"Ugh..."
Devin groaned, grabbing the left side of his body.
Blood was gushing out of his wound, seeping into his left gauntlet, staining the steel with dark crimson.
A sharp, throbbing pain pulsed through his torso, but he gritted his teeth, refusing to show too much weakness.
"That looks like it hurts."
Allen mumbled, glancing at him with a blank expression, his sword still loosely gripped in his hand.
And with a frown on his face—
"No shit, Mister Detective."
Devin grumbled, voice laced with slight irritation.
He was still kind of annoyed at Allen for constantly using him as bait earlier, letting the demon attack him head-on just so he could land a surprise strike.
The two of them didn't fight as a team, rather, they just fought individually, reacting to each other's actions rather than coordinating.
Their so-called "teamwork" was just taking advantage of whatever openings the other created.
