Chapter 31 - Returning to the Devil's Island Hotel

A woman. A beauty. A French beauty. An alluring, aloof, and irresistibly sensual French beauty... willing to kneel and kiss your toes. What does that feel like? I didn't know before, but now I do. Though Lilis appears strong, wrapped in a cold exterior, her heart is delicate; without a thought of whether this lifeline could truly bear her weight, she clings to it with all her might.

She handed me two martial arts cards, one a level three and the other a level four. That wasn't the remarkable part; what was striking was that these cards required no foundational martial arts to learn. The Celestial Palm of Leisure Level Three Card (x1) — thirty-six moves requiring inner strength over 1,300 points to master. The Fluttering Flower Leaf Kick Level Four Card (x1) — eighteen moves requiring 800 inner strength points and proficiency in at least three martial arts.

"These two martial arts cards... you got them from Miss Devil, didn't you?" I asked, testing the waters. Lilis confirmed my suspicion with a simple, "How did you know?"

It seemed that Miss Devil's cards were all practical, giving newcomers a chance to bolster their combat skills instantly. Yet, these cards — which were invaluable to me — were utterly useless to someone like Lilis, who had no martial arts foundation. That thought sparked another question, and I asked, "Did these cards originally belong to someone else?" Lilis's expression darkened. "Yes, they were Supersonic's and Snooker's. They took mine away, saying I didn't need them and couldn't use them in battle, so they gave me these instead. I hate them for it. Those cards were my hope for survival."

"Imagine that — a complete set. They have no idea of their worth. Just selling these would fetch millions." I muttered to myself, activating both cards. I have enough inner strength for the Celestial Palm, and as for the three martial arts required for the Leaf Kick, my Nameless Martial Arts, Sandsweeper, and newly learned Celestial Palm perfectly fulfilled the requirements.

Hand-to-hand combat has always been my weakness, but with both a fist technique and a kick technique now at my disposal, my fighting prowess has increased by at least twenty percent. With a few days of practice, I should make even more progress; I still have several days left on my Spirit Power Training Card.

When I opened the barracks door, Lilis hesitated but followed me in. As an ordinary high school student, I still have a lot of youthful fantasies about women, which is why I waited so many times for Ye Ying on her way home. Compared to Ye Ying, Lilis holds a far greater allure. Her mature charm surpasses that of girls my age, and the fact that she's French gives an exotic thrill to my imagination.

"Sit down." Lilis obediently sat on my cot. It looked small, as if lying side by side would be cramped. But for certain activities, one person above and one below would suffice. Outwardly calm, I was more nervous than in any duel. Hearing her story about being used as a decoy for the Winged Devil Ape broke the last shred of my moral restraint. Right now, I very much wanted to "devour" this alluring French beauty.

Rubbing my hands together behind my back, I couldn't figure out how to start. After all, I'm just a high school student with no experience, not even having read much in the way of, well, "descriptions." "How to begin?" At my age, this is an unsolvable mystery.

Lilis looked slightly more composed than me. Though she seemed a bit uneasy, she quickly broke the silence, murmuring, "Do you want to… now?"

"Yes! No... Wait, I think we should go back to the Devil's Island Hotel room. The atmosphere there would be… better." Nervously sweating, I tried to think of anything to say. My suggestion to return to the hotel was because I feared we might be interrupted at an inopportune moment by Bajing, Wolf King, or others.

"All right, so should we go now? We should still make it back tonight," she replied.

Rubbing my palms together decisively, I said, "Yes, let's go… although, are you comfortable at the hotel? There are certain things I'd rather not show you." I suddenly remembered Juliel, the demon assistant and narrator, still in the hotel room. Bringing Lilis back with me might be awkward. She nodded, saying, "I'm alone in my room; it should be fine."

"Can you fly a plane?" "Are you asking me to help you pilot…" My eyes widened as I revealed my level-three high-tech Red Spider Armed Helicopter Card, equipped with six air-to-ground Sidewinder missiles and twin cannons. Blushing slightly, Lilis nodded and whispered, "I learned how to pilot helicopters as a mercenary."

The last time I faced the giant spider creature, I only remembered the Thunderstorm Tank, forgetting that I had an even better mode of transportation. I could only curse myself for my nerves. Who would've thought I'd use it now, just to rush back to the hotel?

We arrived from the Devil's Island Hotel in a business car, a trip that took hours. But right now, patience is something I sorely lack. With this Red Spider Helicopter, we'd be back at the Devil's Island Hotel's luxurious suite within ten minutes, ready for… well, whatever stirs a young man's heart.

Though it was my first time flying, my thoughts remained fixed on the French beauty by my side. I barely glanced out at the view of Devil's Island below. My palms grew sweaty with anticipation.
