Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Silent Liberation

What Shin used just now was the body flicker technique, Shunshin, from Naruto World.

Shunshin is not a singular technique but an entire jutsu class, much like the cloning techniques. There are numerous types of clones—shadow, water, earth, lightning, and illusion clones, each suited to specific applications. Shunshin itself has many forms, including physical and chakra-based techniques, and even the space-time Flying Thunder God can be classified as a type of Shunshin.

Shin just used a basic Shunshin technique, a blend of Taijutsu and chakra, the most basic and commonly used form of body-flicker.

This skill was part of the inheritance left to him by his Chunin father, though he had been unable to train with it before, as his physique and chakra hadn't met the necessary threshold.

With his enhanced physique and chakra, he could finally use it, albeit barely.

Jack and Ruth were stunned when they saw Shin's move, gaining some confidence in his abilities.

Yet, just around the corner, Shin, who had just pulled off the feat, was struggling. He rubbed his legs intensely, grimacing in pain before recovering a few moments later.

"Turns out using this Shunshin is still a bit much for me. Good for show, but not very practical yet," Shin muttered. He had endured it mainly to reassure Jack and Ruth.

That night, Shin, with a clear plan, infiltrated the Drum Kingdom palace once again.

Only a few days had passed, but the palace guards—had grown laxer.

Shin was unaware that Walpo, the self-indulgent new king, had sown unrest throughout the palace after taking the throne. With the previous king gone, Wapol's disregard for decorum had spread paranoia among palace staff, especially after valuables, including the Munch-Munch Fruit and a sizable fortune, had gone missing. The king, suspecting theft, had imprisoned several guards, further weakening palace defenses.

Taking advantage of the situation, Shin discreetly explored the palace. Unable to find Wapol in the royal quarters, he surmised the king had relocated.

Continuing his search, Shin located Wapol holding a banquet in the palace hall.

Wapol , surrounded by ministers, sat at a lavish table brimming with food, entertained by maids flitting between the guests.

Shin's eyes gleamed. Using the transformation technique, he disguised himself as a stunning maid, then knocked out another maid and carried a tray toward Wapol .

Lost in drink and festivities, Wapol barely registered the new 'maid' delivering his plate. As Shin departed, he deftly flicked a small paper onto the back of Wapol's collar.

He exited the hall, released the transformation, and escaped through a nearby window. He lowered himself swiftly to the ground below using a steel wire for support.

Just then, an explosion boomed within the palace, followed by frantic screams, cries for doctors, and finally, panicked shouts of, "The king is dead!"

A slight smile played on Shin's lips. The scrap of paper he had left on Wapol was two concealed explosive tags.

An explosion that close to Wapol's head would be catastrophic. Without enhanced physical resilience or defense, it was unlikely that anyone, much less Wapol, could survive.

Having completed his task, Shin transformed himself into a Lapahn and took off, using the chaos in the palace to his advantage. With guards now searching everywhere, the streets were a flurry of activity. However, the guards, weary of the aggressive Lapahns, gave him a wide berth.

In just a few hours, Shin returned to the medical hall. Although satisfied with his success, he couldn't help but feel that he'd wasted time. "Had I known, I'd have taken him out on my first visit," he muttered, slightly annoyed.

By the time he reached town, news of Wapol'sdeath hadn't yet spread. He quietly slipped back into the hospital and went straight to his room for a well-deserved sleep.

The following morning, Shin awoke to the sound of commotion outside. As he stepped out, he encountered Ruth and Jack, both beaming.

"Shin, there you are! Last night…" Ruth began, but Shin interrupted, feigning innocence.

"Last night? I don't know what you mean. I came back yesterday. What's going on out there?"

Jack and Ruth exchanged a knowing look but played along. "Our new king met with an 'unfortunate' accident and was killed. The kingdom is in mourning," Jack said mockingly, "a great tragedy."

Though he tried to look mournful, Jack's expression was unmistakably relieved.

"So, now that this king is gone, who's next? The exiled eldest prince, perhaps?" Shin wondered aloud.

Jack shuddered. "If it's him, we should leave immediately. That guy's obsession with poison gas is no joke. I'd rather not risk my life."

Shin sighed. "This world is truly corrupt. Even among the kingdoms, good leaders seem rare," he said, shaking his head.

"You're right, but I doubt it'll be the prince. Even the ministers wouldn't dare keep him around with his penchant for uncontrollable toxins," Jack replied thoughtfully.
