Li Yuye had always disliked people prying into his private matters.
"Does Feng Ze not want his mouth anymore? Whose side is he on, anyway?"
At the door, Feng Ze felt a chill down his spine. Uh-oh, the boss was angry. He'd have to go back and give himself a slap for that one.
Sensing the tension, Ye Yuan quickly intervened, pouring a glass of top-shelf wine for Li Yuye.
"So, it's true then."
"She was in your room, and she didn't come out for more than fifty minutes." This was big news. If he hadn't seen it himself, Ye Yuan wouldn't have believed it.
"Oh, and by the way! That delayed half-hour surprise was charged to your account."
Ye Yuan, a man who valued money dearly, had built up numerous industries over the years. He hadn't seen Li Yuye for two years, during which he'd acquired and expanded the casino and auction house here. Li Yuye's visit was unexpected.
Known for spending freely and being immensely wealthy, Li Yuye wouldn't mind covering a little surprise.
Ye Yuan swirled his wine, clearly intrigued. "Then again, I must say, that little beauty you've taken an interest in is indeed quite something."
"Don't get any ideas about her."
Li Yuye said playfully, "Anyone who touches her will find themselves crushed underfoot like a mere ant."
Hearing this, Ye Yuan raised an eyebrow, curious. "You're not just fooling around? Are you serious?"
"At the very least, until I'm satisfied, she's mine. She stays under my control, and mine alone."
He remembered, just before letting her leave his room, he had leaned close to her ear and warned softly, "When you go back, don't let him touch you."
Meanwhile…
With her legs still weak, Yun Zhiyi arrived at the auction hall and took her seat, feeling an eerie chill down her back.
It was as if someone was watching her from the shadows. Was she losing her mind?
"Zhiyi, where did you go? I looked everywhere and couldn't find you!"
An Yirou, now pregnant, had thrown a tantrum, crying and demanding to see him. Su Shen had spent over twenty minutes outside calming her down, and when he returned, Yun Zhiyi was nowhere in sight.
After a quick search, he heard the announcement of a delay in the auction, followed by a rush of people to the raffle area.
Yun Zhiyi explained that she'd gotten lost in the crowd and wandered around a bit, unfamiliar with the place.
Su Shen, distracted by thoughts of An Yirou's pregnancy, didn't question her much.
"Alright, as long as you're back. Just don't wander off. This place is huge and not very safe."
"Zhiyi…"
"Why don't you come back to the Su family home with me tonight?"
Seeing her hesitation, he added, "We're getting married soon. I want to take you to our new home…" The implication was clear.
Yun Zhiyi was just considering how to decline when the auction host began her introduction on stage.
"Ah Shen, let's watch the auction first," she said quickly.
"Alright." Su Shen smiled, assuming she'd agreed to his request.
His phone kept ringing persistently.
Noticing it was An Yirou calling, he immediately hung up.
For some reason, An Yirou's calls had started to irritate him lately.
"Why don't you answer it?" Yun Zhiyi remarked casually, knowing exactly who it was. "There must be a work emergency again, right? You're always so busy. It must be exhausting."
Su Shen looked at her with appreciation, a hint of affection in his gaze.
"Zhiyi, you're so understanding."
In his mind, he thought: The past is behind us; we'll start fresh.
He asked, "Do you want to start a real life with me?"
"I do," Yun Zhiyi said, appearing touched. "A good man like you… If I didn't cherish you, where else would I find someone like you?"
Su Shen suddenly pulled her into an embrace.
"Zhiyi, don't worry. From now on, I'll treat you right."
Yun Zhiyi hadn't forgotten Li Yuye's warning.
As she'd left the room, he had reminded her not to let Su Shen touch her, or else…
Thinking quickly, Yun Zhiyi "accidentally" spilled her wine, letting it spill down Su Shen's suit collar.
His white suit was instantly soaked, and she used the opportunity to push him away.
"Oh no, Ah Shen, you're just too good to me. I got so excited I couldn't even hold my glass steady…"
