Rav was bustled in a emergency room. And it was quite.. hm.. crowded.
It wasn't meant for this many Fallen Angels you would've bet, but the actual escape tunnel was blocked.
This escape thing thing wasn't a new idea, but the other escape route was really far away.
They might get spotted, then chased down.. all of that..
"Three shut up I don't want to talk to you."
Well it was the right attitude with the heat that was building up.
Rav batted his eyelashes. He was really sweating. He was sweating.
His cool face feathers weren't doing anything, and wrapping his wings around himself? Nothing. They just kept a minimal temperature.
He shook his head, attempting to clear his stuffy head.
"It's hot in here," Lightning murmured from beside Rav, shuffling his wings closer to himself.
Then don't do that, respectfully. Lightning had to know that doing that will make him relatively hotter.
His wings were basically blankets.
"Of course we are all packed in here." Hua nudged Lightning in a playful way, but it didn't look nice as Hua is bigger than Lightning and Lightning was not paying any attention to Hua himself. So the obvious result?
He toppled over.
He dumped into Rav, which Rav blocked him weakly with one wing. Good for him though since heat weakens.
Petal was sitting nearby with a slight smirk on her face: she was thinking of fighting the Space Birds.
Rav fell into her, and she bristled, which made Rav bristle, which made lots aggravative.
"Please stop the nonsense," Husk said with a serious tone of voice. "It's annoying."
Lightning got up, embarrassed. Petal gently pushed Rav off of her even thought her facial expression was completely different.
"Hua don't do that again."
It's so hot in here..
"How is this Hua's fault? It was Lightning who didn't hold himself up."
The quick put in of Zeo's so very important comment made sparks of anger linger in the air.
"Zeo, no, please don't continue."
"Nobody asked you Zeo.. please.."
"Ohhh we are going to be heard because of Zeo...!"
"Zeo," Glow-Tunnel interrupted, "Hua, Lightning. Don't be ridiculous."
I know what's going to happen-
"How am I being ridiculous?" Zeo made pushed his way towards Glow-Tunnel, looking genuinely confused.
"As.." then the elder sighed. "I know what your going to do. I don't hear anyone so let's move ourselves."
Rav felt himself feeling more energetic. Outside!? It was so hot in here of course he wants to go!
He watches as Glow-Tunnel ignored Zeo and swiped at the undergrowth that hid the entrane, then poked her head outside.
Some minutes went by. It was suffocating. p3
"I.. I don't see anything," her relief that flooded her voice, Rav started to get up.
- "Oh finally!"
- "It's still dangerous though.."
- "If we find someone who's always cold, this space is going to be the bliss."
Glow-Tunnel went outside and Zeo followed close behind, while Rav stuck close to Petal who really looked like she can't take it anymore. And that means that she will get out by force if she needs to.
Just as he predicted, Petal pushed her way in front of Husk and Rav came close behind.
He didn't complain, but he did look mad.
"Can't you wait?" Husk hissed as Cloud also cut in line. "It's not a panic and your not dying!"
She ignored him, flittling her wings so that he only complained more and made space for her.
Rav blinked, quite finally coming to the realization Husk isn't treated that well.
Well, Rav himself doesn't pay attention to Husk that much, even though they were half brothers.
Makes him think of what is happening with the traveling group, and since it's winter, if they can handle the Spirit Butterflies' tagia snow.
Oh he is not kidding, he's never been there before but the way Vex-Ice was explaining it since he's been there before is no joke whatsoever.
Rav finally got out of his stuffy cave. Jee it was a relief!
The cold instantly made him more comfortable and he shook out his wings so it can catch some too.
Tiny snowflakes landed on the ground before him, which was very tempting.
Before thinking, he was on the ground, rolling in the small mounts of snow.
I feel more refreshed! I feel alive again! I feel-
"Rav!!"
"C-Cloud?!"
He came to his senses too late, as Shine's horrified shout made Rav realize that he couldn't feel his wings. They always go numb though.. but Three's unexpected squeal really made him panic for unknown reasons.
"W-what-!? Where.." his voice died down as he looked at his.. there was no wings.
It's transparent sure but he really didn't feel any wings. Even.. saw any. "Where.." he repeated.
Rav patted his back, the usually soft feathers that felt cold to touch, was just empty. Then he checked his face, which he didn't feel anything than his own skin.
A cold feeling ran down his spine. Why was he feeling.. cold?
"I.." his voice cracked. What…
"Where are your WINGS?! I CAN'T SEE THEM ANYMORE!!" Hands grabbed Rav's face and Shine's eyes reminiscent paled turquoise eyes, just as Gravel-Zircon had described them as, was probably staring into Rav's 'glacier' blue eyes.
She gasped, backing away. From alarm only, Rav smiled at her, which was a big mistake.
"Did you do this!?" she said, pointing at his back. "Did you get rid of your wings and.. and your whole identity?!"
"Shine!" Glow-Tunnel grabbed the Healer apprentice, pulling her away. "Don't pay attention to him right now," she said calmly, even though her eyes said otherwise, "Cloud collapsed too, so you deal with that and I deal with him."
Rav couldn't believe it, but if he was in any critical state, surely Shine wouldn't leave him, right?
But she did, she shrugged Glow-Tunnel's hands off and ran to Cloud, who he just started to see she was in a bad condition too.
