Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: A New Mission

Although Shin felt reluctant, he didn't object to Ace taking food from the ship. While he had a cold, rational side, he wasn't opposed to helping others when possible. With no signs of the Beast Pirates, there was little concern about encountering Kaido and his forces. Otherwise, Shin would insist they keep at least half of the food and leave Wano immediately.

Kaido, unlike Whitebeard, had little patience and a far more brutal nature. With Ace's bold personality, Shin doubted Kaido would hesitate to kill him on the spot. Frankly, Ace's strength was still a bit short of what was needed to roam the New World freely.

The Spade Pirates decided to stay in Amigasa Village for a few days. During that time, Ace befriended a young girl named Tama and even picked up the skill of knitting straw hats. Tama was a cute, energetic child with an amusing ambition to become a "charismatic kunoichi," which intrigued Shin, a skilled ninja himself. When he demonstrated some basic ninja techniques, the girl clung to him, begging him to teach her.

In Shin's view, chakra was more than just a gift from his world; it was an energy that could potentially be shared here. He reasoned that if the people in the Naruto World, who once had no chakra, could awaken it through the Six Paths Sage, then it was conceivable that someone from the Pirate World could do so as well, given the right spark.

The creation of chakra required a union of physical and spiritual energy, which meant that as long as someone possessed those, they had the potential. Shin's chakra was nowhere near the vast reserves of the Six Paths Sage, so the process would be gradual. The awakening would require months of cultivating another's body, eventually igniting a subtle yet persistent chakra flow.

Yet, despite experimenting with his fellow crew members, he found they only produced small amounts of chakra, barely enough to perform the simplest of techniques. And their control was abysmal, allowing them to execute only rudimentary skills. Even Ace, with his Fire-Fire Fruit powers, couldn't produce any chakra at all—a puzzling outcome that left Shin uncertain if Devil Fruit users were incapable of chakra or if Ace's natural fruit had overridden it.

Regardless, he couldn't refuse Tama's pleas. To his surprise, within three days, she had awakened a small amount of chakra, a feat that astounded Shin. It had taken him months to awaken on his own despite his body already having adapted to chakra.

As the Spade Pirates' provisions depleted, they had no choice but to depart. Shin didn't have time to teach the girl comprehensively, so he left her with a scroll containing instructions for basic techniques, bidding farewell to Tama with a promise that they might meet again someday.

Before leaving, Ace and Shin had gathered intelligence from the village. They knew where the Beast Pirates and the shogun kept their resources and which storage sites held the most supplies. While the Spade Pirates weren't as wildly chaotic as the Straw Hat Pirates, they lacked the promise of destiny, but they were undoubtedly more efficient in executing plans.

The Spade Pirates were ready to proceed with the route mapped, guards noted, and escape routes carefully drawn. They even marked the locations of critical mines, including iron and sea stone deposits. The more Shin studied these sites, especially the prison in Udon, the more plans brewed in his mind.

"Still," he muttered, "the Whitebeard Pirates have their own method of training haki that rivals anything in Wano. There's no reason to stir up unnecessary trouble."

For now, the high-security prison and mines provided Kaido with immense economic and strategic value. Seizing control would trigger Kaido's relentless pursuit upon his return.

Yet, deep in Shin's mind, an idea took root—a seed of ambition, quietly waiting to grow.
