Chapter 1 - chapter 1

*Prologue: The Fall of Eldrid*

In the realm of Eldrid, where ancient magic once flourished, the last remnants of a once-great civilization teetered on the brink of collapse. The land, once verdant and thriving, withered and died as the magic that sustained it began to fade.

As the final rays of sunlight vanished, the dark forces that had long sought to claim Eldrid's power launched their assault. The Eldridian army, vastly outnumbered, fought valiantly but ultimately succumbed to the relentless onslaught.

Amidst the chaos, a lone figure emerged. Lyra, the last Eldridian queen, stood resolute, her eyes blazing with determination. With a heavy heart, she performed a desperate ritual, sacrificing her own life force to seal away the realm's remaining magic.

As the darkness closed in, Lyra's thoughts turned to her unborn child, the future heir to the throne. She imbued the infant with the essence of Eldrid's magic, ensuring the bloodline's survival.

*Chapter 1: Awakening

Seventeen years had passed since Eldrid's downfall. In the secluded village of Brindlemark, a young woman named Eira grew restless. Unexplained visions haunted her dreams, and an eerie, unsettling energy stirred within.

Eira's eyes snapped open, her heart racing. The familiar surroundings of her small cottage offered little comfort. She felt an inexplicable connection to the mysterious, ancient magic that once flowed through Eldrid.

With a sigh, Eira rose from bed, her gaze drifting toward the worn leather-bound book on her nightstand. The cover, adorned with intricate runes, seemed to shimmer in the fading moonlight.

As she opened the book, yellowed pages revealed cryptic passages and illustrations of a long-forgotten realm. Eira's fingers traced the symbols, and an electric tingle coursed through her veins.

Suddenly, visions exploded across her mind's eye: Lyra's final moments, the fall of Eldrid, and an ancient prophecy.

"Eira, you are the key," a whisper echoed in her mind.

The words resonated deep within, and she knew her life would never be the same.
