Elise had spent several days in the city of Iori. Being away from political conflicts and responsibilities had been relaxing for her. She was helping Rumi and Tobi with housework, only concerning herself with daily chores.
While Elgar and Tobi were training in the garden, Rumi and Elise were preparing food.
"The weather is really nice today, working in the garden was a good idea," said Rumi.
"Yes, there's nothing better than being able to move freely," said Elise, while chopping vegetables.
"Weren't you free in the Empire?" asked Rumi.
"No, everything in the Empire was bound by protocol and rules. Everything was predetermined, from what I could wear to whom I could talk to," Elise sighed. "Here I feel more free, as if I'm truly living."
"Ah, living like that must have been really frustrating," said Rumi.
