This is an Au world, where Jon snow escapes from Mance Ryder's camp then heads north of the lands of never winter, to the Northern wastes of Middle earth
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\Jon Snow wandered the snow wastes far above the wall, he had escaped from Mance Ryder's camp. He missed her, he missed Yiggrite. He missed Robb, he missed Arya, he missed them all.
He heard a pounding of paws; it was big, probably a dire wolf. He pulled out his blade but was pounced on. Longclaw had been thrown from his hand. The dire wolf wrestled him; he closed his eyes, waiting for the sharp teeth of the beast to sink into his neck.
He was instead met by a big slobber full lick. He opened his eyes. He saw a white dire wolf with crimson red eyes, "Ghost! Thank the old Gods." Jon sat up and hugged Ghost while the Dire wolf licked him.
They kept walking north; at first, the prey was common, deer, elk, all sorts. But as the days passed on into weeks, all of the prey turned into malnourished rabbits and before long, into nothing.
The ice and snow had turned into slick ice-covered rocks; the trees had turned into nothing more than twigs on the ground. Caves that had been long undisturbed stretched into the ground, they had been using those for cover because they were unnaturally warm, the only grace they had been given.
This land was long abandoned, or so he thought. In these icey Northern wastes, Jon had found a burnt-out campfire. He would have kissed the charcoal. This was the first sign of human life for weeks, nearly a month.
And!! There was a set of footprints in the light snow. Jon carefully followed the trail so as not to disturb it. It went on for a few minutes before abruptly stopping; he looked around; it was a flat rocky plane; how could anyone hide?
He heard a great roar, he looked all over but could not find it, until it roared again, screaming through the air was a great big grey lizard with wings like a bat.
It swung down, nearly grabbing him, but it missed; well, it seemed more like it noticed something and stopped. It twirled around like it was doing some exotic dance from Essos.
It made a rough landing on the ground ahead of him. It was a dragon, like the ones he had read about. It was like the drawing of Craraxes he had seen when he was younger.
It twisted its head, then uttered something that shook him to his core. "I see a human, but I smell a dragon." its words were long, loud, and drawn out whether on purpose or not; Jon could not tell in his state of shock.
