Seeing Zhan Kong turn around and stare at her, she felt a little flustered and quickly added, "Brother Ye still has half of it!"
"Boss, Ye Chenfeng is looking for you," someone called out.
"Okay, call him over," Zhan Kong replied, glancing at Mo Fan before focusing on Ye Chenfeng as he approached.
Well, Ye is really something.
"You're back! With your strength, how come you're slower than Mo Fan?" Zhan Kong asked, puzzled. After all, Ye Chenfeng was a mid-level mage; it was surprising that he lagged behind Mo Fan, who was burdened with a large group.
"I went to destroy the demon entrance at Inscription Middle School," Ye Chenfeng said with determination.
"What!?" Zhan Kong exclaimed, looking at Ye Chenfeng, who wore a resolute expression.
"Good boy, I'm glad you came back alive!" he added, pride evident in his voice.
Ye Chenfeng waved his hand dismissively. "After I destroyed the entrance to the demons, I encountered the Black Church's minions. Yu Ang is one of them."
"Good!" Zhan Kong said enthusiastically. "You've done a great job!"
"What about the Holy Spring?" Zhan Kong asked, returning to the pressing issue.
"I drank it," Ye Chenfeng replied matter-of-factly.
"What?" Zhan Kong nearly lost his balance on the edge of the observation deck. He felt as if he might slip and fall to his death. "Did you two discuss this? Not a drop left!?"
Seeing the incredulous look on Zhan Kong's face, Ye Chenfeng explained, "The situation was critical. I arrived to find a horde of demons—servant-level one-eyed wolves and general-level three-eyed wolves. I thought I could just hold them off."
"But then the Black Church attacked from behind! With the three-eyed wolves in front and more demons surrounding me, my magic energy was running low. I had to act for the city, for the people, for…"
"So you drank it."
Zhan Kong couldn't help but feel impressed. In such a dangerous situation, it was remarkable that Ye Chenfeng had managed to think of destroying the demon entrance and come out alive.
"It's good to be alive; that's what matters," Zhan Kong finally said. "Then Mo Fan, I'll wait for you at Mingzhu Academy."
"Okay, don't worry. With our talent, we'll definitely get promoted," Mo Fan replied confidently.
"Goodbye, Brother Chenfeng," Xinxia waved as they parted.
Upon returning to the villa, Ye Chenfeng immediately used the Holy Earth Spring stored in the jade pendant to break through to the third level of the initial stage of the Space System. He also instructed Butler Ye to monitor individuals on the wanted list of curse mages in the Hangzhou area.
He then headed to his newly built laboratory, taking out the body of the black beast from the space magic tool for analysis.
Time flew by.
After two months of diligent practice, Ye Chenfeng received a significant piece of news.
"Master, we found Chao He in a town north of Hangzhou," his assistant reported.
"Finally!" Ye Chenfeng murmured, excitement coursing through him.
Gathering some special machines, he traveled to Hangzhou, arriving at the source of the stream where the fire was born.
"Pan Xiong, if you don't want to beg in Hangzhou City, take your people and leave. There's no rule that the fire spirit seeds our Dongfang family covets will be shared with anyone!" one of the leading men, dressed in a luxurious retro Tang suit, declared.
Ye Chenfeng watched as the Dongfang family used their power to drive away the Hunter Alliance.
"Sorry, but this belongs to me. As for other benefits… if I'm in a good mood, I might grant you a quicker death," a cold voice cut through the air.
Here it comes!
Ye Chenfeng quickly activated the machine, preparing to collect data on the curse system.
"Who are you? Humph, you think you can reap the benefits...?" the man began.
"You may have heard of my name, Chao He!" came the reply.
No, it seems we still have to capture him!
Ye Chenfeng saw the Evil Spider Trap but realized he couldn't analyze it without a test subject.
"Very good. After refining this earth fire, my strength will soar, and I can do whatever I want!" Chao He exclaimed, a look of joy crossing his face.
Suddenly, a loud bang echoed as the bottom of the reservoir was blown open, revealing a large charred hole.
In an instant, Ye Chenfeng noticed a ripple of shadow.
Tang Yue made her move!
Seeing Tang Yue successfully restrain Chao He, she stepped forward. "You have four more lives on your hands, all mid-level magicians. Not only will you be sentenced to death, but your soul will also be condemned," Tang Yue declared.
"I think I have to add two more charges: killing the judge," Chao He said with a strange smile.
"There's nothing to say to a beast like you," Tang Yue retorted.
"You think you can take me down like this, Miss Tang Yue? Aren't you being a little naive?" Chao He grinned, his confidence unwavering.
Suddenly, a mass of murky substance surged from the side, forming a dark cloud that engulfed the area.
The clouds were thick and dark, resembling some sort of shadow magic tool.
Chao He regained his mobility, shaking his head with an evil grin.
"Could it be you?" he asked, sensing a presence.
Before Chao He could finish, Ye Chenfeng couldn't wait any longer.
A fierce punch surged forward.
The raging flames shot directly at Chao He before he could react.
The energy from the Fierce Fist roared across the mountain range. Ye Chenfeng knew Chao He would be fine; this attack had only destroyed his magic tool, so he pressed on, linking his next move.
"Ice Soul, Ice Lock, Pang Mang!"
"You destroyed my precious tool," Chao He seethed, emerging from the rubble. His anger transformed into a sinister smile.
"Oh shit!"
"Damn it, you don't play by the rules!" Chao He exclaimed.
Ye Chenfeng slowly emerged from the woods, glancing at Tang Yue.
"Ye Chenfeng?" Tang Yue gasped. She felt her strength waning and had to brace herself against the rocks, her breath coming in rapid gasps as heat washed over her.
"Damn it, Old Ye?" Mo Fan finally registered the scene before him.
Realizing Tang Yue was on the verge of collapsing, he moved to her side and extended his hand toward her.
"Can't handle it? It's okay, I'll help you," he offered.
"What are you going to do?" Tang Yue stammered, watching Ye Chenfeng approach, his hands reaching toward her. As she looked into his handsome face, filled with an unexplainable attraction, her voice became soft and alluring.
He's so handsome…
Wait, wake up, Tang Yue!
Just escaped the wolf's den, and now I'm falling into the tiger's mouth.
"Damn it, Old Ye, wait!" Mo Fan exclaimed, surprised to see Ye Chenfeng touching Tang Yue.
