Chapter 28 - Chapter 28The Soldier's FuneralIs it true that Loya can't perform ranged attacks?

The answer, of course, is impossible.

This form has been named by Loya as the "Beginning Solution," full of potential yet to be unlocked. Over the course of a month, he gradually mastered the method of activating the power of the dragon. The magic pattern he used in the previous battle with Kuzan represented the initial stage of this form.

The reason he named it himself is that this state is not a skill attached to the Dragon Slayer System, but rather one that he developed on his own. By channeling ice-shaped magic within his body, he made himself consume a large amount of ice-attribute magic power, thereby activating the power of dragons. As a result, he broke out into dragon scales, enhancing his offense and defense.

From this point of view, the dragon slayer wizards in the original Royabizhi's works appear incredibly talented. In just over two months, Loya managed to master the method of actively awakening the power of the dragon. Although this method is crude, dangerous, and reminiscent of the explosive nature of the goblin race, it is undoubtedly effective. However, it carries significant side effects, including a bloodthirsty impulse that affects sanity.

Activating the dragon power does not interfere with his ability to use dragon-slaying magic, but his ice modeling magic temporarily becomes inactive due to the rampant dragon energy. Loya understands the importance of not putting all his eggs in one basket, so he doesn't reveal all of his abilities.

Besides these drawbacks, there is another characteristic of this technique: the passive skill Dragon Power increases rapidly. After using this form twice, Loya permanently increased the power of the dragon by 1%. Thus, he only resorts to this move in dire situations. Nevertheless, the results are extraordinary. His dragon power has now reached 39%.

What does this mean?

If the previous Loya had to dodge counterattacks when facing the Silverback Great Ape, he can now engage head-on without hesitation. His offense and defense are both more formidable than the ape's, making him a true humanoid beast.

Ice Dragon's Iron Fist!

Ice Dragon's Broken Teeth!

Ice Dragon's Claws!

Ice Dragon's Grip!

Loya unleashed relentless attacks, punching, kicking, and tearing. His frenzy was even more intense than the rampaging Silverback Great Ape's. His snake-like, icy pupils scanned the ape, exuding a chilling killing intent mixed with the dragon's might. The entire forest fell silent, with no creature daring to make a sound. Even a faint trace of a dragon's majesty is enough to assert dominance over all creatures.

The Silverback Great Ape had long sensed Loya's majesty. The overwhelming feeling struck it like a heavy hammer, leaving it deeply unsettled yet strangely exhilarated. For the beast, an existence unafraid of death, there was nothing to dread.

The battle between man and beast was brutal and thunderous. Over time, the ape's movements grew slower, and its counterattacks weakened. Even with strong willpower, no creature can defy the limits of its body. Bloodless and weary, the end had come.

Loya sensed the ape's exhaustion and stepped back, creating some distance between them. As they locked eyes, he found himself calming down. Seeing the pleading look in the creature's eyes—the only one it had ever given in its life—Loya sighed deeply and nodded in respect.

"You are a true warrior. Rest in peace," he said solemnly.

The Silverback Great Ape, exhausted but satisfied, forced a smile despite the blood caked on its face. It slowly raised its fist and, with trembling steps, approached Loya for one final clash.

Loya gathered more magic than ever before. The frosty air swirled around him, and a bright blue light emanated from his body, making him seem like a ruler of ice, majestic and commanding.

Ice Dragon's Iron Fist!

With a final, devastating blow, the massive ape collapsed, its body creating a dust cloud as it fell. It died content, now a solemn ice sculpture locked in the pose of throwing a punch.

Loya looked at the frozen statue, and for reasons he couldn't explain, a sense of emptiness overcame him. The thrill of victory vanished, leaving him in a reflective daze. He released his transformation, sank to the ground, and picked up a muddy chunk of ice, popping it into his mouth.

"Forget it," he muttered. "I'll recover some stamina and then hunt for prey again."

"Christopher Loya... defeated a Silverback Great Ape, 1,000 points."
