Chapter 93 - The Completion of the Magical Map

The necromancer certainly did not wish to swim back to the North American continent. He had faced me multiple times, and though he had always emerged defeated and humiliated, he did not consider himself inferior in strength.

If you are determined to engage, allow me to remind you that I recently completed a blood sacrifice, enhancing the power of my blade spirit by thirty percent. Let us see if you still possess that kind of luck."

"I shall show you what true fortune looks like!

Almost like a magician, a three-meter-long black spear adorned with white skeletal patterns materialized in my hand. With a thunderous thrust, I unleashed a flurry of over a hundred strikes, leaving the necromancer drenched in sweat and struggling to defend himself.

Whenever the blade spirit struck my skeletal weapon, it emitted a mournful wail, sometimes even evading commands, as if it were repulsed by the heavy aura of death surrounding it, rendering the necromancer's power utterly ineffective. "Have you experienced good fortune? If not, allow me to demonstrate once more!"

Just as I was about to summon the Sword of Purification to join the fray, the necromancer staggered, exposing a significant vulnerability.

My skeletal spear pierced his chest, yet the blood that flowed forth was instantly absorbed by the weapon's blade. To be honest, I had not intended to kill him;

this unexpected turn left me momentarily stunned. I turned to see the axe-wielder grinning awkwardly at me, pointing at a short axe lodged in the necromancer's leg, and remarked, "I am called Axe because I favor this weapon, and I possess a skill for throwing axes."

The situation had taken a chaotic turn;

the axe-wielder now seemed somewhat intimidated by me, thus exerting himself to assist. However, I felt no gratitude; this scoundrel was more of a hindrance than a help. Struck by my skeletal spear, the necromancer had all his vital essence drawn away, yet he did not lose his ability to move. It was true that he was dying, but one of the attributes of the skeletal spear was the ability to transform slain foes into skeletal warriors, and the necromancer had already begun to succumb to the corruption of death.

"Well then, it seems I have acquired the steed of that skeletal knight leader. With this unfortunate soul, I can assemble a skeletal knight.

As the spear lunged forth, a cloud of smoke enveloped the necromancer, and he was absorbed into my skeletal knight legion, leaving the axe-wielder dumbfounded and profoundly relieved to be on my side, still not having fled.

While I was embroiled in this upheaval, Luo Dajun had followed closely behind, merely watching the spectacle without taking action. Noticing my apparent dissatisfaction, he hesitated to challenge me further, yet he was reluctant to retreat without a word.

With a leap from the island, he landed upon the ocean's surface. Scientific evidence suggests that with sufficient speed, a person can run upon water. He sprinted from the shore straight onto my yacht, proving the theory correct.

The axe-wielder had failed to notice Luo Dajun's presence. When the young man appeared with such commanding vigor, he instinctively hurled the other short axe in his hand without a second thought. Of course, his meager abilities could not harm Luo Dajun; the axe was effortlessly deflected aside. "I shall not challenge you today;

I will await you at my master's place tomorrow morning!"

"This reckless youth has come all this way just to utter such nonsensical words?" I could hardly muster the energy to respond, allowing Luo Dajun to finish speaking before he sprinted back across the water, my mood utterly soured.

"That goddess Pan left something for you."

"What! Pan Li'er left something for me?" I sprang to my feet, and the axe-wielder handed me a piece of parchment made from sheepskin. This object was familiar to me; it was indeed a magical map.

Upon unfolding the map, I saw two continents with interlocking dogtooth shapes, dotted with countless islands that segmented the sea into seven major sections. "The Seven Seas of Ruopa!" The phrase immediately sprang to mind.

After scrutinizing the demonic inscriptions on the map, I confirmed my judgment was correct.

Taking out my own magical map, I activated the teleportation feature, and soon both maps displayed identical patterns.

The image now depicted the northern Demon Island, with a coastline stretching hundreds of kilometers to the south, uncertain whether it was an island or a continent. The remaining areas were blank, but further south of that coastline lay the Seven Seas of Ruopa.

Separating the Seven Seas from Demon Island was a landmass of considerable size, but according to the scale of the magical map, the north-south distance of this continent was at least twenty to thirty thousand kilometers, broader than any landmass on the globe.

Is Pan Li'er beckoning me to find her?" She must long for me to arrive adorned with a rainbow of clouds or riding a winged white horse to seek her in the Seven Seas. Yet, I possessed none of these means of transportation.

Such a vast distance would take an eternity to traverse, even if I set out from Skeleton Island, and I had little time to linger there! Moreover, I was unaware of the dangers that continent might hold or whether I had the strength to cross it.

I admit that I faltered momentarily, but soon I despised my own cowardice. I must journey to the Seven Seas, not for any other reason but to tell her, "I am not the scoundrel I was four hundred years ago."

With my palm outstretched, countless silver runes coalesced into the Tunguska magical teleportation array. Through comparing the magical arrays on Bafin Island and Skeleton Island, I had begun to grasp some nuances of this teleportation magic.

However, I remained bewildered by the principles of magical teleportation, the energy source for activating the array, the stability of the transport, and the crucial issues of spatiotemporal positioning... all these key questions eluded my understanding. I did not even know why I could simulate this miniature magical array.

"If I could unravel the secrets of the teleportation array, I would have the means to enter and exit Demon Island or Skeleton Island at will, thus qualifying myself to seek out Pan Li'er. But who can tell me where I might learn such things?

Relying solely on my own exploration is arduous. I hope the Demon Mercenary Corps has a training program for mages; how wonderful it would be if regular members could attend for free."

The axe-wielder dared not disturb me. The aftermath of the battles had left the yacht in disarray, and all the sailors I had rented had perished. Seizing this opportunity, he set about cleaning the ship.

In the area where we docked, there were few vessels nearby; as long as we sank the troublesome remnants to the ocean floor, no one would know what had transpired. The scenery of Bafin Island was exquisite, yet this was not a paradise.
