to. And I was reminded of my purpose here. Find Nyx.
As my vision slowly cleared up, I gradually started to make out my surroundings better. I was barely conscious and my body was too weak to move. All I could do was look upwards as I laid down.
My vision completely cleared up and I had fully regained my consciousness; however, my body was still extremely weak and I didn't have the will to move. I looked upward and it seemed that I was in a shelter. I don't recall much of what happened before I fainted. All I remember was that I was attacked by....something. I don't know who or what saved me, but whatever it is, it could help me find Nyx
I finally regained my strength and got up. I was covered in a blanket. I looked down at my leg, it had been covered in bandages. And I was reminded more of the thing that attacked me. I took in my surroundings, it seemed that I was in a small tent. I didn't recognize it at all, this meant that someone definitely brought me here.
I decided to get up and move outside of the tent. I walked very unsteadily, as my body was still extremely weak. But I still mustered up the strength to move. I made my way out of the tent, I looked outside. I was greeted by a bonfire. it looked like it was nighttime. I seemed to be on a grassy hill. But most importantly, there was a person sitting next to the bonfire. it looked human, but very strange at the same time.
"Oh, your finally awake." The humanoid figure spoke. I didn't feel any danger or hostility from him so I walked a little closer to him. and I managed to fully make out his looks. He almost had no clothes on. He wore a small piece of cloth that covered the lower parts of his body. He wore a very rusty helmet with a face on it. his body was completely shriveled up, skinny to the bone it was almost as if he had no muscles or organs at all. he had long gray hair that were out of the helmet. Despite how messed up his body was, I could tell he was a male. Despite how messed up his body was I could still tell he was human, and I was comforted by that fact. It also seemed like he was the one who brought me here. At this moment I remembered what Nyx told me when I was in white space. She said that I would wake up and meet a man who will help me escape. He must be the man that Nyx was referring to! knowing this, I walked up to the campfire and sat down next to the man. he was carving a wooden bow while sitting next to the campfire.
"Hi, can I ask who are you?" I questioned him.
"I am a damned soul, and the one who brought you here" he answered. Damned soul? I guess that confirms that this isn't a regular world. But I still don't completely understand everything, I need to ask more questions.
"What is this place?" I asked. In order for me to get out of here, I need to understand it first.
"This is the Underworld, where the souls of the damned reside. More importantly, who are you, I still sense life energy from you. How did you get here." He replied. From what he said, it seems that this world isn't physical. He said he was a damned soul, meaning that he also isn't alive. He also said that he sensed life energy from me, meaning im alive, but if I am then why was I transported here.
" I have been transported here for a purpose, but im still not completely sure why im in this place." I responded.
"Well for whatever reason you're here, You should leave. This place is far too dangerous for you to stay. The reason I brought you was because you were being attacked by a goblin reaper." he said. I finally was able to remember what happened before I lost consiousness. I was being attacked by a creature which is apparently called a goblin reaper. What the man just said solitified the need for me to leave this place.
"that's my goal, to leave this Place and complete my mission. But I don't really know How to leave." I replied.
"Well there is a way to leave. Although it is extremely difficult." He said. I was excited to here that there was a way to leave this place but hearing that it was difficult worried me.
"Tell me, how do I leave here." I asked.
"You must venture through the underworld and find Zorro, The Gatekeeper. Once you meet him, he'll realise that you are alive and aren't meant to be here, and will send you back to Gale." He answered. I understood what to do but after what I've been through, this world is extremely dangerous and I'm not sure if I would survive. My whole life I was able to beat anyone who ever tried to mess with me, this is the first time I've ever been too weak to survive. I felt... fear for the first time.
"I understand, Thank you for saving me. I really owe you, but I have to leave so I can go find the gatekeeper." I said. I stood up and found my ripped up clothes in the tent. I wore them, and I found the bag with snacks that I bought from the convenience store too. I grabbed them and left the tent. I walked away from the campfire and tried to leave.
" Where do you think you're going." The man said in the distance. I stopped and looked behind me.
"Do you really think you're going to be able to find The Gatekeeper on your own? And especially with that injury." He continued. I stood there and looked at him. I realized that he was right, there is absolutely no way for me to survive on my own. I was nearly killed by a small creature and now I have an injured leg. I just looked at the ground not knowing what to do.
"Don't worry, I will help you find the gatekeeper and I'll teach you how to survive in this world." He declared. I lifted my head up and looked at him. I was surprised, it was the first time I had been offered any help from anyone. It was something completely foreign to me, I had spent my whole life fighting for myself.
" T-Thank you. ". I said. I went back and sat down near the campfire.
"My name is Shoji. Can I have yours?" I continued.
"I no longer have a name. When I was alive, my name was given to me by my master which I no longer serve."He responded. I was confused by what he had said but I guessed that I would probably figure it out if I talked with him more.
"Well I have to call you something." I replied. he stayed quiet for a minute and then finally spoke.
"Very well, You may call me Klint."