Pain seered through Rav unexpectedly, and the snow didn't numb it at all, as it wasn't inside him.
His vision swam, then he lost concentration on everything. He lost consciousness.
(I have no idea how to make this better.. umm.)
*****
Petal watched as Rav fully became unconscious. She would have went over to him, as he is the youngest member and all, but really. That is not him.
He does not look like that. So it's simply not him.
She shivered.
The familiar eyes turned dull brown, his eyelashes and eyebrows both black, just as Night's.
"Petal!" Shine hissed at the apprentice, who jerked her head toward Shine.
The Healer apprentice was shaking Cloud, placing her hand on the shocked girl's forehead and brushing off the face feathers in her way.
"Petal and Hua," she said again, adding Hua's name. "Please take Cloud back."
Hua is here?
"Hua was here?"
"I am here," the shy voice behind Petal made her think she really was going insane. "Sorry, was I making it seem like I wasn't?"
I barely talk to you. "No, sorry. It's on my part," Petal cleared her throat as she got up and turned to look at Hua. He was the last one to come outside, no wonder.
This apprentice wasn't mysterious or anything, just that he is seriously quiet and can't talk that much, but is a 'girly girl.' The truly mysterious might be Husk, Breaking isn't like his brother, and Feather got Flame wrapped around her finger.
Let's be honest, Petal knows and everyone knows that Flame knows his soul name is going to be Flame and a suffix of a cold thing. His eyes seem to speak it all, really.
Hua walked past her with a forced smile and grabbed Cloud's arm, which Petal helped him to put her on his back.
Wait woah, Cloud was huge. She was bigger than Hua, and his face said that she was heavy. Good for her, she wasn't the one to take Cloud.
Shine flitted around the honest struggling Guardian apprentice as he started towards home, Petal following close behind because she didn't want to actually help him whatsoever.
(This is a distraction cough cough)
*****
"...yes.."
"…why…..um."
"…really? Oh jeez. Um."
"Wait but then is it connecting them together? It was at the same time anyways."
"Rav's wings and… well whatever he has and Cloud's mysterious attack? It's really connected, that's for sure."
Single, stranded words finally clicked to full sentences as Rav opened his eyes, immediately finding the ceiling weird.
A cold breeze broke into his daze, and he shivered.
Instead of saying the cliche sentence, he felt for his face feathers, feeling nothing at all.
Rav rubbed his eyes and covered his face.
"Your up," something said, prompting Rav to remove his hands. A small thing, round body and all, white with ember sparks, stared back at him. Its eyes were wide and black, the whites barely seeable. "Oh finally. Why did you do that for? Why would you do that for anyways?"
"Wha."
The thing fluttered closer. "You basically.." it made a hmm sound. "How about.. you killed off your wings."
Horror seemed to take over Rav, and he quickly sat up. "You killed off your wings and now you're not in your body." it said again, not alarmed at the abrupt movement. "Why did you do that?"
"I didn't do anything!" Rav objected. "I was just relieved of the snow, and what do you mean I killed off my wings!?"
"I'm One-Soul." the strange thing said, ignoring his words. "You're Rav. I've been watching you."
Rav didn't know what to do. He just tilted his head in honest confusion. Well, he didn't know what to feel anymore.
"Welp, good for you," One-Soul laid back in air, bored. "You can really still hear Shine and Sage-Onyx's voice?"
It was right, he can hear them. "Was that the first voices I heard?"
One-Soul shrugged. "I guess.. and please get out of there, Loud-Wings, that is surprisingly disturbing and annoying to me."
Loud-Wings? That name strangely sounds similar to Crescent Tribe's names. Well, full soul names. Whatever One-Soul was talking to, it gave up pretty quickly. Another simple looking thing appeared from Rav's chest, wide, sad eyes locked to the black, lifeless eyes of One-Soul.
"I was just playing," it said, puffing out black smoke. "Rav looked like he was bored and he wasn't-"
"Look at him now, I know you enlightened his day."
Yea it didn't, Rav was completely horrified. He stumbled away, walking through the basket his body was resting in and looked down at it.
That was not him. This was a skinny, small child, his hair covering his face, but looked dead. Where was the familiar face he knew? The light blue eyelashes that stood out? A baby face and the personality Rav always had?
Where was the cold air that radiated around him, like a halo revolving in place? Where was it all?
"You changed," Loud-Wings made the obvious more obvious than it should be. "You really should've not done that."
"Thank you captain obvious, nobody knew," One-Soul hissed and pushed Loud-Wings, then looked over at Rav with sad eyes. "I'm sorry about this."
"What really happened to me?" Rav asked, trying to touch the body's face but failed. "Can I wake up again?"
One-Soul swiped at Loud-Wings as it tried to come closer and shook its head. "Maybe, maybe not. You're special, and you should've noticed that the day you couldn't feel the chill in the air."
"I never seen something like you anyways!" Loud-Wings called from a distance away. "We have to wait!"
The sassy spirit whipped around to see at a new spark of light that appeared close to the other one, its dark eyes concentrated on it.
A spirit materialized from the blue spark, its eyes were closed, intense gushes of glittering-icecased water revolved around it, which dropped to a semi-active stream when it opened its eyes.
"We have to send him back," the new spirit spoke out, holding up its hand.
