Chereads / The Survival of the Third-rate Villain / Chapter 25 - 25 - The Path Beyond the Game Scenarios

Chapter 25 - 25 - The Path Beyond the Game Scenarios

"Ugh..."

Waking up the next morning, I feel hungry as fuck.

'I can't believe I slept for more than fourteen hours.'

Maybe it's because I've been stressing out about what to do for the duel with Leon. That once it was done, I was able to fully relax.

Anyway...

'It's done.'

My role in the game story finished yesterday.

"Haahhhh..."

I can finally rest.

Just then...

Swoosh-

=====

Act II: The Fallen's Struggle (Complete)

=====

A system window appeared in front of me, informing me of the completion of a game scenario.

Looking at it, I raised a brow...

"Why do I have different game scenarios?"

I asked.

This title scenario isn't from the game.

Right now, "Act Zero: The Fall of the Arrogant" should've just ended when Leon defeated me.

Then, thinking about it for a while...

"Must be that..."

I came to the conclusion that these Acts being displayed to me are focused on Raye's life and the scenarios around him, not on the game progression.

And for some reason, I don't like that...

Swoosh-

=====

Reward: Full access to the status system has been granted.

=====

But when this new window appeared in front of me, I forgot about it.

And reading through its content, I became curious...

"Status."

I mumbled.

Swoosh-

Then my status window opened up.

=====

I immediately noticed a new section.

And upon reading its content, I immediately realized it's for the skills I had learned and my proficiency with them.

"That's cool."

I mumbled with a satisfied nod.

"Anyway..."

Then I closed it and went to do my own thing.

'I need to prepare.'

After all, today is the first day of school.

...

*****

After preparing breakfast and eating with the old man, I took a bath and wore my uniform.

"I'm going, Old Man!"

"Okay, take care."

And with that, I left for the academy.

...

...

"Hmm, I'm too eye-catching."

I mumbled to myself as I walked across Xapham Hall.

Everywhere I go, someone's looking at me. And not just because of my reputation.

'It's because of the uniform.'

Zion's uniform for male students is a white tailcoat with a black vest inside, and the bottom is plain white pants.

Combine this with my white hair, it's no wonder people are looking.

I look like a fucking snowman! (A handsome one...)

'Washing this would be hell.'

I thought as I walked toward my classroom.

...

Soon, I reached my destination.

"B-Class, 1st year."

After reading that on the door...

Creak—

I immediately opened it and entered the room.

"..."

The room went silent as I entered.

"Hm?"

But for some reason, they're not whispering about me anymore.

They're just looking intently.

"Got anything to say?"

I asked, looking back at the students.

"Erm..."

Then they just started mumbling something and avoiding my eyes.

"Weirdos."

I said before finding myself a seat. I settled on the middle row on the far right.

Completely blending into the crowd.

"You stand out like a sore thumb."

Though, someone approached me and said that.

Looking at them, I saw a young man wearing the same uniform as me. He has black hair and eyes, pretty masculine too for a magician.

"Hi, my name's Devin Dustin from the magic course."

He introduced himself.

I don't know him from the game, definitely an extra.

"Raye Alvah, magic course."

So I concluded that interacting with him wouldn't have any effect on the story.

"Yeah, well, everyone knows about you. Not in a good way though, haha."

He replied with a laugh.

'This kid is either bold or stupid.'

I thought.

If I was the real Raye, I would've flipped out on him.

Even the students around us are getting nervous because of him.

Anyway, I shrugged my shoulders...

"Then why did you talk to me if you knew about the rumors?"

I asked.

And almost immediately...

"Well, we'll be seatmates from now on. I want to get to know you."

Devin replied, he sat beside me.

"Don't you already know what kind of a person I am?"

I asked another question.

And with a pretty innocent smile on his face...

"I mean, you don't really act like the others say. Isn't it stupid to just say you know someone because you've heard rumors about them?"

Devin declared that.

"..."

I was speechless.

'This guy is really stupid.'

I thought.

"Whatever, do what you want."

Then I told him, casually waving my hand.

And soon after that...

Creak—

"Let's immediately begin the class."

The professor assigned to our class arrived.

...

*****

"..."

After a brief introduction from the professor.

He handed us all a form.

"There are two blank sections there, fill them out with the classes you want to focus on."

He said.

Courses have various branches, especially the magic course. That's why if we have other classes we want to take or especially excel at, we are to write them here on this form.

We could even take classes outside of our course if we want.

"What did you pick?"

Devin asked, looking at my paper.

"Alchemy and Magic Engineering."

I simply replied.

"What?! I thought someone like you would take combat classes!"

He exclaimed. It made the professor and even the other students look at us.

"Pipe down there, mister."

The professor told Devin.

'Fucking embarrassing...'

I cursed in my head, slightly annoyed at Devin.

Anyway, looking at him...

"What do you mean someone like me?"

I asked, raising a brow.

"Well, you're good at fighting, I saw it twice already."

He answered.

Well, I thank him for the compliment.

"Nah."

But I shrugged off the idea of taking combat classes.

"Alchemy and Magic Engineering make tons of money, idiot."

I stated.

"Ohhh, so you're just in it for money?"

Devin frowned.

"I mean, I'm studying now to earn money in the future, right?"

And I responded.

At my words...

"..."

Devin opened his mouth, trying to find something to say.

But in the end...

"Ugh..."

He wasn't able to find a word to rebut and just closed his mouth.

'Ahhh, silence.'

I smiled, and with that...

I passed my form, finalizing my choice to take Alchemy and Magic Engineering.

"Also, I'll be handing out your report cards from the class placement test. Your rank is included with it."

The professor then announced.

"Hmm, I wonder what I got."

I'm interested to know how well I did.
